My wife entered the U.S. on a K-1 visa and we recently got married. Filing for AOS is somewhat confusing. After reading that an I-693A is needed, my wife contends that she was never told she needed one at interview or medical exam in the Ukraine. She does have a booklet from her birth with vacs but all in Russian. So are records needed? Also since it does take some time to get AOS, is it in my best interest to file I-765 so she can work earlier while I-485 is processed.......or is a waste of another $200? Thanks for your help!

Wow......glad my girl is in the Ukraine where the cost at one facility is $75 and the other is $100 American dollars. Results are picked up same day. Kind of feel like I am getting a deal compared with everyone else

Does the consulate in Ankara have a website where you could download "packet 3" and email or fax the required checklist form. From what I hear, most people don't wait for packet 3 to arrive at their doorstep and save themselves a lot of time by doing just that. Just something that may help you out if you haven't thought of that already. Good Luck!

Since I had an RFE, I had no idea when I would get approval especially with the fiasco of the new immigration law. Well finally I got my NOA2 after about 98 days. For those of you still waiting, keep the faith

Just curious as to those who have had an RFE and what time elapsed between them receiving corrected info and you receiving NOA2. Thanks!

To clarify the question, the two identical passport-like photos have to have your names printed in pencil not ink. Who knows why but that is the story. Don't know how long the wait will be for the RFE to process.

You got an RFE because your names where printed in ink and not pencil.....on what??
I have noted members getting more then one RFE but generally not as anything not submitted or complete is included on the one RFE.
I think I got a hard ### at the CSC. And I thought I would sail right on through this process. lol I must have reviewed my application a hundred times before I submitted it and I was sure everything was good to go.
I am curious too......what did you print in pen rather than pencil?? Was it on your passport photos or what form?????
Our names have to be in pencil on each passport-like photo

When receiving a RFE, is it possible to get another one on a totally different issue? Our names were printed in ink not in pencil so I had to resubmit them. Hopefully there won't be anymore delays. What timetables are we looking at for RFE's to process at CSC?

It's spring break for many Caliifornia students and I think the CSC employees think they are students too. Not only are they taking this week off, but the whole damn month off. F*@@#ING INCREDIBLE!

Does anyone have an educated guess as why Vermont kicks out NOA2 approvals within days after first NOA? Why doesn't Vermont take some of the heat and help out those other service centers that are inudated with K1 visa apps? We all paid the same fee in filing K1. I know others have waited a whole heck of a lot longer than me and they must be even more irritated at the disperity of the service centers approval days namely California versus Vermont.

My wife was never given any records on vaccinations from her medical in Kiev. According to this website, I need her vaccination card and take them to civil surgeon with supplement form I-693A. I can only find I-693 (complete medical) which is not needed. USCIS just told me to contact civil surgeon where medical was done to get records but I am skeptical that they will know what I am talking about and the time it may take to get from the Ukraine could take a couple weeks. I was going to go to a civil surgeon with her vaccination card and see if they would transfer the information to a portion of the I-693 on vaccinations. Has anybody had much luck with doing the above mentioned?
