You should have received a separate I-797 on thicker, water-marked paper, as a receipt notice for your application. That piece of paper is the one that serves as your proof that your conditional resident status has been extended for one year.

Go onto the USCIS website and enter the receipt number from the bottom right of your biometrics notice (the one starting with CRI89). Once you do that it will tell you when they received your package and should say that they mailed you a receipt notice (the extension letter you should have received). It'll also tell you that if you have not received your extension letter by "x" date then to call the number provided. They may tell you to make an InfoPass appointment to get an I-551 stamp in your passport since you haven't received the extension letter.

Even if you don't get the extension letter or the I-551 stamp in your passport before your green card expires in a couple of days, your status itself does not expire. You technically don't need the extension letter or I-551 stamp unless you plan to travel out of the country. But I'd recommend asking them if you can go and get the stamp since you didn't receive the letter, since it's good to have proof of your continued legal status anyway.

Thank you so much!!!!! I will call tomorrow and ask them about it.

It did say that if I haven't received my notice of action by 6/29, call them. But I thought my notice of action for my finger printing was the one they talking about, so i didn't really pay attention.

    Anyway, thank you so much!!!!!!

  2. I got my green card with a condition. Just right after 90 days from Green Card expiration, I filed the i-751. Within a week or so, I received I 797 Notice of Action ask me to get finger printing and all. But there's nothing about extending my conditional resident status for a period of one year.

My green card will be expired in couple days and I haven't got anything else other than this I 797 notice of action...

Is this normal? What should I do?

  3. We sent the whole package out on Feb 25. The USPS online tracking still shows that the package is on its way....(it should be there in two days). I called USPS and they said there's a chance they already delivery it, just didn't update the information.

I am wondering how long did everyone get a "package received" notice from USCIS after they sent the package. Should I call USCIS and ask?

    Thank you.

  4. Hello everyone, me and my fiance just got engaged. I am on my OPT and he is US citizen. We are planning to get our marriage license soon. Since my OPT will be expired in July, 2015, we decided to started this process ASAP after we get married.

    I have couple questions:

    1. forms we need:

    For me: I-485, G-325A, I-765, I-131, I-864

    For him: I-130

    is this correct?

    2. Can we mail all these forms to USCIS in the same time? Where do we mail them?

We were readying "how do i help my relative become a USPR on USCIS website and it says I-130 and I-485 should be mailed to different places?

    3. I remember seeing people talked about the cover page for the package or something like that. Where can I find sample for that or if there's a checklist I can download somewhere.

    Thank you so much!!!!!!!
