I can't believe i left this info out of my original post about approval (guess I was too excited and not thinking clearly) but i did contact my state representative; they put in an inquiry last Monday and on Wednesday night (2 days later) I got the NOA2 approval.
so maybe that had something to do with it or maybe not, but in my opinion it is worth a try for December filers to contact their state representatives. maybe since it's been 6 months, TSC would rather just hurry up and process yours than bother with responding to the official inquiry... i had also been cynical about that helping but have to consider at this point that it could have made the difference!
I'm not sure anything can make it go quicker for you as an individual. From what I gather, people on this site as a whole has had some impact on the decision for some applications to be sent to CSC to help clear the backlog at TSC?
My fiancee's family are going to contact their state representatives to try and see if they can find out the status and even nudge a little... they didn't share my cynicism that it would make no difference! Guess it doesn't hurt, though!

Been checking this every day and grateful to everyone here for encouraging and commiserating with each other through this process... I just got my NOA2 approval so hope everyone else does soon too! My NOA1 was Dec 11 and got the approval text about 9:30pm EDT tonight. Fingers crossed for all you other December friends as well!

I found the representative for my district who serves in the House of Representatives (not the Senate) and went to his website, which included instructions for immigration inquiries. You can use this website to find a list of representatives for your state and then view the district maps to learn who represents you: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members Then find that person's website and you can contact them through there. I had to fill out a form giving them permission to look into my case but it was pretty simple. Hope this helps.
