  1. We successfully crossed today and I would like to share the experience so to maybe help someone. We stayed at the CityJunior Express hotel for the interview. We had the hotel get us a taxi, and all of our bags fix in the taxi :-) we had a lot. My fiancee talked with the taxi driver and he said he can take us across the bridge and then we could get out and go to the office. We did not have to cross the bridge with all our bags. We just went with the taxi. We took the Zaragoza Bridge. Once we crossed we entered with the taxi driver as well. She check in, then a few minutes later handed over everything to the immigration officer. She said he was friendly and it went quick, then we got the bags from the taxi then had them scanned by the boarder guards. Then we met the taxi on the other side. Then our taxi took us to our hotel in El Paso. It cost 80 dollars for the cab but it was money well spent i did not want to have to see my fiancee cross the bridge on foot lugging some of our bags. So this was a better way. We were there about 9:30 10:00.

  2. Thanks everyone for their congrates and good luck to everyone else. I think it was on either the state department site of the consulate. I remember reading that somewhere. Perhaps I misread it as well. But glad to know that it can be in both languages.

Rob and Rod, It did not take to long to schedule the appointment, after you get the letter from the embassy just do the online ds160 after that has been digitally signed but the applicant and you print out the confirmation page you go to that site and pay the fee and then schedule the ASC, Interview, and pick the DHL location.

  3. First my apologies to the website admins, I tried to post under reviews but it would not let me. It said I had to register first but I was already signed in to the site. So I wanted to convey our experiences, in the hopes it will help out.

First this could help out the people applying from Mexico City. My fiancée was able to do the medical exam there and also the asc. So I would advise anyone from Mexico City to have the medical done there before you go to the interview. So we just had to do the interview in Ciudad Juarez.

The interview was scheduled at 8:15 on the 28th of July. We got up early then we headed over about 7:20am or so. We did make a mistake by going to the embassy check in before going to the waiting area and being brought over. But she was able to get in. I would recommend to hold her purse for her. Because she had to bring that back out to me then was able to get back in. The interview lasted about a half hour or so. She said the interviewer were nice to her. Also another thing is they interviewed her in Spanish contrary to what was said that the interviews are in English only. My fiance speaks English but felt more comfortable with the interview in Spanish. Just something that was different that what was said about the interview. We were worried about a time she had a problem getting into the united states and was stopped and sent back. She went back voluntarily. She was totally honest on the ds160 form and they asked if she was ever stopped and she told them about what happened. They checked on the computer and said yes that happened but it was not problem. Honesty is key, because they already know about what has happened and recorded in the past. So she was approved, now we are waiting for the visa to be ready, the status was updated to issued so we are hoping to be on our way soon.

We stayed at City Junior hotel. Its OK, rooms are not big but its a basic place and not too bad and the people are friendly. I hope this helps someone out there. And sorry again for posting in this forum and not in the reviews. It would not let me.

  4. I saw on their website they want anyone you did a ds160 before June 10 to resubmit another ds160 form I just saw this tonight and we are going to resubmit ours. She already had her medical and ASC appointment but they said all we need to do is resubmit the ds160 and bring both confirmations with us to the interview. So everyone check your ds160 submittion dates, call the embassy if you are not sure.

  5. Yes that is correct. But still we would be subject to that governments power too. I was just reflecting on the situation really. It helped me to relieve some stress.

This is just the first time I have felt the power of government affecting me directly. Affecting both of us directly. yes there is taxes etc.. But this time its really obvious. Always makes you nervous to confront the power of an official decision.

  6. Hello fellow visa journey members. This comment is more a reflection on this process than informative. I hope all your journeys go well.

My fiance and I are really happy and are excited to be having our interview and decision soon. I hope all goes well. That we have all our I's dotted and T's crossed.

This is the first time in my life and hers that our happiness and our ability to be with someone we love rest soley on a decision of a government offical. It seems strange

to me. We both do not have criminal backgrounds, we do not do drugs, we are just two regular people who love each other that happen to be in two different countries.

But it seems we are so close yet so far still. We have known each other for 20 years. Now our lives have brought us back together and we want to build a life with each

other. I get nervous that all of this all of our struggles to be together, all of our hopes and dreams rest solely on the decision of one individual that has the power to say

yes or no to all of it. It is a strange feeling when someone has that much power over your life. I pray that we have everything in order and we get the decision that gives

us this permission. The premission to continue our dreams together, the right to persue our happiness, our love, and our lives together.

That is all I have to say. I just wanted to share my thoughts. Good luck to everyone.

  7. We have sceduled an interview for July28. I saw they are having problems. We still have the interview that date? What should be do? I tried calling the embassy but the number appeared to not work? What happens if the interview can not be until after the NOA2 expires. ???? Any information on what is going on will be nice.

  8. I know how you feel. They printed out my signature cards which I signed the date the savings and checking accounts were opened. I got the years worth of statements too I also printed out the cash flow report for a year from my online banking as well. I hope all of this will be good enough. My current job I earn enough to what I need to be 125 percent. I also am curious. If I did ok too. But that is what I did
