Hey all,
Wondering if my CEAC status changing to "issued" definitely means approved? I've read some unnerving stories of people receiving 221g forms and no visa with their passport despite it saying issued so I'm hesitant to celebrate yet.
Anyone know for sure?

Hi both,
My status changed this afternoon to "issued" as well, so I'm hoping that means approved...I'll let you know when I get the passport back.

So it took about a week from when it changed to AP to then change to issued - glad it's moving forward for you. I'm dealing with the US embassy in London which might take longer, no sure.

Can either of you advise on any delevelopments? I sent a J1 renewal application via courier and my status has now changed to administrative processing also but I've not been contacted to provide more information or anything.

Hi,
I've had a bit of an unsettling turn in my application. It was sent via courier as the interview was waived for a J1 renewal, documents arrived at the embassy on Monday, was said to be "ready" for them to receive the application on Tuesday and then this morning the status changed to "administrative processing".
I'm pretty worried as I've of course read about this adding a lot of time onto the process, but I was wondering if anyone knows if either all visa applications go through this stage at some point and/or if it can actually be a quick process?
I've not received any communication from the embassy asking for documents or anything so I'm not sure what to do, and obviously I wasn't handed a 212 form as I didn't have an interview this time.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I sent in a couriered application for a J1 renewal (interview not necessary according the online appointment form). I've realized I answered the ten-printing question wrong, I couldn't remember so thought it safer to answer no but have read since that anyone interviewed since 2006 will have been ten-printed (I was interviewed for my original J1 in 2012).
So, my question is, will they realize I have been ten-printed when looking at my application as a previous record of my fingerprints will be linked to the application? Or are they likely to ask me to come in to have my fingerprints taken even though I had them done before just because I couldn't remember? Surely this happens relatively often...
Thanks for any answers,
Jen
Getting a new visa stamp from the USA
in Student & Exchange Visitor Visas
Posted
Hi forum users,
I'm in the US on a J1 visa, and have a current DS2019 but my visa will expire in December 2015. I am hoping to go to Columbia in February and so would like to have a new visa stamp in my passport - but can't leave the US without a lengthy stay in the UK waiting for the embassy to process the new stamp. So, my main question is whether it's possible to send my passport and visa documents via fedex or similar courier to the embassy from the US to avoid missing work and so on? Do they check when you last left/entered countries?
Thanks,
Jen
