  1. Hi all,

Received my interview letter yesterday, and it says to bring ID ect but also gives a list of documents to bring if not submitted already.

The documents are pretty much all documentations submitted with the I-864 and all info on petitioner and joint sponsor.

All these doc's were submitted with my application- should I bring it all again just incase?

They also say to bring a certified copy of our marraige cert- can this be a copy of the original? or should we give them the original?

Even though we've submitted everything, I'm afraid of them asking for something extra when we show up .

  2. That part is total household. For him and his wife combined.
Its the figure on line 22 of the form 1040 (I didnt have the 1040EZ)

Part 6 "current individual income" and part 6.10 Current household income should be the separated figure, and should be the same.

And when they look for that figure, it should either be on a letter of employment, or the most recent W2 (2014) which you should supply.

Basicially dont give them any opportunity to say they don't know the joint sponsors income only. I got an RFE because they couldnt tell the Joint sponsors income from his wife's, thats why the W2's and tax returns are important. The extra breakdown you provide is just to make 100% you don't get some idiot who's to lazy to read the evidence for himself.

  3. Thanks for all the kind response! I have found a new joint sponsor! But I have a little question, they can't provide 2014 tax return for me right know until April, but they can provide 2013 tax return, W-2s,1099s, employment letter and pay stubs from the previous 6 months without problem. I just want to respond RFE notice as soon as possible. Would that be a problem?

No, because on the form it only asked for 2013 (2014 is not requested until the end of march when the form expires-they have a date on them)

If you have anything for 2014 that will perhaps back up evidence like W2's, I'd send them.

I recently send my I-864 for joint sponsor and sent:

W2's1099's and IRS tax return for 2011,2012,2013

    Letter of employment

    W2 for 2014

    6 months pay stubs

    Joint sponsor Birth cert

Make sure the joint sponsors income on his tax return is not filed jointly with his wife , if so, then a breakdown would need to be provided (simple seperation on his income from his wifes on a page, supported by evidence from his w2's.

  4. So you're complaining about a country, which has 33 million people to feed, vs your country which has 4.6 million. You have the choice to buy organic. By doing so you increase that market and make it more profitable for people to grow that way and thus cheaper for others to buy that way. It's not always twice the price, but since the median income for the USA per household is almost twice that of Ireland, you should be alright.

Also you can have your own garden or farm and raise whatever you want in whatever manner you choose to. Since there is available land in which to do so.

Firstly, Its 330 million people to feed, recheck your figures.

Secondly, not complaining. Replying to a thread asking whether I liked American food or not, and i don't- and I'm explaining why.

Not everyone has the choice to buy organic. I have been without a work permit for 5 months- My husbands income alone has not been sufficient to buy organic, but We can when we can, so don't assume things about people you know nothing about. When I was working back in Dublin, part time I could find affordable organic, HighFructoseCornSyrup FreeTransfatFreeGMOfreeArtificialFlavourFree food cheaply, and locally.

Also it would be nice not to have to spend an extra hour shopping because you need to read every single label of every item you pick up.

Dont take just Ireland- take Europe as a whole- still doesn't allow use a lot of the controversial food methods the US does.

Also about the median income- I don't buy into the whole "America has better opportunity for all ect ect"- it depends. Its specific. Doesn't apply to all other western, modern countries.

Immigrating to a country doesn't automatically take away your opinions- I don't like US food in comparison to many European countries, think its dangerous (and it is dangerous) and Il tell people when asked, like this thread asked.

    Don't get so upset :dancing:(F)

  5. Hi Brit,

Nah i lost the job. an RFE for initial evidence relating to I-485 or I-765 does reset the time frame. So if you have job offer letters, local congressman contacts, bombard USCIS with it.

We got 2 RFE- the second one we recieved on the 1st of Feb. For I 864 Joint sponsor documents. We sent it, they received it the 13th, I requested another Service request, emailed my Local congressman again. I did get a letter saying my Service request was denied because my I-765 was within regulatory timeframe "90 days from the response to RFE" but on the 25th of February they updated my EAD and AP to card production ordered.

Not sure whether it was the congressman or maybe just the response that motivated them to do some bloody work :ranting: but either way Im happy. GC is still pending, but at least sometimes happening.

Any questions with your case let me know, I'd be happy to help if i can

  6. I hate Hershey chocolate. That is not real chocolate, it tastes like sand in your mouth, while European chocolate just melts in your mouth! Wonder why Hershey chocolate is banned in Europe? There is nothing real in it. Poor american people, if they would know what real chocolate tastes like, they would never again touch Hershey.

    I know!

My husband is american and he's been to Ireland loads, after trying Irish/european food, he hates US food

Hersheys isint banned in europe is it? I can buy it in Ireland.

But Hersheys did take cadbury's to court about "similarly packaged items" and got cadbury's banned from producing chooclate to be sold in the US, which is kinda mean.

Now any cadbury's item you buy has usually been produced by hersheys, I saw a cadbury's cream egg yesterday, made by hersheys written tiny on the back!

Not really, I wouldn't live in a country I was unhappy in. Seems kind of dim.

Wow, really? you'd base where you want to live on the type of food you can eat? Not Job's, opportunity, the person your married to perhaps?

    Well, good for you.

  7. I currently live in the south of Brazil. You can't drink the water here. Most of the fruits and veggies are grown with pesticides that are banned in Europe/USA, and the chicken is pumped full of all sorts of hormones/chemicals that seem to keep it fresh for weeks. The food selection available is also very limited... Personally, I can't wait to move to the US with lots of delicious food options available to try :)

You'd think that Niceb but its nothing like Irish food, and if it tastes nice its probably extremely bad for you

Everything you've said about the veggies and chicken in Brazil and how its produced, its the exact same in the US. They have hormones in the milk and antibiotics in the eggs, plus they radiate the veggies. Most soy produced in the US is GMO and almost everything in the US has a soy derivative of it. they're are the organic options, but be prepared to pay twice the price.

For a heads up, A box of 12 donuts in the US costs more then a tiny bag of sprouts (not organic)

    And the Tea sucks. :ranting:

  8. I hate American food.

It is literally, toxic. For everyone saying you dont Have to eat the food- well no, maybe not if you have a well paying job where you can afford 4.50 for a tiny loaf of organic bread and 12 dollars for 3 organic chicken fillets.

There is healthy food out there- but its much more difficult to locate and is much more expensive.

I make my own bread at home with imported stuff, I try stay away from most of the meats, and eat only non antibiotic fed hen eggs and when I do want junk food, i visit the Ethnic foods section of Publix where they have Irish and UK foods which are significantly (ironically) BETTER bad foods then Hershey's #######. :dancing:

  9. Your joint sponsor has to be currently working. You cant (well maybe but itd be difficult to) sponsor a person to immigrate if you dont have a current income.
And you have to provide evidence of that.
Unless the assets are considerably significant, I doubt it would suffice.

Is there no-one else? Remember the joint sponsor doesnt need to be a family member, can be a family friend or whatever with a good job thats willing to do the sponsorship.

  10. HI Mochara,

I am dealing with a similar issue... How did it go with your RFE? Did you have to submit the I.864A?

    Thanks

    Hi Laucs72,

    I didnt submit the I-864A.

I submitted a redone I-864 with the joint sponsors W'2,s 1040, and IRS transcripts for the past 3 years.

As the joint sponsors income is filed jointly with his wife who is unemployed but recieved benifits, I did my own break down of the Joint sponsors income only, and provided his wifes social Benefits statements for the required years to support my breakdown (W2- Joint sponsors income figure / seperated from the Wife's Social security payments)

I also sent 6 months of pay stubs for the Joint sponsor, his birth cert, letter of employment.

I also sent a cover letter responding to their RFE.

No I-864A was required because I pointed out quite Clearly and Detailed how the joint sponsors income alone meets the guidelines. (USCIS are quite slow- make sure theres no way they can get confused- seperate everything clearly , label clearly, use post its, whatever.)

They received my response of the 13th of Feb and on the 25th they approved my EAD and AP, and my card was ordered to be produced.(woohoo!) :dancing:

BUT I also did ring and request a service request and did send an email to my local congressman again, once I knew USCIS recieved the RFE response, so that probably helped too.

  11. Hi all,

Recieved a letter from NVC today regarding our petition filed in march, that was approved in june.

    The letter stated

"The NVC has recieved your inquiry regarding your petition.
NVC has returned this case to USCIS"

We never submited an inquiry about our case.
We began the CR-1 process in March, but filed AOS in october, after the petition was approved. We also sent a letter to the NVC stating we have filed aos.

Why would they send this letter 4 months after?
Our case has been with USCIS 4 months.
Could they only be sending our approved petition there now?!

  12. Hi all,

Maybe someone might have an answer to this.

My husband filed immigrant petition I-130 in March (CR-1 process)

In October, I came to the US, and we filed AOS.

its been pending 5 months, no word so far.

Today we recieved a letter from the NVC dated February 10th stating

" The National visa center recieved your inquiry concerning immigrant visa petition . We returned the visa petition to USCIS"

    We never submitted an inquiry.

We sent a letter in October 2014 to the NVC telling them we filed for AOS, and that our papers would need to be sent to USCIS. Hardly an inquiry.
Is it possible they are only replying 4 months later?

Or that they are only sending our stuff to USCIS now, if they requested it?

    Definitely seems weird to me.

  13. wow, this is insane. I totally feel your frustration, You would think they know what they are doing...apparently not.....see this is what I got from the online status after filing for an RFE back in Jan...it sounds like next step would be interview? Finger crossed for both of us!!

On January 28, 2015, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxx. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. You should receive a decision or case update by March 29, 2015, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed.

Yeah, hopefully. they have so many fruad's that they make it difficult for decent people doing things the right way, its not very fair.

Yes i got that notice too and it stayed like that for 2 months. I did my biometrics in November and still got no word after 2 months, only in February, asking for another RFE. I got my congressman involved to, no luck either.

Youll likely get your EAD and AP before the interview. Interview and GC is last.

Hopefully if all is correct it will go right for you, but from my own experience, I'd say be prepared to wait. USCIS havent been very efficient, quick or even fair with my case, hopefully you'll get better people looking at your papers!

  14. Hi hiro,

Seeems like youve exhausted most options. Im the same as you, I was from a big city where you could walk places, get a bus into town, spend time in the city or join clubs, but where i am now theres not alot to do.

I mainly keep myself sane by running, going the gym, chatting online, talking to friends back home and the likes.
    I miss home big time:(
Im in florida and to be honest the area i'm in has alot of junkies and bad characters. not to mention vicious dogs that are not locked up adequately at all.

I'd say just keep putting yourself out there. a job will help you meet people, and maybe a class or workshop. I've considered zumba but I dont think the crowd that attend are my type. There a library here too but the people are insanely rude and hostile to me!

Maybe its my accent :secret: alot of people have no idea what i'm saying, it can be very frustrating.

Soon as i get my Green card i'm moving to another state!

  15. I get you. I felt like that after arriving to US and hearing about shooting or pedestrians hit every single day in Orlando. It was real and close. We lived downtown for first few months and was terrified of walking around by myself. After moving to suburbs I still felt strange and out of place but it passed and I hope you'll feel confident being by yourself soon. Maybe a google maps scout will help you familiarize yourself with the area and who knows maybe you'll find an organization nearby where you could volunteer, a library or a park?

Hi agnes, im literally in the same situation as you were in!

Im outside Orlando, and theres literally ####### all to do, no bus'es, people, anything really, its a very small town. but I imagine when I start working things will pick up.

  16. Yes they are idiots.

The USCIS people you ring and talk to dont know alot and give alot of the wrong information out, I've found that out the hard way.

I am waiting on everything. No EAD, No AP, 2 RFE's. it's been nearly 4 months since I filed.

I filed AOS in October 2014. Recieved RFE in November, they recieved my response in December and sent me a letter in January saying they reset the processing time for my EAD, from 31'st October (when I filed) to December 12th (when they recieved my response)

Then They also just recently-5th of february- sent me an RFE dated December 16th- asking for evidence. They forgot to send the 2nd RFE for 2 months, never told me my case was on hold since december 16th waiting for evidence they never asked for or told me about until Feb 5th. And I rang them up plenty during Dec and Jan and was told nothing.

Thats the kind of people your dealing with.

  17. Well after you send your Respone to their RFE they reset the processing time. if it was a request for initial evidence pertaining to the I-485 or I-765 then they reset the 90 days to the time they recieved your response.

    It sucks, but its true.

Theyve done it to me twice.
