  1. It's a miracle, just got approved! But I have a question. The email says that they will send me something in the mail about the next steps. Will this mail be important or require me to send some reply to it? I just ask because I am going out of town for a few weeks and I won't receive it. If not, then what is the next thing I need to do now that I have the approval? Thanks!

Congrats!!!!Nope there is no reply and it really doesn't tell you anything you just need it for when you go to your interview and apply for certain things later on in the process. Now you wait for them to send your approval to NVC.

  2. We are also approved and Sean has received his letter from London, and as anxious as we both are, now we have to get creative about slowing down the process a bit. My fiancé fell ill in November. He's responding well to treatment, but he can't travel yet. He's not even up for the trip to London for the medical or the interview, never mind moving to the States. His doctor wants to keep an eye on him until late Summer, early Fall. So now that everything is out of Texas and moving along swimmingly, we're looking for ways to slow the process down and buy some time.

We've been advised by the immigration specialist at my congressman's office to write to the embassy and request an extension on the NOA2, so they know we're not abandoning the application. It's all very depressing to be honest with you all.

Posting mostly just to share with my July/TSC compatriots, but if anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears.

Best of luck to you all.

I pray he feels better soon!! tons of positive energy for you two...Best of Luck!!!

I just checked my visa status online, and it has changed to In Transit! :D However - it also says this: "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." Is this just standard phrasing, or..?

    Woohoo Congrats!!!! :D

Today is not a happy day... Yes, I have my NOA2 and it seems to be stuck at USCIS ... But if everything had gone as smooth as we were believed to when we sent in our papers, we would have gotten married today :(

I'm sorry to hear that...like you said if you've waited this long, you can guys will be a okay ;) and on the bright side you guys are still able to see each other

    Just venting a little... :ranting:

Today is day 87 after NOA2 approval (December 18, 2014) and we are hoping to hear from USCIS/NVC soon, saying they have sent/received our case. This is a long and stressful wait for us. :clock: We had planned to marry in February, but instead we were left in a state of libo because USCIS said they sent our case to NVC on January 7, but NVC says they never received it.

    We have contacted:

    • February 12, NVCResearch@state.gov (no response at all),
    • February 13, Senator Cornyn to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
    • February 13, Congresswoman Johnson to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
    • February 13, Senator Cruz to submit a Congressional Inquiry (waiting for response from USCIS/NVC),
    • March 5, USCIS Ombudsman (received email reply, wait up to 60 days for action/response),
    • March 6, SCOPSSCATA and TSC NCSCfollowup (received email reply, wait up to 60 days for action/response),
    • March 6, USCIS Tier 2 Service Request (received email reply, wait up to 90 days for action/response),

I have done everything I can at this point and now it's just a matter of waiting for someone to get our case found and moving again. The waiting is driving us crazy. Please say a prayer for us and send loving thoughts our way. Thanks so much. (L)(L)(L)

Done venting. I feel better. :dancing:

My prayers are with you guys...Best of luck!!!! Hopefully you guys will hear something back soon :D

  3. Hi! So I submitted a case inquiry, phoned USCIS and demanded to talk to a tier 2 agent, since there was no update/news on my case (filed on July 7th). Told the agent about my situation and he told me I just had to wait until the 28th in order to get an answer, that there wasn´t much he could do about it...I couldn´t believe what I was hearing!

I have even thought about getting an appointment at a local USCIS office, but the offices at NYC are closed due to maintenance...and I´m not even sure if that will help

Has anyone been in this situation before (or is going through the same?)?? Any recommendations??

It´s been more than 8 months now and the wait is killing me...

    Thanks!!!

We didn't get our approval until 8 months, so I understand the frustration. If an inquiry was put in for you and that's what he was saying you have to wait for than they can't do anything about that because once it's put in someone just has to pick it up. I would call back and talk to someone else and keep talking to someone else until someone is able to help you. I have also heard of people writing letters to the head of TSC, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing that....I wish I could be more helpful. Best of luck!!!! But definitely try calling back and talking to somebody else.

  4. Thank you guys for all the help!

And now I am confused... I emailed the embassy to check if I could do my medical now. They said to wait until I got medical and interview instructions from NVC. I thought the embassy would give me those instructions not the NVC...

I'm currently in the US until March 23rd but since we know our papers will be stuck at NVC for a while we figured we can extend my stay until around April 25. But I am worried NVC will start kicking into high gear again now that spring since to arrive and suddenly I'll be here in the states with instructions to do a medical and a date for our interview... But I should be fine to stay until april 25 right? There's no chance I can get a visa interview before that? I mean even getting a case number from NVC takes 2 weeks from USCIS shipping them to NVC right? and they haven't even done that yet... Yes, I am an expert on worrying...

Also when I talked to NVC yesterday they said that they said a "welcome package" once they case has been assigned a number...maybe this could be what they were talking about. Anybody receive a welcome letter or hear anything about it??

IN TRANSIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohooooo.....3 weeks today!! On it's way to Ghana. So happy!!

NICE!!! Congrats!!!! Hope you guys a speedy interview date :)

  5. Thank you guys!

Since I have been gone from the forum for so long, would you guys mind telling me what the current wait time is for our application to get to NVC? I heard a rumor about NVC being backed up, is this true?

When I spoke to a tier 2 agent about whether or not our approval was sent to NVC he said they ship them in batches but it should be being shipped soon. I'm assuming they were waiting on the last July filers to be shipped together, so hopefully in about a weeks time.

  6. For everyone waiting to hear back about their RFEs looks like it's taking about two weeks from the time they receive it...so hang in there! And to everyone in general still waiting my prayers are with you. TSC seems to be picking up the pace a bit and I hope you all hear something soon!!! Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support during this part of the journey.

Side note...idk if anyone downloaded that USCIS app that was talked about in this thread a little bit ago, but that's actually how I found out we were approved (through a notification). I just now got the text and email from USCIS.

  7. So I got the hard copy of our RFE today. I feel so relieved. I've been stressing about what they could be asking for evidence about. I was thinking that it was because I didn't answer the question about how we met very well...I took it literally...like how did we meet in person? BUT it wasn't that. I simply skipped a question and they wanted me to answer it, So I signed the papers and put them in the correct order. I put them in the mailbox tonight. So hopefully they will get to TSC by Wednesday. I'm hoping this is our only hiccup! Does anyone know about how long it will be before I see NOA2 if there are no more complications? I was thinking three weeks (HOPEFULLY)

According to VJ RFEs add an additional 15 days right now, so I would say between 2 and 3 weeks. That seems to be holding true from what I've heard from other RFEs. Tomorrow will be two weeks for us so definitely hoping that's true lol

  8. This is to wish all those still waiting an approval week God's willing. You will all receive ya much awaited goodnews this week by God's grace.

Pls what's up with MARIA&SEVE ... I have missed her on this forum and VJ as a whole. Always looking out for her comments and that of Loveinghana while i was waiting for approval.

Can't wait to read about your approval news Maria&Seve. I honestly wish you all the best

Thanks! She said she was taking a break from VJ, but would let us know when she got approved! All our well wishes are with them :)

I have a quick question about the RFE. Right now my case status is that they have sent the RFE to me and my case has been suspended in the mean time. I wonder if they will update the case status to something else after they receive my reply to the RFE to let me know they received it, or will the next change in my case status be for the NOA-2 (hopefully)?

So they received ours two weeks ago (well tomorrow will make two weeks) and they haven't changed by status online. From what I understand from other RFEs, they are just going to give you your NOA2. Of course they could update yours as some people get text and email notifications, some don't you never know lol. Hope that answered your question

  9. Unfortunately, we don't really know how to handle snow and ice here in the southern US. We only get snow storms once or twice a year, but usually that shuts everything down when it happens. I'm a teacher and my school was closed 2 days last week and we were released early on Friday because of the snow. So it's pretty bad.

Us too. I live in GA so we're right there with you with the whole snow issue lol...well hopefully this week they can do a little catch up....and by a little I mean give us all good news :)

  10. Yes it was assigned to what they call rhe special unit because there is a Senator inquiry on the case. To be honest I would be happy if we would receive the email notice and text, I can wait for the hard copy. One little secret most of the agents that look at cases and adjudicate are working from home snow should not be a delay for at least posting.

Seriously!!!! That is kind of irritating....I am officially out of excuses for TSC :( I feel you, I just want to hear back too. The hard copy at this point is the least of my concerns

  11. I am so upset with USCIS they called my senator and told them that we would have our notice between 14-21 days from February 9 and today is day 20 we have not received anything yet I am so tired of waiting on them we have been waiting for almost 8 months everytime I talk to a layer 2 officer they tell me that our case looks good no red flags so why are they taking so long dont they realize that peoples lives are put on hold waiting on them?

Do they tell you it was assigned to an officer yet? I'm really hoping we all hear something next week. Maybe things got a couple of days behind because of the snow :/ I know that doesn't help, but having a possible reason hopefully helps even just a little

  12. 7 days and we still haven't received our hard copy RFE in the mail. It was snowing a lot today and I live 90 miles north of Dallas and I know it was pretty bad down there as well. I hope that doesn't slow everything down again.

Probably is the snow...I think everything was pushed a little back because of the weather. Hopefully we'll all hear something next week if its just the weather because it would be ridiculous for it to be more than that for a couple of bad snow days. Is there weather there that bad???

  13. I got the text and email today for the RFE...and so the waiting continues, but perhaps there may be light at the end of this bureaucratic tunnel.

There definitely is and now yours is really in sight. Try and get the evidence in as soon as you can. We got our RFE Feb 3, sent it in the 12th and we are still waiting.....but the good news is now you know your approval is right around the corner. Hang in there!!!
