  1. Merrytooth, thank you for that clarification. I would have thought that my lawyer would have known that. Hmmm. Now, I guess this is an issue of what to do to fix this.

We did DS-160 applications for both and I flew to Kyiv to go to the interview. We only scheduled 1 interview (for my fiancée) and we all attended. Is there some way of having the K2 re-issued or renewed? We explained to the consular officer at the interview that the daughter was planning to stay and then follow after.

The only contact information that I have for the Embassy is their email address. Early in this process this past spring, I sent them an email question. They never responded.

  2. My Ukrainian fiancée and her 17 year old daughter just received their K1 (and K2) visas today!! The daughter will be graduating in late June and intends to follow my fiancée here to the United States after graduation. Everything I've been told by my lawyer (hired for advice, not as representation) and found from researching online is that the K2 has up to 1 year to enter USA after the K1 visa was issued. However, both the K1 and the K2 visa both say that they expire on 23 May (6 months from the medical exam). The daughter cannot leave that early. I thought we had 1 year! If anyone has any ideas as to how to fix this, they would be greatly appreciated.
