    I've had an error on my GC as well I think I posted that on one of my topics here. What I did was I made an Acct. USCIS ELIS I filed it in there I-90 Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card. Since its their fault there is no fee for that. Here's my timeline that you can use as reference;

    • I filed mine 11/06/16 with all the proofs of error.
    • I got receipt notice by 12/22/16
    • 01/02/17 they informed me that they will just reuse my Biometric info on their system

Next thing I did was print the proof that the Status is still on process of replacement. Keeping it with me as I only travel within US Lol (you'll never know) I did this because I still want to have my actual GC with me just in case I fly back home or wherever outside US, instead of sending it back to them through mail without me having the actual card though I have my combo EAD card I'd rather have them both. Anyways I am still waiting for my new GC to arrive YES UP UNTIL NOW. (6 months today) :D

    Goodluck!!

Thanks for the info!  What did you send for proofs of error?

I'm thinking to send his birth certificate and copy of the biographical page of his passport as proof that he was born in the Philippines.  I don't know what else to send.  I'm hoping that will be enough.

  2. My husband's green card says that he is from the US. This is obviously incorrect. The USCIS admits that it's their fault and told me that I MAY want to file form I-90 without the fee to get a corrected green card.

Does anyone have experience as to how long this takes?  I've also heard that I might want to make an info pass appointment to get an I 551. Do I need to make it before I file the I 90 or after?  Do I even need to correct the green card or will it matter? We are planning to travel back to the Philippines in a few months and don't want to have any problems. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  3. My fiancé was told that he passed his interview and that he got the visa after only 3 questions. His interview was on December 22nd but now when I check his case number on the ceac website it says:

"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved after administrative processing, your passport will be delivered by our contracted courier to the address you specified when you booked your interview."

He didn't receive a 222g or any request for more information. They didn't even ask for the 131 or any of my financial information. I'm confused now and getting worried. What's taking so long? I heard of a lot of people that got their visa within a week after the interview.

Has anyone had the same experience recently at the Manila embassy?

  4. I have a few questions about the medical at St. Luke's.

1.) My fiancé already filled out his paperwork on their website, but now we just noticed that there are multiple locations. Does it matter which one he goes to??

2.) Secondly, I read something about making sure to get some paperwork from the medical so you don't have to redo stuff when it comes time to adjust his status. I can't seem to find that post now. Does anyone know if that's still true and/or what paperwork to make sure he gets??

    Thanks for your help.

  5. I just scheduled my interview on the 23rd of November, I got the confirmation and everything was okay except for one thing, I didn't apply for a new DS-160 form yet, but on my confirmation page on my application it is using my old DS-160 confirmation number which was used to apply for a tourist visa last year. I need help, I am applying for a K1 fiance visa and I don't know what to do. Should I just make a new one?

  6. does not need cenomar, all that is required is divorce decree. thats all that i needed. i was married here in pinas and divorced in the states. same case. make sure though original decree is with you at interview. for our interview was not asked for original though.

Thank you for sharing your experience, but how about when you go to CFO seminar? did they ask you for that annotated cenomar?

  7. I have a concern about the requirements on the K-1 visa interview, I am from the Philippines and got divorced in the US with my ex-wife (we got married here in the philippines and I haven't been to America). Now I am processing my divorce decree here in the Philippines but it's taking a long time to be finished, My Fiance already applied for my petition and we are about to set an interview at the manila embassy. Now is my Divorce decree enough for the requirements? or do I still need to get a CENOMAR? I am just afraid that my documents for the approval of my divorce won't be finished in time. The Manila embassy website only stated that a divorce decree are one of the requirements. Please help if you have the same situation as me. Thank you

  8. My fiancée and I are waiting to get our case number from the NVC. I noticed some people are saying I will receive a packet in the mail or an email with requirements/paperwork to do before my interview is scheduled but some forms say I will not receive anything. We are confused as to what the process will be from receiving the NVC case number to going in for an interview. Could someone tell me how this will work? I'm from the Philippines.

  9. My fiancé is Filipino and I lived there for several years. I am trying to fill out the section on the G325A about residence last 5 years, but my address in the Philippines didn't have a street number - only a street, barangay and municipality. In the box that says, "Street name and number" I've only filled out the street and barangay....

Will that be a problem? Has anyone else experienced this?

  10. Thank you so much, Craig. That is very helpful.

I do have one more question, do you know anything about documents regarding "the authority of the district judge/judge who issued the divorce degree." The attorney in the Phililippines is asking for that.

    Thank you for your help!

  11. My boyfriend is a Philippines citizen and we are hoping to get married in the US and live in the Philippines. He was previously married to a US citizen and she divorced him in the US. As I understand it, we need to have the divorce degree recognized by the Philippines embassy here in the US before we can begin the process of having the marriage dissolved in the Philippines.

My question is, how do you get the judicial recognition of the divorce degree? Can I do it or does his ex-wife have to be the one? How long does it generally take?

    Thanks.
