  1. Friends of mine that have visited Bohol also stopped and took some pics with the smallest man in the Philippines(maybe the world), Bayoyoy.

Here's a nice video of the different places to visit in Bohol.

The wife and I definitely need to go there someday.

  2. Does anyone else know of nonstop flights from Manila to the Southwest USA?

I know PAL flies nonstop to Los Angeles. But are there any other airlines that go nonstop to any major cities in the Southwest part of the USA? Like LA, San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, Dallas, or Houston?

    Thanks.

  3. Congrats!!!

I just have one question. If St. Lukes takes my wife's passport at the Medical Exam, and the guard at the Embassy asks for her ID, is it ok for her to show her old Postal ID with her maiden name? Or will her current NBI Clearance with her married name be ok?

    Thanks,

    Kalbo

  4. I'd be curious to see the $$$ amounts of how much money gets transferred to the Philippines via Western Union and Xoom everyday. I bet it would be shocking. What do you think??? :reading:

And not just from the USA, but from other foreign countries like Australia, UK, Europe...

I know it is not all going to be men sending women money. I'm sure a lot of it is overseas workers or family that has immigrated to other countries.

But, I do know of a few single guys that have gotten used for money by girls at Internet cafes and ones advertising their singleness on the asian dating websites.

    Buyer beware.

    The Medical Examination

All visa applicants, regardless of age, need to complete a medical examination at the St. Luke’s Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC) before the visa interview. Applicants are advised to have their medical examinations done at least one week before their interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Manila.

SLMCEC is located at 1177 J. Bocobo Street, Ermita, Manila. They can be reached by telephone at 521-0020 and 521-8647. SLMCEC is open from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is best to arrive for your medical examination between 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Applicants are served on a first come first served basis, but the order of release of the medical reports will depend on the complexity of the results of the medical examination.

So after you or your asawa gets the NVC Appointment email you can print it off and take it to the SLEC for the Medical Exam.

  6. CAN i ASK WHO WILL SCHEDULE THE MEDICAL EXAM AT SAINT LUKES?AS IM READING ALL YOUR REPLIES,U ALL SAID THAT ONLT THE INTERVIEW HAS AN APPOINTMENT DATE.

SLEC Medical Exams are on a first come first server basis. My wife is figuring a Monday won't be as busy as the other days.

  7. I know that K3 and CR1 has different immigration processing but what you are asking is about medical in SLEC and I believe that no matter what, SLEC has the same procedure in accepting applicants whether he/she is on K3, CR1 or whatever visa they are applying for.

But anyways, i hope you hear answers from CR1 applicants caz that is what you want :) Good Luck!

Possibly it is the same procedure between k1/k3 and CR1/IR1 applicants, but I do want to be very very sure. I don't want a phone call from a mad little filipina if I tell her the wrong directions. :ranting:
  8. Thank you two for your quick replies. But I see that you both are K3 applicants. I believe your processing is slightly different from the CR1 applicants. You are married like me, but going through the immigration process like a Fiance Visa, diba?

Anyways, I just got off the phone from with the NVC. They told me that the Appointment letter is no longer being mailed to the beneficiary. That the beneficiary(my wife) can just print the email Appointment Letter that I received from the NVC.

I would like to hear from the other CR1 applicants with close to the same time line as mine.

    Thanks,

    Kalbo

  9. I got the email from NVC on 3/09 telling us that my wife's Embassy Interview is scheduled for April 15th.

My wife wants to go to Manila to do the Medical Exam on 3/23.

She has not received the Appointment Letter in the mail yet.

So, can she show up at the SLEC Medical Exam with a printed copy of the NVC email Appointment letter.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Kind regards,

    Kalbo

  10. Ok, I'm getting conflicting information....

I had read and been told by people that my wife needs the USEM letter in order to go take her Medical Exam at SLEC.

I have already received the email from NVC stating that she has her interview scheduled at the USEM on April 15th. And she wants to go take the Medical Exam on March 23rd. But now she's getting worried because she has not gotten the USEM letter in the mail yet.

So Yes or No, can she just print the NVC email appoitment letter and take it to SLEC for her Medical Examination??

    Thanks,

    Kalbo

  11. Wow, so many people giving this girl such a hard time.

You all say read the guides and use the search feature.

Do you mean this out of date guide that is pinned in this section?

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=129059

Not ONLY is it out of date, but it's also geared towards the K1/K3 process.

The Philippines section of VJ is definitely helpful and needed after you get past the NOA2/NVC stages of immigration, diba? Because the NOA1/NOA2/NVC process is the same for K1/K3 and CR1/IR1 applicants no matter what country they are from. But once you get to dealing with the Embassy things are very specific to the country, diba? But as we all know things in immigration change. Things at the Embassy change.

I personally have spent hours upon hours that last few days looking through these threads for the latest and greatest information about the Medical Exam and Interview procedures/requirements for a CR1 applicant.

I have a nervous wife that is expecting me to find out everything this is needed/expected before she goes traveling to Manila to have her fun at SLEC and USEM.

Let me see, some things that have changed in the last year that aren't in a specific Philippines guide are...

-- Medical Exam costs $213 USD, but to be paid in Pesos.

    -- No more document verification?

-- Delbros is no longer used for visa delivery, but AIR21 is now delivering visas. I still haven't seen in any post how much that delivery fee is.

Anyways, It would be nice to see some Pinned threads that have up to date information on Medical Exams and Interview process.

Maybe there could be a Pinned "Medical Exam Experience" thread and a Pinned "Interview Experience" thread.

And of course a Pinned "I received my visa today" thread.

Oh and BTW, why are there two Pinned threads that are essentially the same thing? "~Say Anything Thread~" and "~Off Topic Thread~". Things that make you go Hmmmmmm.

And I give a big congratulations to all the latest Medical Exam/Interview Passed and Visa Received applicants!

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

  12. Ok, I just called NVC. And the operator told me to put "ATTN: ACL" to get it to the correct people faster.

I'd call them back and get the email address and instructions for emailing the choice of agent. Or somebody will come by and answer with those instructions.

Everything I've read about emailing the DS-3032 is that its slower than mailing it. So why bother??
