My fiancee just noticed this language in the requirements - The certificate must also indicate that the public office extracted the information from official records.
Should the Gong Zheng Shu include a specific statement to that effect? Has anyone had any issue with this specifically, or is there only one kind of Gong Zheng Shu.

Awesome. Thanks so much for the quick response.

Hi Everyone,
I've read varying stories on the K1 interview process at the Guangzhou consulate. Some have said that two days are needed (submit documents and get fingerprinted on the first, interview on the second). Can anyone confirm that this is still the case?
My fiancee has scheduled her appointment at GUZ, but it's just a single date that is referenced. If it is a two-day process, it's not clear which two days.
Is there any recent intel on this?

Thanks, DualityOneness. We'll be persistent in checking the site once (or thrice) a day and hope we get an opening soon!

I have been reading the forums for an hour but haven't been able to find anything definitive on opening of K1 interview dates at the consulate in Guangzhou.
One person suggested that all of the following month (i.e. July) would have been released on the first of June. This would mean that one should wait until July 1 to be able to schedule an interview in August (since there are no available times at this point).
Another suggested that all of the month after the following month (i.e. August) would have been released on the first of June. That would mean waiting until July to schedule a September interview.
Is there any rationale behind K1 interview times being opened for scheduling? Or should one just get in the habit of checking compulsively during Chinese working hours?

Thanks, DualityOneness. I appreciate the quick response!

Hi Everyone,
I have a question about getting police certificates from foreign countries where the fiance(e) lived (in this case, a Chinese national who lived in Japan).
I have gotten mixed information about how to go about getting the certificate - some say that it should be requested directly from the embassy of the nation in question (i.e. embassy of Japan in Beijing) and others say that a request from the US embassy (the one in China in this case) should be requested in person by the fiance(e) at the embassy, then delivered in person to the foreign embassy (again, Japanese embassy in Beijing).
Can anyone advise as to which of those is true? And, if the latter case is true, should the request from the US Embassy actually be requested from the embassy in Beijing, or from the consulate in Guangzhou (i.e. the one processing the visa)? And does this request have a special name?
Also, does anyone have experience with a Police Certificate waiver in China? If so, how does it work?

Sorry, I suppose I'm confusing two things - visibility of the process and the process itself.
The fact that there's less visibility (or a different kind of it) gave me the false impression that nothing is happening unless I'm calling and getting this info.

Thanks again for the info.
Is this the only way the case will move forward? Why is this not more obvious?

Thanks for the quick answer, Darnell!
If it's already been over 3 weeks since NOA2, and State is doing all these things without notifying me, is there a chance the case has already been received and sent to the foreign consulate?

I received a notice from USCIS on March 6 that my case was forwarded to the NVC. This is quite different from saying that the NVC received the case. I can't find any information on how the NVC will notify me that they received the case (or that they will notify me at all).
Should there be a 2-week-plus lag time between USCIS sending the case and NVC receiving it?
Is my only option to harass NVC with phone calls to find out the status and confirm receipt?

Idk where did you check, check this link https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do;jsessionid=abc6hQ6M6jKo_5dTpOIUu
and you will see that uscis updated their website on 11th Feb.
I can't seem to find the site within USCIS that I was looking at. In any case, it wasn't the right one.
Apologies for the misinformation.

It says June 25th for current processing time for K-1 visas at the Texas Service Center.
We got NOA1 in December and still have not heard back with NOA2....
USCIS just updated the site and somehow moved the date backwards from where it was as of end of November. It's now saying May 5, 2014.
How does that even make sense? Are they going out of order?

Yes, got an interview scheduled for next week. Was easier to get than expected.
