  1. If you would like a new SS card, you will have to fill out a Form SS-5-FS, follow the instructions, and take it in to your local SSA office for processing. This SSA link speaks about the three types of SS cards:

    http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/cards.htm

    http://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5fs.pdf

I read of people who after becoming a citizen, they went to update their social security status, and received a new card

  2. There is an area in the application (first page, bottom area), where the photo is supposed to go, do I have fill out this area?

the area is all white, and it says STOP continue to page 2

This area has boxes for driver license and ID information, not sure if I have to put my driver license there

Do I have to staple my photo to this box before going to the post office? I know I have to sign it in front of the person

If you went to the post office, how did you pay the fees?

  3. No panic in the week of 04/28/15 call USCIS asked to speak to level 2 please have a trusted fax number handy . Ask them to fax you a copy on the notice . tuesday i will call

i dont have a trusted fax machine, and do not know anyone who has one

i dont see why they can't mail me a copy of the notice, right after i call

i even filled up an infopass with lost notice, but who knows when they read that, and send me a copy, so im just gonna call, or go straight to office and demand a copy lol

  4. Let's say you are a little tight, and want to wait a few weeks before getting your passports, is it possible?

How long can you wait before getting your passport? or if you don't get it right after becoming a citizen, do you lose that option?

I'm assuming you can get the passport whenever you want, and wait as long as you want, right, after all, many americans never had a passport, and I'm sure if they wanted to get one after decades, they could, because they were born here

  5. Awesome. That took a darn long time, but you got caught right up with the biometric as well.

Back when I spent TWO YEARS getting my green card (that's how long it used to take) I used to check the mail so nervously I installed a monitor to know when my box was open so I could get the mail right away!

Now, I wonder how long will I have to wait for the interview letter, after I'm done with biometric

I read it can take 1 month or more

  6. i see

so, let's create an scenario. my green card expires in june 2015, and I send my application in april 2015 with my $680

    WHAT DO THEY DO?

do they refuse my application, or accept it and cash the check, while letting me know, that I have to renew my green card to become a citizen, in other words, i will end up paying 680 + 450

    lol

regardless if they continue with application process and cash the check, or if they refuse your application all together, you will still pay the same 680 + 450

  7. You shouldn't count on your naturalization being approved before it is, and you won't be a citizen until you're sworn in. The correct thing to do is renew your greencard before it expires so that you're current for your interview and naturalization ceremony.

    Good luck!

duhh it expires in september, is january

also, i would really hate having to pay $450 more to renew my green card, if my citizenship doesn't come in time
