Seriously this is getting so stupid that I don't even post in the daily threads anymore. Why does everyone feel the need to start their own thread ?
Who cares who started the thread ? There are some VJ members that I am not fond of (I don't think they know it though because I don't like to start drama) and when they start a thread I still post in it. The daily thread idea was started so we can have a place to go everyday and basically chat about what's going on in our lives. Well when there is six threads which do you go to ? Do you copy and paste your post into each one ? Do you pick your friend and go to that one ? What if you don't have any friends ? Seriously it's so confusing and stupid to have to think about this.
I say we need two people that are designated thread starters. They can communicate back and forth and figure out who will start the thread.
So if you want to do it volunteer and we can settle this.
(sorry if I sound pissy but when I want to come on here and share something I see six threads it reminds me of high school and I get a little irritated ... )

To me meterosexual men have always looked gay, acted gay, dressed gay ... but were straight.
Lebanese people do not look, act or dress gay.
Maybe I misunderstood ... but that's just what I have always thought.

So we're all talking about Lebanese people huh ?
Here is my opinion : Lebanese people love to look good. Men, women, teens, children and even babies. It's all about how good you look, what your wearing, etc. My husband and I take about the same amount of time to get ready. When we were engaged it took me way longer because I had long hair and wore alot of makeup. Now that I am 8 months pregnant I have shoulder length hair (that I don't curl, just straighten) and just wear eyeshadow, eyeliner, and lip gloss. He has to shave his beard. It takes him forever cuz he will do something (a goatee for example) and will come say "Do you like it ?" My response is usually "No, you know how I like it". So he's back and forth. He wears real nice clothes and never just throws something on. He wears cologne and always has gel in his hair.
Is my husband meterosexual ? Hell no. He can careless about what I wear. Meterosexuals usually have an opinion when it comes to any type of fashion.
So if you are going to call a Lebanese guy a meterosexual you might as well call all of Lebanon a meterosexual. Go into any mosque, arab restraunt, etc. You will see the Lebanese people are the best dressed, look the best, and are very social. It's just in our culture. We spend alot of time on how we look and the clothes we wear.

My whole family went to the airport. We all took him flowers and balloons that said "Welcome Home". When we finally got through immigration and we first saw each other we ran into each others arms. I even jumped over the little fence
After that he met my dad (he had already met my mom and brothers from numerous trips to Lebanon .. but never my dad). We then went to In & Out (it used to my favorite hamburger place ... now its OUR favorite). Then when we came home I gave him a tour of my parents house, took him inside my room and was talking a mile a minute when he stopped and just pulled me to him and kissed me
Then we all stayed up till 12 talking and we went to bed (seperated rooms .. we weren't married yet). The next day I gave him a tour of the city where I live and we snuck into the house where we live now and "spent time with each other".
Seriously though don't plan anything huge ... all they want is to see you and spend time with you. They can careless about the romantic stuff.

I don't want a plastic one ... I want a real one. Do flower shops make them ?

My graduation is tomorrow !!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAY ! I will be walking across the University stage with honors and 8 months pregnant ...
Does anyone know where to buy Lei's ? (I want to get leid ..
that was the biggest joke in high school). I really want one and Ali wants to get it for me we just are clueless as to where you get them from.
My entire family will be there to cheer me on (and catch me if I fall from all the wobbling I've been doing). Inshallah it will be a beautiful day and a beautiful graduation.
Today we are going shopping for an outfit to wear and honestly I am not looking forward to it. I'm getting sick of maternity clothes and I don't want to buy something too fancy cuz I know I won't wear it the next couple of months. Wish me luck

I am looking for the pregnancy thread and can't find it. What happend to it ?
-
Hmmmm let's see I am 30 weeks pregnant (7 1/2 months) and am really not enjoying it anymore. My back hurts all the time. Yesterday was really bad. My whole body was aching and I was so nauseated. I turned to my husband and said "How much longer ?!?". It seriously is getting harder and harder as the weeks pass by. I feel great during the day but in the evening it's like my body just cannot handle it. All I can do is lay on my side and whine.
Poor Ali.
Hope you are feeling better than I am ... LOL.
I am having a girl. Her name is Hana. She weighs approx. 3 pounds right now. Her due date is March 30th, 2007 (so maybe I will be the first baby shower ?).
Hana's nursery is almost done and is looking great
My baby shower is on the 16th and I am sooooooooo excited ! I cannot wait for the baby shower. I think it will seem so real when we have all the thing we need for her.
Total weight gain so far : 30 pounds

Congratulations MBP !!! Doesn't it feel soooo good to have something tangible in your SO's hand ???

Yousseff probably hears that women don't pray the first 40 days ... which is because of blood. When there is no blood you can pray. However, I can double check with my mom. General rule of thumb is whenever there is blood you can't pray and when there is no blood you can pray. Explain to him that most women have blood for 40 days and that is why he's thinking that.
Thanks for the tips on prayers ... I appreciate it

I cut my hair this weekend
I love it , my husband loves it and so does my family. I was soooo happy with the results. My hair USED to be a little above the bottom of my back .... now its shoulder length.
Also, I had my cap & gown portraits done on the same day I cute my hair and they turned out great. I was a little sad at first because I thought I looked fat (I have gained 30 pounds so far) .. but everyone said I looked like a cute pregnant lady .. not fat.
Hmmm what else ? Ali and I discovered a new restraunt that sells the best shawerma we have had in our lives. The cool part is it's up the street from my OBGYN. So whenever I have a appt. we get shawerma.
Amera,
Your Muslim right ? When I go to pray and I isjood (when you put your head on the floor) my head hurts sooooooo bad. It hurts so much that instead of praying I just sit there and count the seconds till Ali says "Allaho Akbar" so I can get up. Is it fromt the access blood ? Did you have this problem when you were PG ? Any suggestions ? Thanks
Massouna

Wishing you a happy & healthy 9 months !
Welcome to the pregnant club ... and hopefully your DH won't be away too long. I couldn't imagine being PG without my DH there for every single step along the way. Good luck !

I have a Dr. appt today with my OB and I am sooo scared of getting on that scale
Last time I made the nurse laugh so hard. She said "Ok Massouna get on the scale" and I sighed real deeply. So she said "What's wrong ?" and I said "Well I feel like I am on the Biggest Loser .. I get weighed every month but instead of it going down it keeps going up and up"
I know it's baby ... but I was so skinny before (if you were in the yahoo group you should remember what I look like) and now I feel like a fatty. Wish me luck
Sending Baby Dust to DollFace ... come on girl we need more members in our "Babies with Babies Club !"

I call Ali "The Mexican". He goes to english classes and seriously he knows more spanish now than I do. What was one of the first things he learned in English class ? "Que Paso ?" Which means What's Up . I swear I was laughing so hard. When we see Mexicans (we live in CA) I always tell Ali "Relatives of yours?" and he says "Yeah ... I brought them over". Funny thing is when someone speaks spanish to him he just smiles and nods and they have no clue he doesn't understand what they are saying.
So yeah my husband will be trilingual when he is done with his ESL classes.

Lebanesemama - It makes me feel a whole lot better to know there are other married 22 year old moms out there. A lot of times I feel really stuck between my friends who are mostly still in college and doing that lifestyle and the older married people with kids - 'cus I don't feel like I fit in with either one!
I feel the exact same way. My friends are in college and all they care about is what their hair looks like, the perfect outfit and where they are going to meet guys. They say I have changed cuz I never want to go out with them. I say, yeah I have changed. First of all my husband is my number one priority. There is no way I am leaving him at home to go out with my friends on a regular basis (I'll only do it once every couple of months and it has to be a special event). Second, I am pregnant ! I can't dance, feel fat, all I want to do is eat and sleep and cannot stay on my feet long enough to straighten my hair. Oh and as far as the cute outfits ? HAHAHAHAHAHA. It's old granny maternity clothes for me (although I try to find cute ones ... but still I will never look 22 in them). Soooo my time is spent with my married friends with kids and my family cuz they understand me alot more than my friends in college.
As far as your dillema it's definately a Youssef thing. It's not a MENA thing. Sit down and have a talk with him ... and stop blaming everything on your hormones. Your entitled to have feelings. See what's up with him ... I have a feeling theres more to the story than you know. Oh and a mom of two should not be shoveling the snow alone. He does it and if you choose to help so be it .. but if you don't then it's okay.
Good luck girl

This a pictures of my family's village in Lebanon. Very green, peaceful and refreshing.
i can't see the village for the trees
Hassan II mosque in Casablanca, MoroccoDangit!!!!
I keep making the pic smaller and smaller and it just won't freakin' upload!
is it a bmp file extension? if so, use something like mspaint to convert it to a jpg, which will result in a much smaller file sizewise.
That's actually the mountain in the village. When I took that picture I was in the village and standing on the rooftop of my husbands family's house. Sorry to confuse you Charles.

This is in Baalbeck, Lebanon. It was a beautiful day and we got the most beautiful pictures.

I have today off
I have been treating myself real good in the third trimester. Today I woke up and made myself hasbrowns and eggs. I ate the whole plate. My next task is to gett off the computer, take a shower and get dressed and then go grocery shopping. We'll see what time that happens
Yesterday my diaper bag came in and I swear I was soooo excited I started jumping up and down. I packed it right away and it's all ready for the hospital (I know way too early ... but when your pregnant with your first baby you tend to get a little OCD). I wore the bag to my mom's house and showed it off. Everyone was laughing at me saying they have never seen a pregnant lady with no kids toting around a diaper bag when she is 7 months
OOOOOOOOOHHH and I will be getting a hair cut this week !!! Any suggestions ?? My hair is really long and I want sometime short. I have my graduation pictures on Saturday so I will get the hair cut Saturday morning. I want short hair for when I give brth and be a mommy. I have been with Ali for 4 years and have never gotten a hair cut (just a trime once a year) and he's finally agreeing that I need a hair cut.
So if any of you see anything that would look good for a 22 year old Lebanese mommy post the pics
