I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Your examiner must have had some suspicion about the actual income of your petitioner, because the IRS transcript is supposed to actually be a higher and more complete document than a tax return and W-2.

Or...you had an examiner who just didn't understand the "rules". NVC is notorious for this, but I'm really surprised the Consular Officer has done this. Hopefully you can get over the insanity of this request very soon.

When the Consular Officer first brought up the concern regarding the need of the W2 I was surprised. She then went and asked her supervisor if it was actually needed. It was even more surprising when he said it was needed. Maybe they confused the IRS transcript as a tax return instead, because a W2 was provided with the joint sponsor as well as the IRS transcript to show individual income from a joint tax filing. Why it's needed at all is bizarre. It's not like you can really argue much with them. The examiner may have been suspicious though, who knows. Our joint sponsor earns more than enough to cover us. I've been supporting my wife while we've been living in Australia as she has limited work rights, and my income won't follow over to the USA, so maybe they want to confirm my wife's previous US income with a W2.

I sent them a copy of the W2 and the full tax return obtained from TurboTax. Hopefully they have everything they need now. I do feel like if I had of gotten another CO it would have been approved on the spot, so it's just luck of the draw.

I had my interview in Sydney yesterday. Everything went really smoothly until right at the end when the CO was reviewing the Evidence of Support. Our joint sponsor was approved without problem, but the visa application was denied because there was no 2013 W2 submitted for the petitioner. Apparently the IRS tax transcript is not enough, and for our situation the 2013 W2 is required rather than the 2014. I was instructed to email a copy of the petitioner's 2013 W2 and am now waiting on a verdict.

I was devastated that I was denied, and it was totally unexpected because I was confident I had everything required.

From what I can tall it usually takes 3 - 5 days to revieve your passport back with ones visa in it after the interview, is this correct?

I know it's not recommended but I am thinking I will book my flight to America for July 8th as we are having a big wedding celebration the week after and I don't want to miss my own wedding and i dont want to also pay double for my flight.. Hoping 8 days is a big enough window to ensure I have my passport as only going from Melbourne to Sydney. ...

Got a reply from support-australia@ustraveldocs.com. So that definitely is the right address for the Sydney consulate. Unfortunately they said they're completely booked, so no earlier interview possible

I was the one that just updated that page The previous email address doesn't resolve. The new email address I added does seem to work, but I haven't had a reply yet.

I tried emailing the Sydney consulate and it got rejected: "Your message can't be delivered because delivery to this address is restricted." So I've emailed two other related addresses I've found.

Did you get any response? The sydneyiv@state.gov email address failed for me too.

Since I did EP, is there anything to track at DHL?

Over an hour on the phone waiting, but worth it! Interview scheduled for May 19th.

Total wait time: 1 hour 36 minutes. For nothing. He said that this wait time is completely normal. He also said that getting an interview can take weeks, months, and even in some extreme cases years, "such as if Spain were to go to war." A rather curious response I thought...

1 hour 20 for me. "You'll be contacted when an interview is scheduled."

I did EP in Australia and got case completed in 22 days. I got the 60 day spiel but thankfully didn't have to wait that long. I imagine I'm one of the first to use EP in Australia because it has only just been added to the EP program.

FYI, my case was approved in less than a month.

Judging by recent results for Canadians and others using EP, you would be better off paper filing via snail mail. People on paper are getting Case Completes in 50-60 days. Those filing EP are taking 70+ days.

That's unfortunate. Snail mail would be more difficult for us because we don't currently have the originals of all the signed documents, only faxed copies.

I just received email notification from the NVC stating that my case has now been the Electronic Processing Program. So the answer to my own question is 13 days.

Australia has recently been added to the list of countries allowing EP. I've confirmed this information (by phone) with the NVC.

I've emailed through my EP application to the NVC and am waiting for a response. I imagine I'm one of the first in Australia to use the electronic processing system. Is anybody else using EP in Australia?

After the AOS and IV forms have been emailed, how long typically does it take for a response?

I paid IV today and waiting for it to clear so that i can complete DS 260. Does anyone know how long it takes for DS 260 to be available?

It took about 3 weeks for me. I sent in the AOS and IV files about a week before completing the DS-260. For most people the DS-260 is available within a couple days of paying, but when I called the NVC they said they're experiencing system errors that are causing delays.

Need help on my DS-260. In the spouse section it asks me "if your spouse immigrating to the US with you?" What should I answer to this as my wife is a US citizen and my petitioner ?

if is choose no then it asks to "is your spouse immigrating to the US at a later stage?"

Just came across that question too. I'm going to answer "No" because the key word there is immigrating. A US citizen doesn't need to immigrate to the US. It's a bit confusing.

mine is same thing what happen to you now is still in process. when I tried calling them they have that speaker call back later now they don't put on hold?

You've just got to keep trying to get through. I called and they said they got the payment, their computer system just has a glitch. I already emailed the AOS and IV application a week ago, even though I haven't submitted the DS-260 yet. They told me that's fine and just to do the DS-260 when it becomes available. The IV fee is was now marked as "Paid" today so now I need to do the DS-260.

I paid the IV fee at the beginning of the month and it's still "In Process." So frustrating. The money was cleared basically the next day but NVC is still processing.

To make my father in law more comfortable, a solution may be for me to get my own travel medical insurance. Are there medical insurance options available for green card holders?

I have to say that is shoddy of her parents, they must think they will be held accountable economically somehow? I bet if they were reassured there are pretty much no risks involved, it'd be fine. Your wife need to pressure them a little. I wish you luck! I'm in a similar situation but my inlaws are more than happy to help us/me (i'm the applicant).

We've already pressured them. Her dad felt backed into a corner and is now consulting a lawyer. He doesn't believe the risks are minimal, he thinks this could result in him being financially ruined. What's frustrating isn't that he wants to see a lawyer but that he has left this right until the last minute when it's time to send in the application. We've been working on getting the form signed for months.
