  1. e-square12 now go get all the documents and proof of bona fide marriage asap!! Organize all of them in nice and neat folders, and let us know how the interview goes!! And get the honeybee a little something. This is news to celebrate!!!

On it! I have pretty much everything I need as I kept all the originals. Just need to get the medical, update some stuff and organize like crazy.

Did you get your interview already?

  2. 3,800 interviews got scheduled July 2015, per the appointment list at the embassy website.

I feel a little embarrassed by calling so much; I feel they can track each time I call

Call, yovanca02!!! Just got off the phone with the NVC - interview scheduled for 10/07/15. My CC date was 8/24/15; was told to expect the email/info in about a week.

    08-24-15.... CC

    09-14-15.... Interview Scheduled

    10-07-15.... Interview Date

Good luck! Hoping you get good news as well.

  3. I just got off the phone with them as well... lo mismo!! "As soon as an interview has been scheduled you will get an e-mail"

I think I'm just gonna let it go, I'm gonna stop looking at my e-mail 24/7, and stop calling. I am so discouraged by NVC and how robotic they are!!

Good luck to ALL of us

Well someone got an interview today from DR (CC 8/03), so I guess I'll go back to calling every day. :bonk:

  4. This is so disheartening. You do the right thing still get slammed with BS. My case complete was 7/31 and still no further than before. All we can do is hurry up and wait. I need this finished so we can start our lives together and maybe start a family IDK we'll see. Does anyone know if at this point we can get a politician involved? Is it worth it?

Just called the NVC. Rep says I need to wait and that as soon as I get a date assigned I will get the email... same BS as always. I asked if she could check if there are any dates being assigned for the Dominican Republic... she does not have that information and she can't check either.

I tried calling the embassy last week and got nothing either. Pretty sure I was directed to a US call center because the answers were scripted for sure. I will try calling the other number ("if calling from the DR") and see what I get. Just trying to understand if there are people currently getting assigned for October or if the embassy is dragging their feet with the available dates. The "Scheduled Appointments" list on their website is title "appointments_july.pdf" which includes interviews scheduled for August. It is already the middle of September and that has not being updated.

I do not mind waiting because I know that there and many people out there like you that have been waiting longer than me and should be scheduled first. What bothers me is the misinformation and the lack of proper support - just let us know if dates are yet to be sent from the embassy or if scheduling has not started for the DR.

   ...esto cansa

  5. Call now if you can someone on FB for DR in-boxed me they got interview. I don't know their CC (funny they wrong e whole message in Spanish). :goofy:

So call you still have 30 minutes.

I called this morning - no interview yet. I was told they are still working on October, but that they are waiting for the embassy to send them open slots.

That message you got on FB, did it say what type of visa it was? Was the interview scheduled for October? I can help translate if needed

  6. But nothing changes on the site. Even when you get interview. It's not until days or a week or so later when they ship your casefile out to the embassy he status will change t In-Status. Then once it arrives at embassy it changes t Ready and has a Status update date

What we do here is watch and wait I try my best to let people now when I hear a certain embassy is scheduling. Once you hear on VJ or Facebook you start calling. I have yet to hear anything of DR but that doesn't mean nothing is happening. If you want to know call NVC.

I have been calling all week, but nothing yet. :clock: I also tried calling the embassy today but all I got were scripted responses. Oh well...

    Thanks dwheels76

  7. Hello everyone, i am relatively new here and havent really posted at all. My embassy is in the dominican republic and my case completed on 08/03 still patiently and eagerly waiting for an interview, wich seems to have gotten going for october so i hope i get oneee!!! imagine, my first scan date was 12/21/2012. and it has dragged on because of unforseen situations (life) but know im finally confident it will be a short time!!

    Good luck to everyone.

Hoping we all get the good news soon. October is just around the corner.

  8. Sounds good. I for one am looking forward to hearing about your recipe of success

    Hey jayisis,

I'm replying here to help anybody else who may have the same question or concerns. Always check the NVC website for detailed information on the required documentation:

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I think I read the guides here in VS so many times that I just knew what to do and how to do it. After reading many bad experiences for simple things or even details that were there but not clear enough for the NVC, I decided to make sure there was no doubt in any of the information/documents I submitted. Below is what I included for my packages (same thing I listed on my cover letters):

    IV (Civil Documents):

    Document Cover Sheet

    ● Supporting Documents – Cover Letter

    ● *Translation/Certified Copy of the Beneficiary’s Birth Certificate

    ● *Translation/Certified Copy of the Divorce Certificate (Marriage Termination)

    ● *Translation/Certified Copy of the Marriage Certificate

    ● *Translation/Certified Copy of Biographic Data Page of Beneficiary’s Passport

    ● Two (2) passport-size photographs of beneficiary (case number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both)

    ● *Translation/Certified Police Clearance Certificate

NOTE: * = indicates photocopy of original document, certification/apostille [might be country specific, not sure], and translation.

    AOS (Financial) Documents:

    AOS Bar-coded Cover Sheet

    AOS Cover Letter

    Form I-864EZ (signed and dated)

Form I-864EZ Supplement - Additional Information (for reference only)

2014 Tax Transcript (did not file on 2013 and 2012)

2014 W2 Forms (Qty. X – sorted from most recent)

    Employment/Income Verification Letter

    Proof of Income

Pay stubs from the most recent 3 months (March 2015 – July 2015)

Proof of US Status (Birth Certificate and Passport Bio Page)

Supplement: I created a MS Word document with additional information to explain/support answers given in the I-184EZ. Example: I did not file tax returns for the last three years (only one - 2014), but I still checked the box because I included the most recent tax transcript.

I had a few issues/concerns that were specific to my case so I used that space to elaborate or explain my answers from the form.

NOTE 1: Make sure you use the correct income for the I-184EZ. You can find the simple and quick answer in the instructions for the I-184 (normal) - I submitted a copy of the page that specified which income I had to use based on the return I filed (1040 in my case). I highlighted that section as reference for the NVC officer.

NOTE 2: Place of Residence: I did not leave that space empty (last minute change). I rewrote my mailing address and explained why in the supplement (mailing and place of residence were the same in my case).

NOTE 3: I labeled everything (yes, EVERYTHING) with our case number using Avery labels (2/3" x 1-3/4"). You can buy those at Walmart or an office supply store. Make sure you do not cover any important information when using these. I mostly used the top right corner or the top center of the page to put these labels. MAKE SURE YOUR CASE NUMBER IS CORRECT BEFORE PRINTING THE LABELS.

NOTE 4: I used paper clips to hold groups of documents together - no staples.

Those are the things I remember at the moment. If you have any other questions let me know. Good luck!

  9. anyone got case completed???

i'm still waiting for my CC...

is it true that we have to wait 30 days for CC from the day NVC received our documents ( IV, AOS & DS 260 ) ??

I'm still waiting for CC as well. NVC received our documents on 8/04/15, so from that date we are counting the 30 days (yes, that is the current wait time). It used to be 60 days so I guess they are improving. Good luck!

  10. Congratulations Kaka26, I found a link somewhere in visajourney which walks you through all the steps. Take a look at the following:

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut#4._Getting_your_NVC_number

I can provide you summary based on my understanding because I just went through all this like a month and half ago.

NVC will take about 15 to 20 days to receive your case and record it in their system. They will than assign NVC case number and Invoice ID number. Afterwards they will send you a letter.

The total amount of time it took for me to actuall receive the letter after USCIS had sent the case to NVC was 1 month and 14 days.

What I could recommend is, call NVC after 20 days and try to get your case number and invoice ID number. Because for some reason, NVC takes long time to actually mail out the letter with instructions.

After you receive the NVC case number and invoice ID number, you should proceed to www.ceac.gov website and complete DS-261 form, Pay AOS fees and submit Affidavit of support documents.

This is where my case is at right now and I am working on the documents.

    Thanks

    Kaka26,

I would suggest you call the NVC at least once a week and increase the frequency as time goes by. In my case I ended up calling three times in two days because they were giving me wrong/different information every time I called. Turned out that my case number was assigned a week before but they were not giving me the information for some unknown reason. A week of delay in this long and hard process hurts, so be proactive and DO NOT WAIT FOR THE NVC TO CONTACT YOU.

    Good luck!

  12. AOS Question (below):

When I got my tax refund I received two checks instead of one. I called the IRS and they told me one of the checks was an erroneous refund sent in my name to the latest address on file for the SSN used. It appears that someone filed their taxes with my SSN on 2013 and it wasn't until I filed this year that the error was found. I returned the voided check to the IRS per their instructions and will be calling them back in about two weeks to confirm this has been removed from my records.

*Would this affect my NVC process in any way?* I have the transcript for the 2014 tax year and I meet all the income requirements, so no issue there. Just wondering if I should send an explanation letter with proof or if I should omit this issue as it is really not related to the process.

Note: The second and third tax years are optional, plus this year is my first one filing taxes...don't have those anyways.
