  1. Jaaaaamas...

I saw your picture somewhere else in this forum and I thought 'what a cute couple'...

    Happy to see you...

I had biometrics mid-December in 2005 and had interview 2 months later. Maybe it was too soon?

I decided not to worry about it. Waiting for INS takes toll on people, I guess...

Anyways, congraturations for being approved, cute couple!

  2. Hey, bettenan,

    Everything seems great for you.

Forgot to tell you to bring the 'employment letter'. We did not bring it and subsitituted it with pay stub but it was the first thing asked for and wish we had it...

If you are working in the federal government, I think you did not even need to paid for your lawyer. Easy cake...you know...

  3. Good luck for your interview tomorrow.

It was very easy process until the FBI thing popped up.

I heard it happens from time to time and does not need to worry.

    I am just frustrated.

Just get 2005 W2s and 2004 tax return files ready...better to make copies since the officer had to make copies himself and I felt sorry...

Please bring your wedding album and even though the officer did not look at them, he noticed it and joked saying that I was overprepared...*^^*

I hope everything will be fine...really In and Out for Green Card...*^^*

  4. Hello,

    Today, I had an interview.

The immigration officer approved the case, stamped my passport, took AP and work authorization card. Right before we left, he checked the FBI record and it was not done yet. He crossed out the green card approval on my passport and gave me AP and work authorization card back and told me INS should wait to hear from FBI. He said he will make sure to approve it as soon as he hears from FBI.

Frustrated but happy that I don't need to prepare all those documents again. He said my passport will be enough when they hear from FBI since he already approved me. Told me to make sure return AP and work authorization card when I get green card.

One advice is that please make sure to bring file of last year's tax return and this years W2 because it was everything he asked for. If your spouse has big paycheck, it seems like nothing matters...Just asked two questions, when we got married and where we met...then approved the case...

    Frustrated

P.S. Did anyone have same case? How long does it take? The officer said he doesn't know since FBI doesn't like INS contacting them for 'minor issues' since FBI is 'private' organization?

  6. Hello, I waited for 6 months after application and I did not get the appointment.

If you look at Notice of Action of I-485, it says 'Call ... to schedule your appointment'

I called and you know that? I got the appointment the next day. (Can you see the problem of communication among CIS branches?)

One thing you should remember is that ask the confirmation number. The official at the biometric center will ask for your 'appointment letter'. You can just say you scheduled it through the phone and give him/her confirmation number. They will check the number and contact CIS and will go head. Hope it helps.

Have interview next Tuesday. Please wish me a good luck!!!

  7. So it is not rejection then...

There are many people dealing with REAL rejection here and I feel bad thinking of someone in that situation clicking this post and getting more frustrated...

Send the signature and that's it, I guess...

I would change the title even though CIS uses those words like rejection. They say they will DEPORT you if you do not report change of address within 10 days of moving. Even though that form is in effect for 50 years, it never happened so far...

  8. Happy Valentine's Day to you as well, Dorane!

I waited and waited (6 months) and decided to call CIS to get fingerprinting dates.

I just said 'I called to make appointment for fingerprinting' and you know what? I did it the next day!

Make sure to get 'comfirmation number' since the immigration officials at the fingerprinting place will ask for the letter. You can just say you did reservation on the phone, give the name of the person you talked to and give the confirmation number.

Good luck and don't go crazy *^^*

  9. Hello,

My husband and I moved to a new apartment on July 15th.

Since all the bills, bank statements and other mails are going to our old address (my husband's parent's house) and we visit there once a week, I did not worry about change of address.

Today, I called USCIS and asked whether I should change address in this case and the official said I should and helped me with the process.

She did not ask me when I moved. Just changed the address on my I-485 application and gave me confirmation number. She told me to file change of address forms (my husband and me). My husband's form asks when we moved to new place and I am wondering whether it is ok to put July 15th. As far as I know, I should have changed it within 10 days after the moving...

I have interview on Feb 21st (next week) and want to make sure everything is going ok.
