Hi, do you mind sharing how the interview in Portland Oregon went? I'll love to hear cos my friend has just been scheduled to go for her interview in Portland, OR from Seattle.

    Thanks

    Sure!

my interview was at 9:22 am. I think i waited 5 minutes until i got called in.

the officer was nice but didn’t wanna do much Small talk haha

he swore me in and took my green card. He asked me to read a sentence and then write “I payed taxes” .

next part was the civics test which was super easy.

Then he went over my application and asked for my husbands date of birth and name.

He then asked me to answer all the yes or no question again, which took maybe 3-5 minutes. I actually forgot to answer one in my application Online and he was super nice about it and said he thought that’s what happened and corrected it for me.

He said I was approved and if I wanted to attend the ceremony that same day. I said yes and he gave me a pink paper to bring back with me 3 hours later.

I think it took around 15 minutes.

:)) I was super nervous but it wasn’t bad at all. He didn’t want to see any of my documents I brought and nothing else other than my greencard.

Congrats!  You applied in March 2019, right?

Is Seattle your local field office but you were called in for interview at the Portland Office?  If so, very surprising because we have people waiting for interview since April 2018.

    OR

Is Portland your local field office?

    Yes March 2019! :)

Oh sorry, Portland is my local field office. I just wanted to let the other person asking about same day oath Ceremony know what happened to me in Portland. But yeah I was a Portland filer not Seattle :(

Hey! That's great! Congratulations! I'm having my interview in Portland on July 10th, and I hope I can get to the oath ceremony the same day too. That would be just perfect! Did they give you the certificate of naturalization right away?

Yay! Well July 10th is a Wednesday so you’re probably able to attend the ceremony also since my interview was also on a Wednesday ! My interview was at 9:20 and the ceremony at 1:30!

yes we got our certificate after the ceremony! I guess they print the certificates the same day if you decide to attend the ceremony!

  4. Hey everyone! I thought I’d share my experience.

Filed my paperwork June 5th 2017 and didn’t hear from them until 10 days ago when I got the 18 month extension letter. (I never went and got the stamp...)

so 2 days ago I get a text message saying my i751 was approved and then today it said my card was mailed to me!

So hopefully everyone will get their cards soon! I was also a California service center filer!!

  5. Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well!

I need some information just to clarify and get a peace of mind.

I came on a ESTA (VWP) to visit my girlfriend, now wife. This was a spontaneous action (we love eachother so much and did not want to leave eachothers side) and we got married within 90 days (while i was still legally present). Just before my ESTA expired on September 24th.

Basically i'm overstaying for almost 3 months now although we got married. But, we're ready to file the I-130 and I-485 with all the other supported forms before Dec 23rd (crucial date before the fees go up lol)

Therefore i have some questions, i already appreciate all the info you guys can give. I'll summarize them to make it easier to answer.

    - Will my overstay be forgiven in my situation?

I came here July 2014 (VWP) got married in October and didn't send my package until January 2015. I had no problems. Got my GC in June 2015. The lady just asked me if I had planned the wedding. I said no, and she approved us on the spot after 15 mins. I had no problems. You'll be fine too if all your other documents are good.

  6. Well, I would think that if you fly to Russia and try to enter again, your AP isn't expired, it would be a legal entry. And they should let you go through...
But I don't know if the AP is still valid if the AOS is canceled...I mean you said that you sent that missing document in and they probably reopen the case. I think it shouldn't be a problem...I don't see why they would be mad at you. Maybe you can call USCIS and ask if your document was received and if the case is opened again so you know that your AOS is pending again. Then i wouldn't be worried about traveling...But that's just my opinion.

  7. Hi, I was approved on the spot on Tuesday 6/23 as well, but my online status still hasn't changed. It is still showing interview is scheduled. So I am wondering if urs remains the same as well? Or it already changed to mailed u a welcome notice?

    Hey :D

Same here, I was approved as well (06/25) and my status still hasn't changed either. It made me a bit nervous but i thought maybe they just don't update it for some people...They just approve us and then forget to change the status? She said the card would be in the mail within 1-2 weeks.

  8. I sent in the paperwork that we had to fill out for our joint bank account. that worked as well.
I just had my interview on Thursday. also adjusting from vwp...
It was just 10 minutes and she didn't even wanna see too much. I gave her a print out of our at&t bill that had our two phone numbers on it, the paperwork of our joint bank account and a copy that says i am on his car insurance. She did ask if my name was on our lease for the apartment, I didn't have that either so she just said ok.
I had a buch of pictures with me and she didn't even wanna see those. I was super stressed out but the lady was very nice. Just be polite and im sure it will be okay. Tell them that you couldn't get much more because you don't have a ssn yet. Im sure they will understand.

  9. Hey just wanted to let everyone know how my interview went on the 25th.

We had to wait 30 min until a very nice lady called my name.
She just explained the common things, and swore us in.
then she started to ask my husband about the petition he filed for me, he had to spell his name and she wanted to see if all the dates were correct. My husband was married before so she asked a bunch of questions about the marriage and when the divorce was. He couldn't remember anything but she was still very nice.

She then asked me for my husbands phone number, name, birthday...basic things and wanted to know how we met. She even said she didn't need too many details...
She asked if we had any proof that we didn't already submit and i only had one paper of our car insurance. She was happy with that.
I came on a tourist visa, so she asked if we planned the wedding before i came and i said no. Thats all. She said my case will be approved today and that was it. Not longer than 10 min....I was pretty nervous but she was super cool. Her and my husband talked about work on the way out to the waiting room.

So don't be nervous, if you are really a legit couple theres nothing to worry about.
I brought my medical exam but she didn't want to see it.

My status didn't change online, though....Maybe they don't update the status correctly anymore? Did that happen to anyone else?

  10. Thank you guys. i will go back on Monday and hopefully ill be in the System. Then it will be two weeks since my ead got approved.

I was told the same thing when I went. I got my EAD and went straight to the SS office. I got my card a week later.

They also told you, you weren't in the system yet?

  11. I am so sorry if this was asked before, I couldn't find anything...
I got my EAD and it was approved march 1oth. So today i went to the Social Security Office, 9 days later. I didn't know you had to wait around 10 days to be in their system.
The lady was really nice but told me she couldn't find me in the system and told me she has to send my documents in to verify and it may take up to 4 weeks.

I called their hotline and asked someone if i could just go back to the office on monday, he said why not. He had no idea, though.

So my question, can i just go back monday and see if i am in the system then, and hopefully get my ss card mailed to me faster? I really can't wait 4 weeks...I need it now....

Maybe someone has done that already and can answer my question. I was just worried that i might slow the process down or complicate everything if i go back now.
