Hi all,
My husband (US citizen) is applying for a visa (I-130) for me to join him in the states. We both live in the UK but he has to go back to the states in March. We will have been married for 2 years on 2nd May 2017. Am I correct in thinking that if we have been married for 2 years at the point the visa is approved I will be granted a 10 year visa as opposed to the 2 year condition, because we will have been married for 2 years?
Thank you

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone has a direct number to call the US embassy in London. All I am getting is an automated answer machine. I need to contact them because my husband sent the I-130 petition to the US embassy in London early November. We are living in the UK so was advised to send the petition there. I have confirmation from the Royal Mail that it was received into the post room on 14th November. We sent a money order from moneygram. They have confirmed that the moneyorder was cashed on 18th November. We have not received an acknowledgement or receipt number. I contacted a helpline for military applicants who confirmed that there is no record of our application. When we pointed out that the payment has been taken they said that there is nothing more they can do to help. So we are in a limbo. We can't go down to the embassy because we live a few hours away and can't get time off work. Can anyone advise what we could do or have a number that we can call please?
Thank you
2 year condition or 10 year?

Thank you for your response. My husband needs to be back in the states before May, if I stay behind in the UK do you know if I am able to finalise the visa without him here? And should I arrange my interview for a date after our 2 year anniversary?
