  1. Omg I had thought that my wife might be coming home this weekend after an approved interview last Thursday. We even were able to pay the Ellis fee. Now though as I was hoping to see the status change to issued last night it has instead changed to the dreaded AP. It's still that way tonight and all the stories about people waiting for months with that status are running thru my head. I just want it to be over and reunited at last. ?

  2. My daughter's case status was "Issued" same as mine. However, i have just noticed that her status again changed to "Ready" but mine remains as "Issued". Someone please explain the meaning

Could you post a quick summary of the interview? My wife's interview is next week and she is getting a little nervous. If she could read of someone else's experience at the Nairobi embassy, it might ease her fears. thanks!

  3. Al & Deidre,

We are in the same situation as you (i130 in progress and wanting a visit). My wife applied for the B2 and was denied. She owns land has a good amount of cash in the bank. We basically told them that being I have limited vacation and my visits to her were limited to a week or less at a time, we'd like to spend more time together as we were waiting for the process to complete. the official told her that she would probably be approved if not for the i130, but because of it she'd have to wait to "live happily ever after in the U.S. till after the i130 process was complete. We don't really think it was a waste as she was inside the embassy and had an interview so she will feel much more comfortable when she has the immigration interview next month. It would be very nice if it were easier and if they (our U.S. government) actually trusted people that were working through the system legally to get into the U.S. but sadly that isn't the case.

  4. I received my interview date (10/5) by calling the NVC last Tuesday evening (9/15) and again on Friday morning (9/18). So far, I have not received the P4 email appointment letter and my file still shows 'At NVC' on the CEAC website. Should I be worried?? OK, I am worried ... but do I have a reason to be worried?? Do I need to call the NVC again??

    :clock:

It took approximately a week after my wife's interview was scheduled before we received our P4. I know you'll worry anyway (I certainly did), but it's not abnormal so the interview is still moving closer and you'll get the P4 in time to schedule the medical appointment. Good luck!! You interview is a couple days before ours.

  5. It is said here that you'll normally get the email within 48 hours of the interview being scheduled. However, I have just had my interview scheduled last Thursday and have not yet received mine. I have seen others post here that they also are awaiting for the email as well. I see your interview is scheduled for 10/20. I would go ahead and schedule your medical for a week or more from now and your P4 should be there by the time you need it.

  6. I can speak from our experience. Last month after having our petition forwarded to the NVC, we decided that if this was going to take 3 or so month more, my wife would try apply for a B2. She interviewed and the CO told her he had good news and bad news. The good news was that in a couple of months she will be spending the rest of our lives together without having to return to Kenya. The bad news was that because she had an immigrant visa pending, she would not be given the B2. She was also told that she had enough ties to have obtained the B2 were the immigrant visa not applied for.

  7. I think everyone on here feels terrible for the people from Pakistan. I hope someone can find out what happened. Everyone at this stage has already had their patience stretch beyond imagination and then just when they've reached this last wonderful step and the end actually has a date associated with it, the rug is pulled out from each of you. My wife and I pray you'll get a new date this coming week.

  8. I'm stuck on not being able to pay the AOS fee. I talked to the NVC today (as this is a daily thing for me now) and they advised that I can mail the fee and admitted that they are still having problems with their web site. he also stated that mailing it in would mean that there would be an additional 3 weeks of processing time. I've been trying to pay this since 7/10 and wish I would have mailed the payment then.

What does anyone think? mail the payment or hold out and try wait for the website?

I'm in the same situation as you. I was able to submit the DS261 on 7/10. I try every day to pay the AOS, but I'm getting the same message as you. I called again today to the NVC and was told they were going to flag it for a supervisor to look at it as I should be able to pay the AOS fee now. They also said I should be able to pay the IV fee in a week as they reviewed my DS261 on the phone today too. I'll keep you advised when anything changes. Can you also post if anything changes for you?

    Thanks,

  10. Mrs N,

It took my case 12 days from approval at TSC until the NVC acknowledged receipt. It took another 2 weeks until I was able to get the case number. I was then able to submit the DS261 in another 4 days which was on the 10th of July. I'm still waiting to be able to pay the AOS fee but I received instructions from NVC yesterday. I hope this gives you an idea of the times things will take.
