  1. Hi Everyone

My spouse case number is listed as can be processed through electronic. The NVC asked me to submit (I-864 and police certificate) through email at nvcelectronic@state.gov . Do I scan each page of I-864 or just the signature page and include the other PDF file with it?

Also, How long does NVC takes to review the documents and reply? I have seen 30 days in several blogs. Is that how long it takes them to send the file to embassy?

I have already paid AOS FEE, IV FEE and completed the Form DS- 260.

    Thank you all in advance.

30 days seem to be right

  2. My spouse I-130 approved as (spouse of Permanent residence) in February. It was than sent to National Visa Center. I became Naturalized U.S citizen as of mid- March(2015) and had sent NVC enquiry email to change the petition as a spouse of U.S CITIZEN and make it CURRENT. I got email response on beginning May stating

    Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: XXXXXXXXXX filed by M. H. on behalf of A.M. .

The correspondence submitted is currently under review. An appropriate action will be taken once this review is completed.

    Case Number: XXXXXXXXXXX

    Petitioner's Name: M H

    Principal Applicant's Name: A M

    Preference Category: F2A

    Your Priority Date:

    Foreign State Chargeability: INDIA

    Invoice ID Number:

    U.S. EMBASSY

I have not heard anything since than. Its been 55 days of the email. I have contacted congressman regarding the matter. They keep getting response saying the case is under review.

Can anyone tell me What is going on? and how long does it actually takes? I am tired of NVC. I hope nobody has to go through THIS LONG WAIT.

Thanks in advance for your responses..

  3. Did my interview and got approved. Was timed for 11:00 AM but got there about 12:30 due to traffic. The officer was kind of rude. He went through my application thoroughly and have made me sign.

    The 6 questions were.

    1. Who wrote declaration of Independence?

    2. How old do you have to be able to vote?

    3. Name of Chief Justice?

    4. Name of Senator of Louisiana?

    5. Name state that borders Mexico?

    6. Name Longest river in US?

    all were correct.

He had me write "Washington D.C. is the capital of United States.

He gave me a White paper and said I will get Oath letter in mail soon. I was out in 10 minutes.

  4. I went through the visa journey threads and did not see a case like this. Like NLR said calling National Visa Center and finding out if the case has been received may be a good idea. I think Ciroc80 and his beneficiary will start getting mails from NVC after the case becomes current. NVC need to receive the Copy of naturalization first.

Thanks NLR and Ashleyslots. I am thinking about hiring an immigration attorney so he can help me through these steps. I hope to have my wife soon.

  5. Hi all! I am a permanent residence going through Naturalization. My Spouse I-130 is approved last week.

Do my spouse petition start to be processed by National Visa Center after we send them my Naturalization Certificate? I received the USCIS mail of i-130 approval yesterday.

How long does it take for NVC to schedule interview for my spouse in India?
Is there any way we can expediate the process?
    Thanks in advance.
  6. I have seen different topics about I-130.

    Back ground Informations:

I have been a permanent citizen for almost 5 years now. I have my citizenship processing with USCIS and have interview scheduled for beginning of March. I am expecting to have my oath and everything by beginning of April.

I applied for I-130 (spouse of permanent residence) for my spouse who is currently in India. The timeline for USCIS is about 5 months. I filed in mid october so expecting to get approval by mid March.

    Whats Next?

When do I file with NVC for my spouse after my naturalization oath or right after USCIS I-130 approval?

Spouse does not have SSN and do I file taxes for 2014 single or married but filed separately?

What is the income needed for sponsoring? The currently poverty line seems like 20, 000.

How long the NVC processing takes? I have read about others mentioned timelines about 30-60 days. Is 30-60 days the time to appear in interview in India or just the NVC processing here?

Is there any thing I can start doing now like making documents ready that will help her to come here sooner.

    Thanks for suggestions and replies

  7. I have seen two types of updates. On Friday 9th January it says .

On January 9, 2015, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxxxxx. We will send you an interview notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by April 9, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Today, I checked the USCIS website and it removed the April, 9 time line and the notice says.

Don't know why there is a sudden change in the status updates.

  8. I assume you're asking about the 90 day early filing period. In most cases, actually in almost all cases, your interview will be scheduled only after your eligible to become a citizen (meaning after your three-year or five-year green card anniversary). However, in rare cases you can be interviewed before this anniversary, but they cannot approve your application before the 90 days are up. In such cases they will put on hold until after your anniversary and then approve it. Also, some offices will refuse to interview you if you are accidentally scheduled for your interview before your anniversary; for example there are several cases where Houston scheduled an interview a couple of days before the anniversary and when the person showed up for their interview, it was rescheduled and they were asked to come back a week or two later.

Thanks, My 90 days period ends on February 5, So I am assuming that I can go to Canada for 15 days in January. I am in dilemma whether to take this trip or not.
