I recently posted about the cancellation of our k1 visa.

My boyfriend and I aren't together anymore but I was wondering if this will effect me getting another j1 in the future.

I would like to go back to the US to work for a year October next year and I'm worried that they will see this visa application and this I'm trying to get back in to stay. Do you think this will affect my plans? I just love America and always enjoy how much of it I can see by staying for a whole year so don't want to give that up

I don't think thats for us though, as well as the family issues, we both want to be absolutely certain this is what we want before getting married.

Right now we're both young (im 22 hes 25) and he still lives with roomates and only new to his job out of college. We want to be more set up finacially and him possibly be able to afford his own appartment etc by the time I get there.

If we cancel it can we apply again though? I'm not sure when that will be. We have trips planned to see each other often,about once every four months for around a month each time so we would still have evidence of an ongoing relationship and meet the requirements of meeting in the past two years.

Do you think that if we apply again it will be okay since it will be a petition for the same fiancee?

My fiancee and I applied for our K1 back in october 2014 (and still haven't heard anything!)

Unfortunatly due to some family issues I need to stay in my home country for now, its sad to cancel the visa after coming this far, but I just wanted to check that if we do cancel it are we able to apply again say in a year and a half or so? Would that raise our chances of getting denied? Or is there a wait tim in which you can't do a second application.

Also are we better off cancelling the visa properly or can we just let it expire?

How long is your medical exam valid for? Is it best to wait for approval before getting it done or can you do it at the 6 month mark if petition is not approved yet since most likely it should be soon?

I was just wondering how long it generally takes between NOA2 and getting an interview time.

I was trying to find the Australian specific forum but I don't know where to look so I'm sorry!

We only got our NOA1 october 27th so I'm assuming we won't be approved until end of april or early may. But I would like to be back in the states before september if I could, the earlier the better of course but I was just wondering if thats a realistic expectation??

Also, my fiancee came to visit me and just left yesterday I have kept his barding passes and we got heaps of photos together while he was here, is that good evidence of an ongoing relationship? And I'm planning to send him a birthday present next month, should I keep the receipt/tracking number or something to do with that as well or won't that help?
