  1. Hello! I am currently working on my I-864 form for my fiancé and I. And I have a question regarding the income. My income is above poverty line, however I was a student until May last year, and did not start working until August 2015, so I did not have a full year of income come taxes in April. I was concerned that they may question my ability to sponsor him. Will this be a problem? Should I have my Dad fill out an I 864 as well, just to be safe? Thank you!

  2. Hello all-

My fiancé entered the country on August 5th, and we are trying to wrap our heads around the paperwork and timelines from here. We realize that we have 90 days from the POE to get married, but we are unclear on the timescales given to submit a I 485 form. Does the i 485 need to be submitted and approved before the 90 day period has elapsed? Does the I-485 form need to be submitted within the 90 day period?

  3. Here is my situation, my fiancé and I received our NOA2, with the approval notice from 4/07/15-08/06/15. Various circumstances have ensued and there is no way we will be able to have our visa in hand by this date, we don't have his background check or medical yet, so of course not the interview. When I contacted USCIS, they said that he would need to contact the US consulate to petition for an extension (he's in the UK), or else we will have to start all over. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else before, if anyone can offer any advice!

    Much appreciated,

    Jamie

  4. Unfortunately, the job he has is more making ends meet, and has not allowed him to have enough funds in his savings for coming over and being considered sustainable, so we need a sponsor.

Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the London embassy website! Very helpful! I think that provided me with the information I needed. The public charge provisions are 100% above poverty level? Is that correct?

    Thanks for the help!

  5. My fiancé and I are currently filing for the k-1 visa and received word that the embassy in London has received our paperwork, and we are gathering the necessary forms for his interview, hooray! As I am going through the I-134, I have a couple of questions that I was hoping a few kind souls could assist me with!

    1. I have recently graduated, but will not be able to start working until I pass my licensure exam next month. Long story short I do not have any income, and have not for the last 3 years. My Dad has agreed to be our co-sponsor, he will fill out one I-134. As I do not have any income, do I still fill out an I-134?

    2. As far as I can tell from the instructions he has been given, he just gets the original from me with the support documents and turns it in with his interview in London. Does anyone have a different experience?

    Thank you for the help!

    Jamie

  6. I was hoping to get a little advice on submitting evidence.

    1. My boyfriend and I have seen each other about 14times over the last 6years, I know my exact arrival and departure dates, but we do not know his exact departure dates. I am not sure how to remedy this issue, and if I should just give them an estimation, or not list the information.

    2. Did you hand write things out, like the visit dates, or did you type and just sign?

    Thank you!
