  2. I am a U.S. veteran, that has been living in the Philippines for 4 years now.

There are Typhoons here every year and the damage and home displacement is always high. Many many people here live in plywood homes and some use cardboard for walls, while other use tarps for walls and ceilings. The real problem here is the corruption of government officials and policemen and women. Countries keep sending millions of dollars and the majority of that money lines a politicians pocket. When we leave here we will never come back. Expediting Philippines Immigration is a humanitarian effort, but not just because of the typhoons. There is always more than meets the eye, or what you may see in print.

  3. DCF filed Feb. 11th,, Packet 3 received March 2nd, My wife worked as OFW in Hong Kong, so we sent the required documents for the police clearance. On the Hong Kong website it says that they will notify the Embassy with the results. My question is how do we know when to schedule the Physical and make the appointment for interview.... can anyone relay there experience with this? thanks

  4. Thanks! 13 days for I-130 approval, wow that's fast! They told me it could take 30 to 60 days...

We applied on the 11th of Feb and another couple applied on the 3rd of Feb. We both received our email with Packet 3 on the same day... March 2nd, perhaps they group the approvals together each month and notify all approvals at the same time. Or maybe not, could be the person that is working your paticular case.

  5. We completed everything and she just had a nasty attitude from the get go, t this day we don't know what she did, i told my husband we did not need her but he didnt listen and now we are in this situation where we don't know what is going on, it's so frustrating

We filed ours on the 11th also. We used direct consular filing and have no response yet. It may not be your lawyers fault. Sometimes I have better luck getting an answer than my wife, sometimes she has better luck, just ask your husband to call her and if no response yet don't worry. Call her once a day to check in, sooner or later you will get an answer. Best wishes.

  6. Not sure if this has any bearing, but, my wife is filipina and she said that after she is out of the country a certain amount of time (not sure how long) she will in effect lose her citizenship, she can get it back easy enough by filing the correct paperwork and paying the fees. She does not think it applies to being ofw, just for citizenship purpose of another country. It is why they call the Philippines THE FEE-lippines.

  7. That's a pretty tough question I guess... No response or answers.

Ok.. We filed the I-130 today 2/11/2015.

I'll try to keep up with the step by date. DCF filed in Manila, Philippines

They took all the paperwork, but not the pictures. She did have to have a copy and original of both our childrens birth certificate thou. I wasn't expecting that, but we had them with us. We have learned here in the Philippines that whatever is required will not be enough so take extra documents and never throw away receipts for anything related to immigration or housing.

  8. I have heard that the 125% of poverty income raises on the 1st of March of each year.

I meet the income requirements now, but just barely.

If I start the process before March 1st, how long can I stretch out the process?

I am asking because of Bills that need to be paid off before we leave the Philippines and to set up housing in the US.

I understand that it will take about 12 weeks because my wife has to get a police clearance from Hong Kong, where she worked as an OFW. But we may need another 4 to 6 weeks more to get everything finished here.

  9. Hello everyone,

New here but I have not seen an answer to my questions.

I have lived in the Philippines with my filipina wife since Oct, 6 2011.

We have 2 babies from our marriage. A girl 2 years old and a boy 9 months old.

I receive a pension from VA since 2010.

VA does not send w2's and I do not have to file taxes.

I have tax forms from 2008 and 2009 but that is all.

I have documentation about my VA pension being approved and the reason for the approval.

Is this documentation sufficient to show proof of income?

Our babies have US citizenship, but they were both born in the Philippines, we have they're CRBA's.

I have seen in threads that the Philippines wants to charge immigration fees for foreign born children.

This does not surprise me as the name Feelippines is appropriate.

My question is can we get US and Filipino passports for our children to avoid there fees?

If there are any other veterans here that used DCF I would appreciate any advice that you can give me.

If anyone has advice about the process for my wife's DCF or the documentation necessary for my children to board the flight back to the states with us, I would appreciate that also.

Do we all need to provide police clearance, brgy. clearance or any other type of clearance?

Do the babies need a medical clearance?

I have an ACR-I card 13A and proof of residents with signed mortgage papers.

But we do not have a lot of pictures.

If anyone has similar circumstances, can you tell me the most difficult part of the process?

The last thing is the I-864, The new form is different from the sample form posted here, can someone fill out a sample of the new I-864 so I can reference it to fill in my form?

    Thank you all

Lots of questions here, I appreciate any help.

    Sincerely,

    DVDM
