  1. Good evening,

my priority mail packet finally made it to Dallas, TX after 6 days! It was a very stressful journey.. thinking it was lost and what not...

just right now I received a text message saying:

Your item arrived at the DALLAS, TX 75260 post office at 2:36 pm on April 15, 2019 and is ready for pickup.”

I made the mistake of sending it certified.. which means someone will have to sign. I’ve never gotten that tracking information before with any forms sent. I also see that it’s a different zip code from the one I sent to (75266).

    should I worry?

is this something that they do? Pick it up? I thought it would just get delivered and that’s it.

Thank you in advance for always being so helpful

  2. I sent my package April 9th, I did priority mail, certified mail, returned receipt... you name it!

    and still hasn’t arrived :(

I think I regret sending certified now...

    last update says:

    April 12, 2019
    In Transit, Arriving Late
Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility.

I sent two packages to Texas, one to a friend and she received it today! And then this one nothing...

    should I worry?

Assuming you didn't make a dumb mistake like I did and forgot to include something like the payment or a copy of your current green card, you should get the letter within a couple weeks. Even if you did do something dumb like I did, you still should get the letter within plenty of time of your trip (it took about a month in my case due to my error).

I’m so sorry you had to go through that!

i think all the paperwork makes us nervous, I mean it’s such a big responsibility!!!! But so glad it only took one month!!

I already have checks done and copy of green card. Hopefully I don’t forget anything! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

If you don’t receive it within 2 weeks of receiving notification of a receipt number, open a service request for non-delivery.

You actually have to call USCIS to request an infopass at a lot of offices now.  Let them know you’re travelling and that’s why you need the stamp, otherwise they will push back and tell you to wait for the letter.

    Thank you so much.

didn’t know I had to call for the appointments. I did try to search online and that’s when I came across the “no infopass appointments” hopefully I don’t have to stress that.

  5. Hello,

I would like to get an idea how long is it taking to receive the extension letter after you submit the packet of the form i751 along with everything else?

We just submitted ours yesterday, my husband's resident card expires June 8th and we have a trip to DR, June 13 :(

I read about a stamp, but none of the offices close to where i live are accepting infopass appointments.

    Thank you for your help!

  6. Good evening,

We have our interview next week and  as we were preparing the paperwork I noticed that they're asking for the certified English translation of each foreign language document.  When I first submitted the form 485  I included translation of the birth certificate as well as a divorce paper.

Do I need to pay and have them translated again? :( silly me did not make copies

thank you for for your help!

  7.  Help please!

I filed for my husband he came through a fiancé visa for the 485 on January 2nd 2016. We received a letter of intent January 19 that they have received the fingerprints.

we have yet to hear back from them.

we are tired of calling USCIS and speaking to agents  that tell us that nothing is wrong but then we have to keep on waiting,  we've also gone to our local immigration offices and met with agents that Also tell us the same thing.  It's been more than a year!

We are tired of not knowing what's going on and tired of waiting.

    if someone has any suggestions?

    :(

  8. Hello heo luoi,

Please be a little nicer next time you are responding to someone. No one is panicking and no one is slowing the entire system down. It was a simple question as to what to do or how to proceed.

And no you are wrong I have not heard anything from the EAD/AP either and yes it has been more than 90 days..

So now I ask you.. I should send a request for the EAD right? Since I have not heard anything from them neither have I done my biometrics appointment.

I always research before posting a silly question, but in this case it was just for extra information.

    Thank you for your input

  9. Good morning,

We filed for 485, 765, 131 on January.

We received the NOA that they had received our paperwork and then we have not heard from them. On the uscis website under the 485 it says since January..

On January 19, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC###... Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case.

But then we haven't heard anything else.

Should I worry? Or are we still on our timeframe?

Thank you for your future responses.

  10. Good morning amazing members!

First of all thank you for always helping! I would not be able to live peacefully without this forum.

    I have a question...

My husband's ID expired because of course his K1 Visa expired. We are already married and we already filed for AOS, EAD. I just have the first notice that says they received the papers.

I think for the Biometrics he needs to show some type of ID, but his Florida Drivers License is expired.

Is he allowed to go to our MDV and request a new ID? or do we have to wait until he receives his AOS :/

Also what would he have to take to the MDV to prove the paperwork is in progress..

    Thank you all !

    -Maria Karla

  11. Oh wow we are VERY confused with this.

Since the form we printed online the I-94 says "If an employer, local, state or federal agency requests admission information, present your admission (I-94) number along with any additional required documents requested by that employer or agency."

    And then the SS says

    "SOCIAL SEGURITY

valid for work only with DHS authorization "

    Oh what a confusion.

And the employer allowed this form.

    :/

Thank you everyone. We appreciate it

    Belinda:

The employer had him fill out that form i-9 :/

  12. Hi,

I got a question to see who can help me.

My fiance arrived on October 31st. We got married December 22. His I-94 which allows him to work expires on January 26th. We already send the paperwork for the AOS also including the i-765.

He just got a job and starts Monday. We are scared that after January 26 he won't be legally allowed to work. Is that how it works?

What can be done while the form I-765 is processed?

    Thank you!

    I appreciate everything

  13. Good morning,

I have a question for everyone that has had experience with the K-1 visa. My fiancé arrived a week ago. He had his medical examinations done in Cuba prior to arriving to the US. I am in the process of doing everything else he has to do, like Social Security drivers license marriage certificate and so on. I came across form I-693 about medical examinations but I am a little confused if he has to complete that since he already got medical examinations done in Cuba. I know this form is important because you have to submit medical examinations when you do the adjustment of status.

Can anyone help me with this?

    Thank you so much

  14. My fiance had his interview today at the US consulate in Havana Cuba. According to the man that interview him everything went good but our case request an extra administrative processing and that it might take up to 60 days.

Does anyone have any experience with this and what does it mean ?

We are devastated and would like to know what to expect.

    Thank you so much
