  1. Hi VJ members, happy to report that I became a U.S. Citizen yesterday along with 69 other people. The ceremony itself was short but the end was so rewarding.

Wanted to thank everyone on this forum since I'm not sure how I would have gotten through this process on my own. I may even miss the hours I spent scouring through the site just to relieve the worry of when a notice will be sent, or what it really means once it has been sent (then again maybe not?). Wishing everyone a speedy and successful end to their journey

KASH2011 please update me. I am now a citizen of the U.S. As of 4/13/15. Thanks for all your help.

  2. Had my interview today here is an overview.

Interview was scheduled for 2:15 got there around 1:20, after working off some nervous energy outside I entered the bldg and went up to the second floor where I was checked in. There were about 10 other people in the room waiting, quite a few people came in after me and were called in to be interviewed before I was. Finally around 2:25 officer came to door number 3 and called my name.

I was taken back to the interview room swarn in, and was quickly told that they would waive the reading and writing test because I have been a permanent resident for many years, and English is my first language. The officer then proceeded to review my application by asking me to verify information from each page. Once completed she proceeded to ask me what appeared to be random questions from the 100 civic questions, she then stop after six questions and told me I had passed. The spelling of my name was then verified and I was then told I had a choice of Oath ceremonies, one in my hometown on April 26th where there wasn't a guarantee they would be able to fit me in, and the other on April 13th which was a sure thing. ........of course I went with the second option?

The most difficult part of the day was the length of time it took for them to call me to the back for the interview since that time was mostly spent worrying about what was coming next. In any event I'm happy this part is over and the end of this process is not far ahead.

Please update ......My oath is scheduled for 4/13/15.....oath letter was handed to me five minutes after interview?

  3. Hello everyone!

I had my interview today. Me and my husband arrived around 15 minutes early. We waited for almost an hour, but the interview was quick and easy.

Oat Ceremony is on April 13 @11am. Please update. Thanks

Congratulations to you both looks like your journey is almost over. Could you tell us more about the atmosphere at the Philly office? What was the reason for the long wait before interview? I'm heading there for my interview on Monday. Hoping everything goes smoothly.

  4. Had the interview today in Buffalo. Waited under 30 minutes. Waiting room had about 10 other people.

Got through the entire thing in about 15 minutes, totally painless. Next oath ceremony local to me is in three weeks, but I'm unavailable, so selected one in a month instead. Wife goes tomorrow and the guy said she could probably have just come in today, but I didn't know that and didn't want to mess with anything, plus what's another 90 min each way? :)

A couple of people were there with their lawyers, one of whom was being scolded by his lawyer next to me about having a better attitude about some legal problem he had in the past.

    Congratulations! Happy everything went well.

  5. Thanks.

Absolutely! I feel like a bird right now. It ain't even like I was in any kind of prison with the green card, just something about getting it over with and not having to deal with immigration again.

Yes, I got my invitation to the oath ceremony on the spot.

Love your description...... Hoping to have the same soon?

  6. I passed my interview and was recommended for approval. She asked when we stopped living together and i told her right about the time i was approved, she wanted a specific time and i gave her the month which happens to be the month after the ROC was approved. She didn't ask for my tax transcripts or mentioned anything about my ex's child. Thank God this immigration journey has finally come to an end.

    Thank you all for responding.

Congratulations must be a relief to be almost done. We're you given an oath letter?

  7. Lucky--they never sent any enotification for me/wife on our interview. On our initial NOA only. It's always a treat seeing these things move along!

Yes seems like they are very inconsistent. Is this because my case is now at the local level? In any event I did get an email an hour later letting me know my case was updated. I will feel better when I get the actual letter in the mail. Do you know approximately how soon that happens?

  8. Received email below today. Please update, one more step.?

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

  9. Congrats! Mine shouldn't be that behind then. Hopefully soon! I have so many plans in between biometrics and the actual interview. I know there will be at least 2, 3 months before i will be scheduled to appear ,so i will use it vacationing! Helps pass the time faster!

I'm sure yours will be in the mail next week. Wish I could vacation too, just to keep my mind occupied elsewhere.
