Hello, I looked in the forums and I couldnt find it so forgive me for making a new topic!
If anyone could post all the forms needed for a Green Card that'd help me a lot! I heard they are 8. I need them so i can fill them out and mail them
Thanks in advance! -
Okay people I'm not using my husband to get a green card don't be ridiculous. I got all of my answers thank you everyone.
-
Yes that is what I was hoping for Just need to come up with 1000$ for the first two forms.
-
No how can I work illegally? If that was the case I'd have done it to get money for the green card. But I'm not going to. I'll try to work things out in my marriage.
-
OP wants to be able to visit her Aunt.
That and I'm sure y'all have heard how Greece is at the moment and I don't really see myself having a future there anymore. I love America and I'd like a future here but if I can't come back...

hi
you don't have to stay married, you can divorce and return to your country, as said, face the ban. there is no obligation to stay married if things aren't going well
If I do that, the odds of me applying for a visa before coming to the US and it being approved are extremely low. I can't risk that I want to be able to come here again

I see...thank you everyone I was just going to fly out without knowing I can get a 10 year ban. Thank you for your help.
-
hi
nope you overstayed so you have a ban no when you leave, you will trigger the ban
whether it can be 3 years or 10 years
overstay is forgiven only if you adjust status and get a GC through a USC spouse
So there is no other option for me other than stay married and in the US..?
No, it means absolutely nothing unless you adjust status based on that marriage while you are still in the country. In that case, and only that case, is your overstay forgiven.
Is Adjust status the same thing as a green card? does it cost the same?
-
Tricky seemingly in Greece.
You will need to apply for a B2 and if within 3 years hope for a waiver as well.
Overstay a year and you are looking at a 10 year ban.
Doesn't the fact that I'm married mean anything? It is the reason why I overstayed in the first place..

No
If you could not afford to adjust status how can you contemplate future vacations in the near future to NY?
I do not have 2000$ right now. If I were to go back to my country I'd get a job and save up to visit my aunt.
No, which is why you shouldn't have followed this particular path. There will be no greencard unless a USC spouse files to adjust your status.
If you had done an I-130 for a CR-1 visa while you were still in Greece, you would have had the greencard from day 1.
I did not know I was going to marry. I applied for a tourist visa to come see the US and meet with him.

I have an aunt in NY who I'd love to see again. Okay so how about I get a divorce and move to NY? Will I be able to get a green card then?
-
We did not. I kept bugging him to do my green card but the money was too much and still is.

So I came here last March on a tourist visa (ESTA) to meet someone I have been talking to a very long time. We decided to get married after a month of me staying and I said yes. But 11 months later and things are going really, really bad. I have no green card yet just my passport. If I try to get a divorce and return to my country, will there be any consequences? I'm terrified.

I came here on a waiver visa. My intent was just to meet with the guy but he proposed to me! and now i have overstayed. Is there anyway i can renew a waiver visa?
-
Oh, my bad. I just wanted some answers on the visa fraud.

I believe it was www.nolo.com

Hello everyone this is my first time posting here and I'm glad I found this website. Okay here's my situation. I came to the US from Greece to meet someone I have been "online" dating for a year. We weren't planning on getting married but it sort of just happened after he finished bootcamp (he's in the Navy). My visa expired 3 months after I got here and we got married on the second month. I have been reading stuff online that over staying is a fraud and I won't be able to get a green card cause of that. Is it true?
Need the forms
