I went to the local uscis today to look over our adjustment forms. I am self employed and have my past three years of tax scripts.

I have enough income but he said something about needing a 1099 form since as he was looking at the transcripts there was nothing

marked down as wages. On my 1040 tax returns it shows my income and it shows the same on my transcripts. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

should I mark 1.a I am the petitioner. I filed for immigration of relative?

Since we are married now should I mark that?

Or 1.d I am the only joint sponsor.

Also wondering what you put for the current uscis status on the I-485 form? since we got married she would no longer be a K1 on the status is that correct?

I looked online on the gov website. It says to send out I-485 to Chicago I am guessing that is right. I do read on this site people saying to check with their local office for certain things but sending it to Chicago is correct?

I am sending in our I 485 for adjustment status for my wife and her son. How long do you think this should take? We are a little concerned we started this process when he was 19 after all the paper and embassy meeting etc he is now 20 and turns 21 in June. Thanks for any insights in the time frame.

My fiancee and I just got married and filling out more paper work. Do I have to fill out a i-485 for both? Also do I have to pay the fee for the I-485 for both or would both be included in one form?

Hi we are filing all of our paper work. Went to doctor in USA and sending in all this paper work in. Does anyone know how long the Status Adjustment period takes? My wife has a son is 20 years old. Online it says as long he is under 21 before the adjustment period is over we are ok.

My Fiance has almost everything done for her to get her K1 Visa but we have not had any info to fill out for her son. She has followed all the information and both she and her son have had their doctors examination. She has paid for both of them and has been filling out the DS-160 form. My question is does she have to fill out one for her son? They have not mentioned anything so far about anything that has to be done for him. We have included him in in our forms etc but have not received anything asking about him or what need to be done.

Also when I fill out a I-134 do one for both or one for each?

299 days and you have not received anything?? yea you need to contact someone for sure

I am not sure of the time. We sent our K1 Visia in January and in August is when I got the letter from the TSC that it was sent to NVC. The embassy sent the letter out about a week after I received the letter. Hope that helps.

crazy wait time..called NVC about 30 times finally got through..then waited an hour to get someone. gave them receipt number..name..date of birth of fiancee and my name etc..and they gave me the Invoice Visa ID number and beneficiary number no problems. Just in case anyone else ran into this.

Hi my fiancee recieved her letter from National Visia Center but I did not receive anything from them. She got hers about 2 weeks ago and has been filling out the information. There is spot that asks for your Visa ID number. I have not gotten a letter from the government but she has. Is that normal for her to get her letter before me from the NVC? Also I guess the only way to get it is to call?? thanks

Hi just following your topic. My girlfriend in Germany received a letter from the Embassy in Frankfurt with a list of forms she needs to get police info, birth certificate etc. Just wondering what the next step would be. She would get all these things lined up then she would set up an appointment next right? I read on here that there is another letter she will get? Also just wondering when she makes her appointment how much time will it take to get one? Is like a month or a few weeks or what? thanks!

I downloaded this sponsor form ffrom the Gov. Website. and it had 2009 that is really strange.I can see what you are saying about poverty level changing. I am super glad I checked back but I pretty sure the 2009 was on their site since I double checked and they changed in March.

I guess my question is when I filled my paper work the sponsorship was one amount and now it is another. Would the amount the gov. uses the amount that was listed when I filled. The amount I filed under or what it is now

Hey most of you applied the same time I did Dec or January. I was checking back on the Sponsorship ammount. Did anyone notice they changed the ammount in March? Went up about $3000. Wondering if we have to prove now the new amount or the original. Luckily I save the old amount file. But it was from 2009. Any htoughts?

I had it delievered to a house I just moved into and I dont get alot of mail delivered there but I do get a few each month. Anyway I contacted them and had them delivered to my parents house.

I sent in my paper work in January and received an email and text but not a letter. I kept checking online and nothing changed till this week saying that it was returned unable to deliver. I really hope this does not bump me back 2 months! I hope maybe they started the work and put it to the side when they got it returned and will pick right back up on it. But I am guessing it will, anyone else have this happen. I called them and had them resend to a different address.in case it was a post office screw up!

My girlfriend is worried about coming to visit while the visa is in process. She thinks they may not let her in. I sent her paper work in as most of you did in Dec. I told her it would not be a problem as it is still sitting in Texas but I just wanted to make sure.

My girlfriend is from Germany all you need is your passport and say you are coming here to visit a friend. She has visited me atleast 6 times and she never need anything you say you are bringing to prove something. Although it can not hurt.

NOA-1 Is that form saying they received my K1 visa info? I received an Email and Text message with my receipt number. I did not receive anything in the mail a hardcopy yet but I did get my receipt number through email and text.

From what I read you basically send your papers in and then wait like 6 months to hear anything next right? I called in and asked what to do since I did not get anything by mail. They said they were sending me the same info I got through email or text.
