  1. so I filed my n400 on December 4th, I got my biometrics done on the 28th of December and I was placed in line on the 30th of December but my online status has not

changed since then, im beginning to get worried  , how long am I suppose to wait.

Are you in the right thread? This one is for December 2014 filers! if that's really the case you should have contacted them months ago

  2. Congratulations Chessy !

    Quick quession..

    How long ceronomy took ?

    More than an hour ??

It was actually less than an hour! My 'report time' was 10:30, I got there at 10, then they looked through everyone's oath letters while all the guest were taken to the ceremony room. Oath takers were sent in around 11 and we were done before noon. Not very spectacular but still nice :-)

DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE YOUR GREENCARD

  3. Hello everyone!

I know I've been a bit more quiet recently but school has been killer!! ;-)

Well, today was finally my oath ceremony and I can now call myself a U.S. citizen!!!

However, I'm not quite done with uscis since I will be now petitioning for my parents, so I hope I can get through that as quickly as possible.

I'd like to congratulate all who have moved forward in the process and everyone else who is still waiting, be patient, time passes quicker than you think ;-)

If anyone has questions, don't hesitate to ask; I'll still be around :-)

But for now, please update my timeline one last time!

  4. Hello everyone!

I just got back from my interview and everything went very smoothly. I was there for about an hour in total but the interview itself was quite short (a LOT of waiting). Of course i don't remember all of the test questions but they definitely asked the following:

Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

Name 3 of the original colonies?

Who is the commander in chief? (I'm actually not sure which question it was but the answer was definitely 'the President'; you know there are several questions with that answer)

My writing test was: The people elect Congress.

My first surprise was that there was no reading portion of the test. I'm not sure if he forgot or something else but I did not mention it to him  Afterwards we went through my application but that was also super quick. At the end of the interview i got my second surprise when he told me that I would get my oath letter after a few minutes.

So, long story short, my ceremony will be on 04/17. I'm so happy about that because my parents are visiting at the moment and they will be here for the ceremony :-)

Please update my oath date :-)

  5. Does anyone have an idea;

I did not receive my interview notice yet.

I got an email on Feb 27 it was saying that : "We scheduled your interview we will mail you an interview notice.."

Since that time i did not receive my actual letter.

Is that normal ? Because when i check according people who got "Scheduled" email, it seems people getting have it in 5 bussines days.

Thank you in advance for any advice

That is still normal time. If you don't receive the letter within 30 days then you can call uscis. (That's what the automated voice will tell you if you call them to check your status)

  6. I'm trying to log in to USCIS website to check on my case but it's saying my username is invalid. I know my username is correct. So, wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem? Or if just me, please share your experience. Thanks!!!

I just tried to log on and had no problems! Make sure your password is correct (there has to be at least one uppercase letter and a number in your password)

  7. I think it also depends on the case. Say, straight-forward, no complications cases would get processed first as they are easily processed. This way, it will make room for complicated and new cases. I don't think they process cases on first come first serve basis. I believe they still look at cases on time received but I bet they would move on to the next case if the prior case is too complicated. That is why we see widely different timelines.

That's what I think too and it makes sense!

  8. congrats! New Yorkers like myself have a 90 day wait or more since the time you become in-line until the interview gets scheduled

It's really so hard to tell! I've looked at timelines on VJ for Oakland Park and saw hugely different times for different people in the same field office.

This also makes me question the official processing times on the USCIS website....according to that, they shouldn't even be looking at my application for another few months...

  9. you need to complain some more.

    I know, right? hahaha!!

Its complitely weird.. Mine also exactly same field office like yours Florida / Oakland Park and i sent my file 2 weeks after you. But i got the line 1/28 which is before you. So now if your interview get scheduled before mine it wont be surprised to me.

I noticed that already when you updated your status. I have no clue how these people work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  10. i did but there was really no update on october or november filers in my area. I guess ill keep going back and see.

Howver someone here posted last week that they got a text/email update within 10 days. That's why i was beginning to wonde.r

I was wondering that too but I'm still only waiting to be in-line. I saw some people who were in-line after two days and some others in a few weeks, and even up to 3 months. I'm sure this depends on your filing location

  11. does anyone have any idea how long it takes the interview to be scheduled/letter mailed. I got the update over a week ago saying it was being scheduled and the interview letter would go out. Just wondering if anyone has any info as far as how long it takes.

I think your best bet is to look in the older filer threads because it gives you an idea how long others had to wait.

  12. Still waiting for my yellow letter. Is there a way to inquire about the details of a case status? Or should I just give it a bit more time? It seems as if most peeps didn't have to wait long for their letters...

The yellow letter really just tells you again which documents you are supposed to bring to the interview. It's not that important since you should already know what to bring for your particular case.

You can check your case status on the USCIS website. Have you done that already?
