You are not understanding that your brief post does not contain all your circumstances. Your circumstances is much more detailed than what you have posted. Your circumstances is more than "a stable job, overstaying for a year in the US, and wanting to go to Canada for a vacation." What type of job? How long have you had it? What social and familial ties do you have to home? What ties do you have in Canada? Lots more than you think.

US and Canada immigrations does work together since we share a very long border.

I overstayed in the US for more than 1 year.

Left to come back to Brazil voluntarily. That was in 2009.

Now I have a stable job, and want to go to Canada for vacation.

I filled out a tourist visa application.

What are my chances?

Hello everyone!

I entered the US on a J1 visa in 2005. Stayed on that visa until 2007, then out of status until 2009. Left the country on my own.

I had two tourist visas denied ever since (2011 and 2014) and found out my ban to get a visa is 10 years.

I applied to a K1 with my fiance. Texas office, NOA1 in october.

Later on we learned about the waiver. There is not much info online.

Can anyone share experiences with it?

-When is the proper time to use the waiver?

-How long did it delay the process?

-What are my chances of my waiver being approved?
