  1. :D Hello Friends,

I just wanted to shout out a Happy Father's Day to everyone near and far who this applies to. Whether you are waiting for your father, your husband (father of your children) or grandfather to come home and be reunited with, I'm thinking of all of you today and saying a prayer for you.

hang in there. Remember, we have something very special that some have never known. We know what it is to love someone unconditionally no matter how many forms we have to fill out, how many NOA letters we have to get, or how many stinkin' checks we have to make out to INS and and how many nights we can go without sleep waiting and praying and getting mad a few times. We know the power of love and determination. Believe Dads, and loved ones everything will work out eventually. It will all be okay.

    Hugs to all the Dads.

Have a good day and know someone is thinking about you.

    Linda

  2. Dear Friends,

Is there an 800 number to call to check on the work authorization status for my husband? Or the number in general? I sent it certified a week ago but haven't even got back the certified receipt, I wonder if they got it.

I like to get the receipt number and go online to uscis.gov and check every week to see if it's been updated,

    Thanks

    Happy Friday

Hang in there everyone. I hope you all are having a good day!

    Linda

  3. Hello Friends,

Well, my husband arrived home last Sat , but with no work authorization. We went to the nearest INS office in the city, and they said with a K-3 the person doesn't get it right away. They have to apply... and send $180 to the Chicago office (more money, ugh!)

My poor husband wants to work so badly. I think this is why they make us do the affidavit of support to make sure you're going to be okay if they let your spouse in.

It's not that we're not okay, but with all those bills from Juarez and the hotel bills during the interview process...it's adding up and him having a job would really help. Our attorney said realistically it takes 2 to 3 months. Thankfully I'm a teacher so I get the summer off starting in 2 weeks.

I'm trying to be the positive one, but it's hard when my husband wants to work so much and he's so experiencing culture shock!

Has anyone else been through this part before? Normally, how long does the work authorization take (I-765)

    Linda

  4. Hi Everyone! It's me again.

We had to wait an extra 24 hours, but my husband got his VISA. He is on his way back home to get his bags and then will be coming home tomorow. I have been in a state of euphoria all day!

I wanted to ask you all a question.... do you know if my husband needs his ss# (which he doesn't have yet, we have to apply for it) to get a driver's license? He doesn't have a car and we need to get him driving!

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks.

Hugs to everyone still waiting. It's worth the wait, please believe me. As hard as it gets, when he/she is the right one.. you can do anything!

    Linda

  5. HELP :help:

My husband had his K3 interview today and the woman told him congratulations, you have your VISA, then he asked her a question about work authorization and she looked at him funny and came back and told him he had to come back tomorrow.

    What is happening!!!!???

We are both so nervous. I've been trying to keep my wits about me today and been praying ALL day!

Has anyone ever been through this before?

My lawyer said they probably wanted to double check him and since the time is 2 hours behind in Mexico, they wanted to wait until tomorrow so they had the results.

Most people get the VISA on the same day, why is this happening?

    I need encouragement.

My lawyer told me to be stong and not worry, he's optimistic.

He then said PLAN B would be hardship waivers and that could take 6 to 12 months.

I don't want to even go there... I want to think this is going to work out.

I need you guys!!! Please PRAY. PRAY that Albino will come home!!! Pray that they will grant him the VISA.

16 months has been so long... I don't want to think about another 12 more.

    Linda

  6. To all of you waiting, wondering and wishing you could see the end in sight. It does come.

My husband is waiting in line right now at the Embassy in Juarez, Mexico for his K-3 Visa Interview and I'm home from work glued to the phone (and not staying 4 steps away from the bathroom!!! Stress is bad on the intestines!!! )

Please keep us in your prayers today. I will post when my husband has the news! I'm praying and hoping God will finally bring him home after 16 months of waiting. We filed our paperwork after we were married in November. 6 months later here we are.... waiting for the inevitable.

Thank you to everyone for all your encouragement everytime I posted a question, a concern or a fear. We are all in this together. I think of all of you often.

If anyone in the future needs info on Juarez, I'm happy to help.

    my address maestramd@comcast.net

    I'm praying for good news.

    Love to all

    Linda

  7. :help:

    Hi Everyone,

    Happy Day after Easter.

I spent Spring Break with my honey in Mexico... The day I left for my trip to be with him I got the appointment letter! We are both SO happy! God Answers Prayer!!!

    37 days to go!

Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn in Juarez or know the number? I want to make a reservation for my husband during the time he will be there with his Dad.

I am going to try on Google too, but everyone here has been so helpful I wanted to ask you all

    Hang in there everyone...

  8. Dear Friends,

After reading so many posts of people who had had such terrible experiences with your lawyers, I wanted to pass along my lawyer's information for any of you in need of a good, dependable, honest immigration lawyer.

His name is Robert Kendall Jr.He is in the Washington DC area (close to all the embassies)

His office address is 2600 Virginia Ave. NW

    Suite 105 B (Watergate)

    Washington, DC 20037

    phone 202-342-5501 or 1-877-999-3859

I can attest that this guy is fantastic! He is honest, capable, and has been practicing immigration law for many years. He gets papers ready before they're asked for, always is available to answer questions and is polite, professional and encouraging. Sorry folks, I can't find his e-mail.. but you can call.

    Best Wishes

  9. Dear anyone who can help.

My husband and I met 5 years ago in Mexico and were married in Nov 05. (L) We have a lawyer and our i-129 was approved on 2/15. My husband and I have no idea how long of a wait we are in for. I can't seem to get a good idea from the website or from our attorney and one of the posts I read said that the embassy in Juarez didn't issue VISAS on the same day but the person had to wait 4-6 months!!! :( My attorney told me the whole point of the K3 was to unite married couples as quickly as possible. 6 months, plus the 3 we've waited so far is almost a year!

Has anyone been through this experience and can anyone give me an idea of how long it takes?

I know right now according to our attorney, that we are waiting for the National Visa Center to receive the info and then we do more paperwork and my husband can go to the embassy to file the K3.

Can anyone help me with any info?

I'm grateful for any info. I'm glad I found this website.

It's the worse thing in the world to be married to the love of your life and be so far away. I've been to Mexico 7 times just this year and I want my husband home!!!

    It's so frustrating.
