So I received an RFE Jan8 from a Nov filing because they said my husbands medical records did not have vaccines attached...go figure $500 incomplete exam...but regardless we did not receive the RFE physically until like Feb 1. Received his shots on Feb 18...uscis received his envelope Feb 22 through FedEx and I-485 approved Feb 24. message read:
Case Was ApprovedOn February 24, 2016, we approved your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status
Does he still have to have an interview? I know some people who did not have an interview.

Good Morning,
My husband came to the united states in april on a K1 visa. He has a 13 year old son who is of Haitian decent (father) and Dominican decent (mother). My husband has full custody of his son but did not bring him over to the usa with him due to financial constraints but had always planned to bring him within months. His son is staying with friends in the Dominican republic but since the violence has broken out we are trying to get him here quicker. Would we be able to get him here as a refugee? Anyone's help would be appreciated.

Hello all...how long did it take to receive the visa from the haitian embassy..
-
I could not go because I am undergoing cancer treatment. ..but they asked him how did we meet 2. Where do I live 3. Who do I live with 3. Where will we marry 4. What language we communicate in 5. How many times did we meet 5. My son's birthday and I think that's it

Are u dealing with haiti?
-
It depends...I was at the California center...do literally every document and approval I needed it took about a month. My packet 3 though I had to keep bugging haiti for and that took a little over 2 weeks. So my whole process was about 3months. We waited about 3 weeks to do our interview

Hello all...my fiancé was approved yesterday for the k1 visa...yay! We have a question though. He will not be flying from haiti but the dominican republic because he wants to see his kids before he leaves. Will this be a problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

He will be done in june but the noa2 expires in may.

But thats the issue we are not trying to bring him until he finishes school.

My fiancé and I will be performing our interview within the month at the Haitian Embassy. He has a son who is 12 and will be coming with us on this how follow-to-join concept. He was included in the DS-160 but his father wanted him to finish the school year out before coming. My question is are we to contact the embassy and let them know this is what we want to do...do we wait to let them know at the interview...anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. I worry about this matter because I have read some posts where they have done the same things and were ultimately denied. Don't know if it was solely because they didn't bring their kids but help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to keep flooding you but my process was done through a lawyer. ..do u think that helps. Also I am an American filing for a haitian...does that make a difference

I got you. I pray all goes well this time.

So sorry to hear that...but what does front load mean.

Why was your K1 visa denied, if you don't mind me asking
-
I have now found out why they didn't have it. It was sent back to NVC because it had been approved and ready for interview. They could have said that. But anyway...on our way.

I contacted the NVC and received my Case # and filing number that would allow me to pay all fees to the NVC. That was 3 weeks ago. My fiancé is now waiting to receive the document giving the ok for his medical exam from Haiti. When I reached out to the embassy in Haiti this is the response I got:
Thank you for your inquiry.
Please be informed that the beneficiarys petition has not yet reached the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince. It remains pending at the National Visa Center (NVC) in the United States. Therefore, we suggest that you contact the NVC to determine the exact status of your case. You may write to the NVC at 32 Rochester Ave., Portsmouth, NH 03801 or by e-mail to NVCinquiry@state.gov, or you may call them between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday. Their telephone number is 603-334-0700.
We hope this information is helpful to you.
So I am confused. THe NVC states its been gone but the Haitian embassy is stating they never received it.
Can someone please help!

I can only speak on CSC...but the wait for me was only off by about 3 days on approval projected. So it was very accurate to me.
Hope that helped...Good Luck.
