  1. http://www.cbp.gov/contact/ports Guam is showing as a POE now. :)

My wife and I will be leaving China and our first entry into the US will be Guam. We will stay there a week before going to Los Angeles and then Las Vegas. We will have been married for 2 years and one day when we enter Guam. Since Guam will be our POE, is there anything we need to be prepared for when we arrive at the airport in LA a week later? Will she will just need to show her visa in LA and be able to enter like any other visitor?

  2. I have read that it usually takes about two days for people to get their visa after a successful interview and I have read an account of someone got theirs in 3 days. My wife also talked to a "consultant" who said it usually takes about 5 days. What is the experience of those who have had their interview at the Guangzhou consulate, how long after the interview until you had the visa in your hands?

  3. My wife's divorce agreement states "Husband shall have the right to visit their son at any time." The father has never visited their four year old son since the divorce two years ago. Do I need something in writing from the father in order to get a visa for the son? Should I just proceed with the I-130 for the son without any documentation from the natural father or a change in the divorce agreement? The marriage and divorce was in China.

  4. The instructions for the I-130 state, "If you are a U.S. citizen you must file a separate Form I-130 for each eligible relative." But there is no mention on the form about step-son. Should I fill out an I-130 and check the block for "Child" and then check "No" for "Are you related by adoption?" I have not adopted my wife's son yet. He is 4 years old.
