  1. I WAS APPROVED! ???

Really simple and fast. My appointment was at 10, but I arrived around 9.30am because I know their security always takes a very long time. Got in around 9.50ish and got my queue number. Waited only about 5 minutes before I got called up to the counter for document checking. Gave my documents in the order that they requested in an email the day before (birth cert, coc, passport pics, affidavit of support and all pertinent documents to show that I/ fiancée can support myself/me). The counter guy was super friendly, especially after he found out that my financés a historian(he was previously from the same line). After verification, he got me to sit back down and I waited another 10 minutes or so before being called up by name to another window, where I had to take oath and fingerprints before being asked about my relationship. I'm not one to remember dates, and I really don't keep track or scrapbook my relationship dates and events, so I stumbled a little, but I think the lady understood and was pretty patient with me standing there and trying to count months lol! She then asked me who prepared my documents etc and told me they were prepared very well (so thank you guys! ?). She then told me that my visa was approved and they would process my passport and amarex should have my passport in a week!

    Out by 1030am.

Very different experience for me. When I was applying for my student visa I remember being interrogated on a whole host of things. They didn't even ask for the further supporting evidence of our relationship. A little disappointed in that because I brought a musical Christmas card my fiancé sent me for Christmas- thought it'd be fun to have 3 French hens singing in the middle of the visa room.

Anyway, I'm so excited I can finally start preping for the green card. Anyone knows how long it'll take to be approved once submitted? Not looking forward to being jobless ?

  2. Hey Roy&Chanel,

On my way to the embassy currently ? I'm so excited! I've waited just about a year for this date and I'm so excited that it's finally time!

Will let ya'lls know how it goes soon! I'm pretty sure I've brought everything along thanks to everyone's help!! ?

  3. Hey all!

Just to update: I got packet 3! :D

They tried to deliver it to me on Wednesday 9 dec) but I wasn't home to receive it so I collected it on Thursday from the post office. So I scheduled a medical on Friday and went to get my COC on Friday as well as I was off haha!

I'm so relieved everything is almost ready!

I had a couple more questions, if anyone could help me out at all..:

    1) I have the DS-160 confirmation page, payment receipt, and the checklist ready to go, which is what the checklist requires of me. however on the page where I have to sign says that I have to enclose Form I-134 and Medical Examination instructions - does anyone know if I have to send those items together?

    2) what is the medical examination instructions? is it just the form that is in packet 3 that lists Horne and Chin as the medical provider?

3)What financial documents do I need to provide(for the interview)? is a bank statement enough?

  4. Ok so I've just requested for my vaccination records and was just wondering how do I tell if my vaccines are up to date? And also, how do I find out what I'm lacking? I know I was up to date per student visa back in 2011 when I initially went to the States for school, but I'm not quite sure what the requirements are?

    I know these are needed:

    MMR

    Boostrix

    Flu

    Varicella vaccine

But without a doctor or consult during the medical how do I tell if I'm up to date? I don't want to have to get shots during the medical because of the cost, and I doubt if I just walked into any old clinic they would know exactly what is required for this visa..

  5. Your fiance will have to send you that either a scanned copy of NOA2 or best if he can send it together with the other documents.

Your fiance needs to send you a copy of whatever he had sent for the application of the K1 visa. Anything that needs his signature has to be ORIGINAL (his signature has to be in ink and not a photocopy)

You will need to wait for Packet 3 before you can go ahead for CoC application. Meanwhile, check and see if you have all your shots UTD, if you do not have any of the required shots UTD, I would recommend you getting them from one of the travel clinics (1. cos some shots would require more than 1 dosage and minimum a month apart between dosages & 2. its cheaper than Horne & Chin, as appointed by the Consulate).

Upon receiving Packet 3, you can then proceed to apply for CoC, prepare for the medical checkup, and further instructions on what other documents to provide and how to proceed.

It would help to read through this entire thread to get a clearer picture of what to expect.

    HTH & good luck!

I was wondering what packets 1 & 2 were before your explanation hahaha!

I'm about to delve in to the whole thred, thank you so,so, much for explaining all that- you are beyond amazing!! (L)

  6. Hey guys,

Sorry to bother y'alls, but I literally just received the approval from USCIS for the I-129f (yay!) and I'm now completely lost in terms of how to proceed. I understand from my researching that TSC will be sending the approval to the visa centre, which will then send it to the Singapore embassy which I assume will then contact me to schedule a date for the interview? At least, I think that's what it is.

I really need advice on what documents I need to receive or send now. I know that my fiance has to send his whole submission packet to me, including another letter indicating his intent to marry and bank docs and all that stuff and also a copy of the letter he will be receiving from USCIS. I don't know if I should start getting the police clearance or is there anything I need to submit to the US embassy on my side now?

I am so lost and I'm just anxious to get this over with because it took 11 months to even get the I-129f approved and I don't want to have to wait 11 more to get married and start planning my wedding proper.

Thank you all so much for any help!

  7. Our case was submitted on January, but TSC is now processing February case status officially. My fiancé has made an inquiry and we have to wait till mid November for an answer but now I'm just worried that there was an issue with our packet? Has anyone else faced the same issue before? I'm freaking out because I'm so worried that they took one look at our application. And threw it out the window or something.

  8. It'll probably be about 1-2 weeks before you hear anything. It was the same when I submitted my F-1 and my OPT applications.

We're sending it in the next few days! I still can't believe we managed to scrap together all our documents within 2 days!

Hopefully we get the same interview date, I feel so awkward lining up outside the embassy alone haha!

  9. If you are talking about I-129F package ( not K-1 visa applications), yes, you will needed bank statement later - if the embassy asked for it-. You don't need to provide for I-129F.

I am not sure if F-1 visa holders are entitled alien number registration. But based on my experience, they will enclosed the number within NOA-2 hardcopy.

You will needed your alien registration number for adjustment of status.

I got an SSN and alien registration number because I worked when I was still studying and I continued on with my OPT after (:

Anyway I managed to dig it out- it was in one my old wallets yay! (:

Thank y'alls for all your help guys, I'm really excited to see what the future holds for us!

  10. Hey y'all,

I'm really new to this, so I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

My fiance and I just got engaged and we are trying to throw the K-1 Visa package together, which is kind of a lot to take in.

As supporting documents for our relationship, I have screen printed every picture on Facebook of us with the dates and comments on it. it goes back to two months after our relationship started right up to our engagement when I visited him in the States a couple weeks back.

I also have my old passport with my now expired F-1 visa with my entry dates, and also my current passport with the two stamped tourist visas for when I have visited him over the past year.

Do we need to both write signed statements on how we've met and the progress of our relationship over the past 3 years?

Is there anything else we need? Do we need his passport on when he came over to Singapore with me to meet my parents?

Also, I don't think I am able to find my Alien Registration number that I got when I was doing my OPT in the States. Would that be something I absolutely need to get before I file or it is not a matter since my OPT has expired (it's been a year since I was on that visa).

I would be really grateful for any and all advice from y'alls! Thank you!! (:
