  1. I went to the Kuwait consulate in Mumbai, which is next to K. C. College. You have to write a letter explaining why you want a PCC, evidence that you lived in Kuwait such as your Kuwait ID card or passport with Kuwait visa. You also have to get a set of fingerprints. All of this has to be notarized by a Mumbai lawyer and you also have to get a Manyrala stamp. Plus there is a fee. I can't remember how much.  It has to drawn to a bank in Mumbai. Once you have everything you turn it, you get a receipt and wait for 2 months before the PCC comes in.

    Hi all,

I've done quite a bit of searching and found some others who had similar questions, but never an actual answer.

My wife received her CR-1 Visa on December 21, 2015.

She paid the $165 fee on December 22, 2015.

She entered the USA on a CR-1 on December 23, 2015.

She received her updated Social Security Card in the mail the first week of Jan (she already had a SSN from when she worked as a student in the USA).

We have not received anything from USCIS in the mail - no welcome letter or Green Card.

I've seen a number of threads that say we can check the status online at the ELIS website. Can anyone clarify how to actually do this? When I go to the payment site (https://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis/log-online-filing), I click on " To receive status updates on the production of your permanent resident card, please visit Case Status Online." but then what should we enter at the case status online?

The Number I have that works, from our initial petition, just says the same thing it always has - the petition was approved on August 18. Should this end up updating once they've done something, or should I be using a different receipt number? The tracking numbers we have from the receipt for the payment don't work here.

To confirm payment, I tried paying again, and when I entered the Department of State numbers and A#, the website told me the Fee has already been paid.

Am I completely missing something? It's been 3 weeks, no letter from USCIS, and I can't figure out how to check status? I thought we were done with worrying about every little thing, but I guess not! (I'd like to add my wife to my bank account, but Chase won't let me without her physical green card. They won't accept the visa + stamp).

So after how long dd you get your green card? Did the user defined error message ever change to show if they mailed it out? Thanks.

  3. I'm currently in India, and on my instruction letter for the my interview I was asked to get a PCC from India. However when I was a teenager I lived in Kuwait. My lawyer told me beforehand to get a PCC from Kuwait through the Kuwait consulate which I did (it took over 3 months to get that). My interview is in February and my Kuwait PCC expires in January. Even though they didn't ask for it my lawyer said to take it with me to my Interview and to show it to them if they ask for it. Even though it will be expired by the time of my interview he said I should be fine because I haven't been back to Kuwait since I left when I was 18. My husband thinks I should try to get a new one just to be on the safe side- even though I probably may not get it in time for my interview and it is expensive and I will have to travel to Mumbai to get it. Do you think I should risk staying with the copy I have. Is there anything on the state department website that alludes to something like this that if you haven't been back to the country since the PCC was issued do you have to get a new one?

  4. On 25 august 2016 my waiver is denied by USCIS as I check on their site , they sent me the notice of decision. Now I am 90 percent dead seeing this. I don't know the reason yet why they denied I all check. Now seriously what to do now ???? Guys

Was there more involved in your case than an overstay?

Did you show how a separation would impact your relationship and what hardship it has caused your spouse?

    Did you use a lawyer?

  5. Update!!!

Went to the interview today and they take my passport but they put my case on administrative processing. They told me to wait 2 weeks.

Did they actually interview you or just asked for your passport, medical and other requirements? If they interviewed you what sort of questions did they ask? Also did you have to do your fingerprints again- Just wondering because in Mumbai the fingerprinting and photographs is at a separate visa processing center and you have to make a separate appointment for that.

    BTW, congratulations and best wishes.

  6. My application has moved to the State Department and so right now preparing for the next step. One of the things thats needed are Police Clearance Certificates of all the places you have lived. As a kid I lived in Kuwait as my father worked there. I left when I was 18 in 1987. I'm now in India. The problem is how to get a PCC from Kuwait. It's next to impossible if you're an Indian citizen to visit Kuwait to get a PCC besides I can't afford it. And I don't know anybody in Kuwait. I've tried contacting the Consulate in Mumbai but so far no response to my email nor anybody seems to be answering the number listed on their website. I'm running out of options.

Question- What can I do to get a PCC from Kuwait?

Is it a must to have a PCC from Kuwait?

Will this be an impediment/block to getting a visa to join my spouse in the US?

Any information as to what can be done or words of wisdom as to how to overcome this hurdle will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    b.
