Thanks and one more question, on the form do I check legal alien allowed to work, even though i cant work until I get my EAD card

Once I get my social security card, which will have " Not authorized for work" stamped on it, because I'm currently awaiting my EAD, I'm on a K-1 visa, we were married in early May,

will I have to go back to the social security office to get a new card, when my EAD finally arrives. I'm just wondering if I should even bother getting one until I have my EAD.

So if I get a social security number now, and it says "Not work authorized" When I do get my EAD,

do I need to go back , to get the " Not authorized to work " removed from my social security card at the local social security office

I had my interview on april 29th, I was approved, but ever since i check the CEAC site a few times a day and nothing has changed, its still says ready and last update of april 29th, any idea how long or what i can do to find out more info, a number to call and should i be e-mailing them or calling them daily, or sadly have to wait every day and grow frustrated waiting for a change, We want to be together and be married by the next week was our plan, because I read everywhere that K-1 visa in Montreal were processed and couriered within days of approval.

I am growing so frustrated , Go thru all these hoops, Two expense road trips to montreal for medical and interview do every thing they ask get approved and then made to wait for an unknow reason GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

any advice help , opinions etc would be appreciated

I had my Interview on April 29th, I was given my welcome to the usa letter they took my passport, and every day since i check the ceac site and there is no update since April 29th , it still says ready. is there a number i can call to check my status, or do you have any idea how much longer. I read on this site some that have gone thru the montreal embassy, have received issued status as early as 24 hours after the interview, and some have even had their passport sent by courier, 3 days after.

I just want to be with my future wife.

please any suggestion or guesses as to how much longer i need to wait would be helpful in at least keeping me from pulling out my hair any more waiting

At the Interview , when you arrive at the Embassy, is there any more Forms to fill out, or do I just bring all my paper work required and present them when asked.

I ran into the same problem, until i seen this post, then once i switched to iv, i was ok , everything else is easy

it also ask me to enter the visa class selected in my DS-160 form, yet there is no k-1 option or fiance etc, at the non-immigrant or the immigrant online forms, I'm confused as to what one i should be at the consulate e-mail link sends me to the non-immigrant page to register for interview time

do i check i am a canadian national wanting to travel to the united states or one of the others, I am a canadian born and currently living here, if i check none of the above options it takes me back to log on and make an account again with the same 5 options

I just check my case number on CEAC, and it now says status updated march 13th, but doesn't say what is updated, when or how will I know what that means, Is there any way to check with Montreal Consulate or NVC to check on what Our status update means, are we getting a packet 3 or 4 soon. I e-mailed them my packet 3 on Wednesday march 11th, because I hadd seen someone posted on here that once CEAC said case was ready for an interview and you didn't receive packet 3 yet, you should sent it anyway so I did.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have no idea where to go, do I wait or can I call a number to check on what that new updated status means

Did they send you and e-mail or did you send your packet 3 after logging into CEAC and seeing it read, ready for interview, It will be a week next tuesday. since i send packet 3

I tried calling the Embassy/Consulate number posted on here, all it did was ring, then i tried the new DOS number and was told not to call them for K-1 visa info, call NVC for info

even if its at the embassy.

I want to find out if they logged my packet 3 and have sent packet 4 yet.

any idea what number i should be calling to check status. I also filled out my DS-160 and didnt see a payment option, how do i pay this fee or do i pay it at interview. I would rather pay it ahead of time

When I type our case number into CEAC, its says logged in, march 10th and ready for interview, do I now wait to receive packet 3, or do i download from there website and return.

I noticed on the Downloaded packet 3 instruction from Montreal's site.

Its says e-mail them back the checklist and copies.

then I see older post on here, where people have said you mail it to them express post etc.

Did Montreal change the way they send and receive packet 3.

I just noticed it now says E-mail the following packet

It says

you must send the following documents by e-mail

If so will they send packet 3 to me by e-mail, or should I just send it anyway since I have my number and the CEAC, says ready for interview

we got our notice in the mail that our K-1 was sent to NVC, now do we have to call them or will they send us status info, thru text / e-mail like they did with our NOA's or do we need to call to get new number or is there anyway to check status online. sorry if this is already posted somewhere, but I looked and typed in search options and didnt get any hits back that it was

Can my fiance , who is filliing out her I-129f, choose vancouver as my embassy or consulate, even though Montreal is closer, I hear that Vancouver is much faster at processing than montreal, & if it means more money to fly to vancouver for interview, its better than waiting months for Montreal

Is it this possible or do we not have a choice & she has to answer question 36a with Montreal instead
