This is actually somewhat related to something I just posted.
The card is the approval notice. They often seem to send the email about it being mailed after you receive the card. If you have the card, don't expect to receive a separate approval notice.
In my case, the email I got was worded slightly differently. It said, "Card Mailed".
Thanks for the reply. I was just curious because with the initial conditional card they had sent 2 years ago, they also sent a seperate approval notice after receiving the green card.

I got my green card in the mail 3 days after I was notified by email. Then I got another notice by email saying they mailed out approval notice on Aug 25th but I have not seen anything in the mail. Just wanted to know how long it usually takes to receive that approval notice once you've been notified. I'd like to have it for my files, even though I got the card in hand already. Any ideas?

You guys were right about getting the card within a week. I got mine in like 3 business days since I got the Card Production Ordered notice. Hallelujaaaaaaah!!! I can eat breathe and live again! Good Luck to everyone else.

Congrats !!!
Wht time did you receive your email? Just trying to get a concensus as to if they are sent in a bulk in the mornings or all day long
Ok.. I was not expecting an approval for at least another month since last week there were filers in mid-april just getting approved. It is officially safe to say that I'm approved right? I can't believe I'm still paranoid. It says Card Production Ordered.
It says sent 1245pm yesterday August 21st, 2008.

Just wondering if there were any April filers with CSC that have gotten their approval yet. Just wanted to get a better idea of where they're at with processing. The timeline doesn't really get updated and its only a handful of us that really post on there.
Thanks,
Curious filer!

Oh wow.. thats the same day my husband and I got married and the same year too!! crazy!!! Congrats on your approval.

I have my 1 year extension and awaiting for my 10 year green card.
My grandmother is ill and lives overseas. Will i have a problem coming back into the US, travelling with just my extension letter? Or do I need to apply fro an AP???
Not sure how it works.
Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I don't know what do you mean by timeline. My conditional residency expiring on Jan 2009.
I'm confused. So you went for an interview in April 2008. What was that interview for? Your conditional residence expires in Jan 2009. So what are you filing for now?

We got the biometrics letter about a week after the NOA1. The biometrics letter is important since that has the actual case file number.
The appointment was scheduled about a month later. We went earlier in the day than was established by them and it was no problem.
so lets say the bio letter got lost in the mail and i never received it.. if i called USCIS customer service and gave them the WAC number on the NOA.. do u think they'll be able to see if the bio letter was ever mailed out?
I had read somewhere else where someone didnt receive their bio letter because it was sent to wrong address and i think they were sent a denial letter because they did not attend appt... or another incident where they DID attend the bio appt and was sent denial letter indicating that they NEVER went. *sigh*
I do understand that the ASC receipt number is the trackable number for case status.. but that WAC number should be for something right?
Im just trying to cover the 'what ifs".
-
I received both my NOA and biometrics notice on the same day.
My daughter received them one week apart.
I just got my 1 year ext letter on 5/30 and was just curious. Looking at the timelines i've noticed the biometrics appt is about 1 month apart from the NOA date.
Thanks for replying

Hi there,
So just curious usually as to how soon the fingerprinting letter shows up once you've received your 1 year green card extension letter.
Just curious.

I'll be married for 3 years August 19, 2008. I first got my conditional green card on August 15th 2006. Im in the process of lifiting conditions. I would have been in the US for a total of 2 years on August 15th, 2008...cos it counts from the date of conditional residence right?
Question is: When can I submit my application for citizenship? is it 90 days BEFORE August 15, 2009? or ON/AFTER August 15, 2009??
Thanks

I got my 1 year extension letter yesterday. Awesome cos it was my bday too. So is the 1 year extension from the date my green card is currently set to expire, which is 8/15/08? Or from the notice date on the letter? which is 5/21. I'm thinking its the date on the green card right? just wanted to make sure.

Hi Pat,
Once you have mailed it off without a tracking number there won't be any way to verify its arrival until you receive either the NOA or you can check with your bank to see if the cheque is cashed. Once the cheque is cashed you will see the date it was cashed/received on the back. We sent ours off certified and I had a return receipt so I know when it arrived and the cheque was cashed 7 days after the package arrived. The package took 4 days in the mail. Hope that helps to give you a time frame for when you might receive information about yours. I wouldn't worry too much - I am confident your package will arrive at the Service Center without a problem. Good luck!
This is off the subject but its so nice to see another fellow Cdn in the US spell cheques the french way still. I'm still weirded out with spelling it 'check'.. and others for that matter. lol
-
Ok, so my check was cashed 5/24. Exciting? Yes! And looking at the scanned check that they cashed, they wrote a WAC number on the top. Im thinking..OK.. maybe its too early to track.. but I went to the USCIS website to check case status just for the heck of it.. entered in the WAC number and they were not able to locate that receipt number. bummeR! i guess its too premature.. but then how do they generate that WAC number?
Has this happened to anyone else? Or should I just wait for the letter to arrive?
Im just giddy, anxious, nervous and excited all in one. I'm sure you've all gone through all that at the same time. lol
Ok, any input would be great.
Have a great day everyone!

In the form I 751 part 3, # 8 it said if you are married, is this different marriage than the the one through one which conditional residence status obtained. what is this i don't understand we have to tick yes or no.
It's basically asking you if you're still married to the same person through which AND when you got your conditional green card. Did you remarry since you got your card? If you're still with the SAME marriage then you check No.

The best way to fancify it is to attach several hundred dollar bills to it! Some of us didn't send any affidavits as we had enough evidence of joint lives. Don't worry if one is fancified or not - they don't even need to be notarized. Good Luck
Thats a good one! But I think we've forked out too much already. lol. Ah.. the wait begins!
-
I have some places that have notarized our letters really fancy, indicating things like "I, blah blah blah have witnessed blah blah on this date blah blah" and then the stamp and seal. Some others I've just gotten a Stamp and Seal and a Signature and Date it was notarized and thats it. Is that acceptable or does it have to be fancified?
-
In a multiple part document... this method assures that page 1 and page 2 belong together... otherwise you could attach any page 1 if the notary stamp was only on the acknowledgement page...
So Im assuming this is ok and that it will be accepted, whether its the state of Nebraska or state of California, wherever they decide to start my casework.?
Sorry to sound so naive.. I'm just so paranoid right now!!! Monday is file day

Hi There,
I don't know if anyone else has submitted their affidavits this way but my my mother inlaw and brother inlaw wrote letters for us and when they got their lettters notarized it shows 1/2 of the notary stamp on the 1st page, which is the body of letter, and the other half of stamp on a 2nd page, which is an Instrument of Acknowledgement sheet from the notary. Is that normal? has anyone sent in their letters with that format from the notary? It's like they just put both pages side by side and stamped their notary deal in the middle of both, to show that the 2 pages go together.
I just find it strange and not sure if it will be excepted or not.
mother inlaws letter was notarized in thet state of WA. brother inlaws was in the state of OR.
can anyone help me with this and let me know if its ok to send it in like that?
Thank You

Just curious... do you think they prefer family members or friends to write the affidavit letters to prove our marriage? I was thinking of using my mother inlaw and husbands step mom since they know us the best since even before we got married. We just have 1 friend in common, but we hardly see each other because of distance and we dont get out too much. any advice would be much appreciated.

When you submitted your AOS package, did you just send a copy of the vaccination report that was given to your wife by the Panel Physician from her country?? Or did you actually go to a Civil Surgeon in the US for a vaccination supplement.. cos you cant use the one you were given by Panel Physician. You need to get another one from a Civil Surgeon in the US. Doesn't matter what category you came into the US on, everyone has to comply with vaccination supplement. If they are asking you to do an entirely new full medical again, there must be a reason. Maybe the medical report has expired?????? You can always print out that page on USCIS http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/i-693faq.htm as information provided by the USCIS themselves and use that as affirmation if you are planning to write a letter of explanation regarding this RFE. Immigration does flub up from time to time. Maybe a letter would be a good way to go.

Just wanted to know if this is normal. I got my AOS approved on Aug 15th. The officer said that I should get card in 14 business days. Didnt say anything about any delays with FBI check etc..
I checked my profile on USCIS account and it has not been updated. No welcome letter etc.. Is this normal?
Mind you my EAD was approved and they didnt even update that at all. Just got my card in the mail by surprise.
I had my interview at Seattle office. Just curious ya know. You've come this far and you just hope that there arent any more problems you have to go through. It's like jumping through hoops for these ppl.
For those awaiting their AOS, good luck to all. Make sure you eat something before you go to interview. I was so hungry and nervous I was going to hurl.
Social Security Card
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
When I first received my SSN on a conditional green card they sent me a card that read "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION".. Now that I have my conditions lifted, do I need to go back to the Social Security office to have this card changed? I'm sure I'm not the only one that has received an SSN card like such.
Any input is much appreciated.
