  1. i read up about the medical exam before interview and one of the things it said was that they examine "external genetalia" ?? what if you are not comfortable with that? can you choose to get a female doctor to do the exam? i am a religious person and we are very strict about these kinds of things. i do not want a male doctor looking me down there. do they really do that? and what is the purpose for that?

we only have 1 approved doctor's office in my city, what if it's a male doctor and i refuse to take off my clothes?

hi im albanian as well, i got my case complete from nvc on march 6 and i still dont have an interview? what about you? when was your case complete and when did they schedule your interview, also whats your interview date? please help

  2. 1) I can't really answer for sure, but if they have a lot of Albanian cases waiting for interview, that kind of implies that the Albanian consulate is backed up. Every month, the consulates give them available slots and NVC book people in. If there are hardly any slots available, then cases will back up.

    2) NVC won't send your case to the consulate until your interview has been booked. They usually send it a few days after the booking has been made. Otherwise the consulate would receive your file and be like "who the heck is this? They're not on the system.".

    thank you

  3. so our case complete was march 6, we still do not have an interview, bc they said albania is backed up.

    2 questions?

    1) How much do the people answering the phones at NVC really know? Do they have all the information, but they are not able to say? I mean i want to know how much i can trust them? They keep telling me that the intervew date is not ready yet.

    2) Why does my case still stay at nvc?

  4. The schedule until either slots are all filled up or they run out of petitions to put in the slot. There is a specific window of scheduling NVC goes by

The normal waiting time for Albania from CC to getting interview is 2 to 3 months. Here is a look just for your country.

can you explain those dates to me? is 12/10/15 cc and 3/3/15 interview?

  5. my cc was march 6, and i still have not heard anything for an interview...what the heck, how can this be normal..feeling so frustrated..it feels as if were never going to get over with this..my consulate is in Albania btw, i would never think they are so busy..

also..do the people that answer the phone at NVC really know everything???

  6. Never mind. You said your case is scheduled to Albania like you want it to be in the first post which means you have an Albanian NVC/DOS case number. The interview will be there. If your husband was only in Greece temporarily, you shouldn't have written down a Greece address anywhere but what's done is done. He can explain to the CO he was there temporarily and his permanent residency was in fact Albania and just misunderstood the question.

If the NVC case number begins with TIA then it will go to Albania. Did NVC request you send in documents relating to what the US Embassy in Albania wants? http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/pk%203%20supplements/TIA%20-%20Tirana.pdf

Since your husband resided in Greece he should apply (if he hasn't already) for a Greek Police Certificate at the Greece Embassy in Tirana. Let them know that is is for a US Visa and they will send it directly to the US Embassy.

He only needs to apply for a greek police certificate if he has lived there for12 months or more since age 16.

My husband did live in Greece for more than couple of years so he did get the clearance from Greece like he was supposed to...our NVC number starts with TIA...I guess I am worried because we have not heard anything for almost 3 weeks, I thought this was the part when everything starts moving..(the happy part)

also my husband already got the police clearance with him from Greece when we send it to NVC along with all our papers back in january

  7. ok everyone..

so march 6 we got a case complete which was on a friday...on saturday we got a letter from nvc saying that if we wanted to switch the embassy from Albania to any other country we would have to provide sufficient proof. And that at this point they could not switch embassys. Our embassy is scheduled in Albania where we want it to be. I was confused as to why we got this letter and noticed that we put our current address in greece where my husband was staying temporary because he was visiting his parents. He lives in Albania. I called NVC many times and spoke to different people and they said we should not worry about it because our interview is scheduled in Albania. All three people said that it is up to us if we want to send an updated form to nvc updating our adress. Now i dont know what we should do? we are currently waiting for an intervew.

I dont know iif they are waiting for any thing from us, the nvc people said no but i just want to make sure..

    your thoughts?

  8. Thats crazy, ive been waiting very impatiently these passed few days thinking that the interviews were to be scheduled like 2-3 days after your case completes but i guess im wrong.

I think they schedule after one moth...it depends on how busy the embassy is.....how long have you been waiting and what embasse?
