This morning, I received an email saying they are scheduling an interview — unsure of the date bc no document yet but estimated time did say 6 months, which made me a little nervous. Hope it’s a glitch and it turns out to be sooner than later! Guess it’s time to start studying 🤣

    filed on 09/19

    bio reuse on 12/30

Exciting! What state are you filing from?

  2. I am thinking about doing a trip to New Zealand to see family for 2 months (March - May~)
Filed in California and don't expect an interview until October... But now I see a lot of September filers getting interviews!
Do you think I should be ok to go for a 2 month trip?
Terrified of missing my appointment, but it seems safe given California seems to be slower than other parts...

For those of you asking about where VSC is at.  I ran the numbers day by day from January 2, 2018, and the most recent date with active case actions, as recent as today (February 8, 2019), is the cases filed on January 9, 2018.

So they are working at about 13 months back from today’s date.

What app is this :)? I want to know what my # says. When I look at case tracker it just says your fingerprints were received in May.

We received our biometrics letter today on 4/27. Dated for 4/20/2018.

Our appointment is scheduled for 5/11/2018 HOWEVER - this is the one week for the whole year we will be out of town. :(

There is a box at the bottom that says please reschedule my appointment. Is it best to just select reschedule? Do we cancel our trip? I don't want this to cause a major set back in the process :(

Any recommendations or is there any other way around this? Our office is in Charlotte, NC - thanks!

Hey I was worried about this too when I went on a trip last week. I would go early if I were you! Try this week. Here's a thread about people who went early. Seems like most had success. Good luck! let us know how it goes

I also received mine today by the way! Love that usps informed delivery for letting me know this morning. Same as you, notice date 4/20, received today 4/27 and appointment for 5/11

Hi Shoobi! I remember you from AOS. I put none on the first line and N/A for the first child, but left the rest blank. I don't know if people get RFE's for leaving it blank though. I left other sections blank too. I just did what made sense to me, I hope it makes sense to them. I wouldn't stress about it too much, if they don't like it, they'll send you a RFE and you just send it back.

Thanks iPod, that makes sense! I remember you too :) Nice to see you again.

ps - how do you collapse your timeline?

  6. Today was my interview.

It went very well, we were approved on the spot!!

The immigration officer asked most of the questions to my husband (the US citizen). He asked my father's name, how many people came to our wedding, our wedding date and to tell him about me.

He basically only asked me about the questions that were on the application (the criminal ones and my address).

    It lasted about 30 minutes.

I brought photos, wedding invitation, tickets to shows, trips we took together and he took all of these. He said our photos were nice.

All in all, I was very nervous, but it went well and my online status is already changed to My Card is Being Produced.

I couldn't have done it so successfully without you guys and the forum. This forum is full of really helpful and nice people and it saved us a lot of money. For those who are still waiting I wish you the best of luck!! :):):)

Congrats iPod!!!!!!!! So glad to hear the interview went well and your card is being produced :) To think, we both got 2 RFEs, and still got our GC and EAD relatively quickly :)

  7. Anyone who had the same experience on this forum post with the same RFE sent their RFE response and have had a response from USCIS??

Just wanting to know how long it took for your approval/response since sending in your RFE response?

As you can see from my signature, it didn't affect my ead which is awesome. But then I got a random RFE from texas saying my medical was expired even though that is impossible as it is 6 months old and they last for a year... I did another medical and mailed it back. FYI an officer put in a service request for me about this issue and i got the response and it was totally useless. It just told me what I already know and did not even mention this most recent RFE.

Still waiting to hear about GC.

  8. Ok, it won't let me Edit.

I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 Agent ( He was very nice and helpful! Even him doesn't get WHY I had 2 biometrics!! )

    1) Processing time normally start when they receive the petition, so I am sitting on day 81.

    2) I should normally get something this week. If not Call back next week and they'll check what is going on.

    3) My 2nd Biometrics should not slow my I/485 processing. We will see

OH, don't try calling if you feel under the weather. I sounded absolutely retarted and my mouth was not coordinated with my brain and I kept blurting stuff out. The agent was nice enough, thank God haha.

Did you see this? It's just on the vj home page http://www.visajourney.com/news/2014/10/06/uscis-biometric-appointment-notices-issued-in-error/

It's from October 6th 2014 but saw it and thought of you.

Oh man, It's a shame you had to spend more money on an unnecessary medical. I really hope this is the last annoying news you hear about your case and everything is smooth and fast from this point on. Best of luck!! Keep us posted.

Thanks for the kind words B and E! Hope you get your EAD soon.

It really is annoying, but at least you'll be less stressed out about what you sent to them.

The USCIS case status website has not been updated in a while. My interview notice says May 6th, but the website still says RFE response received (April 20th). I guess they are super backlogged right now and can't keep up with the updates.

Good point iPod, thanks :). That actually makes me feel better. So excited for you for your interview! Let us know how it goes!

  9. Have you heard anything about this yet?

    .

So I basically freaked out and intercepted my package. I saw people say they got denied when they didn't send a new medical. The officer I spoke to the first time put in a service request for me to say I shouldn't have got that letter because my medical is not expired but at this point I don't want to risk denial. I'm at the medical office waiting for a new medical :( it really sucks. At least they dropped the price since my vaccines are less than 6 months old.

I would have understood if I had a letter saying they don't have it (because they lost it) but they said mine was expired. It's incredibly infuriating. My exam was less than 6 months ago!

Another frustrating thing is that this rfe does not show up on my case tracking. It feels like it doesn't exist in their system. It also means I won't see if they receive my new expensive medical. I'm so anxiety ridden from this entire process. I pray that this medical is the last thing they need from me.

Thanks for checking in though :)

  10. I just got another random letter in the mail from USCIS.

It was my interview letter!!!!! I was jumping up and down. :dancing::dancing::dancing:

I had been so stressed out worrying about the RFIE's.

Now I have to assemble all the required documents.

I can't wait to be done.

    happy for you iPod!!!!!!!!

I hope everything with my "expired medical" works out... I wish i just did a new medical and sent it to them rather than follow the instructions of the officer i talked to and mail a letter saying it can't be expired.. I'm hoping to intercept the package so we will see.. The tracking hasn't updated since yesterday but it is estimated to be delivered tomorrow. Whether that is to my address or uscis I do not know.

Anyway, all the best for the interview :) :)

  11. I nearly had a panic attack today seeing all these vj posts about people who had sent what they were told to send by a USCIS officer on the phone and then getting denied.

I had mailed my package this morning... And felt I was near doomed when a friend said you can intercept packages. I have intercepted the package, had to pay another $19 but better to be safe than sorry. I just hope it works.

Will just do another medical and send it to them. It sucks and I don't know why they are picking on my case... If they lost my medical, I wish they would tell me I didn't submit it or that they didn't have it so I didn't feel so crazy trying to respond to the "expiry" part. I've been trying to follow the rules perfectly but still they make you jump through hoops.

  12. Honestly, I know this sucks, but I think they must have lost your medical results that you handed over at POE. I've heard of this happening before and the applicant has to get another medical done and submit the I693 results. I'm not sure if this is the case with you--I hope it's not. :/

I hope it isn't too. For me though, they specifically said it was expired, not that it was missing. I called and asked what to do and did exactly what they told me. I saw this thread and it made me very scared of a potential denial. The officer also filed a service request for me which I referenced in my letter and I wrote down his name. If they want me to do a new medical because they don't have it, that is fine, but if get denied because they said it was expired... I will be very upset. It seems to be a mistake on their part. Maybe they don't have my medical, but I would think they would use different wording in the letter.

  13. Does anyone have insight regarding the Irving TX address? Or this "Please comply" list they sent... It doesn't look like an RFE (at least the other one I received )

Did you actually get an i693 vaccination supplement done from a doc in the US or did you just send the DS3025? I'm kind of confused because you don't get the i693 done in your home country, you get it done here. If you did it here, the doc should have given you a copy, and if not, you can request that.

Honestly, the form is really, really weird and making me nervous. It doesn't look like the RFE I got and it asks for info to be sent to Irving, TX instead of Lee's Summit... I just sent the DS3025. I had my medical done in my home country and when I filed my AOS I just included my DS3025. The man on the phone yesterday made it sound like this was an oversight but it seems totally bizarre... The letter was blue, see attached.

Also, it does not show up in my case status so I will have no way of knowing if they officially received it...

USCIS is so inconsistent with information tracking. I called them this morning and asked about whether my case was pending at NBC or was transferred to my local office already. The first time I called them the customer representative told me that my filed was already at my local office. Then I read some threads online saying it's better to confirm with a tier 2 officer, so I called them again and asked for transferring to a USCIS officer. After 30 minutes waiting, the officer called me and told me my case was not transferred yet. But he also said I will definitely get a letter from USCIS when my case is transferred to my local office, which I don't think it's true as I did't see anyone here gotten the transfer notice. Not sure what the real information is at this point.

Yes... I'm extremely nervous about my case as well. I'm a New Jersey filer but they accidentally sent me a letter from Irving TX saying my medical form i-693 is expired when it is not and as francais_usa points out, the form from your home country is different anyway. I will feel extremely stressed if I think about it too much.

  14. Update: I called uscis today and spoke to a cute old man who was very nice and told me the form must have been an oversight as there is no way my medical would have expired. He said to respond to it saying as much with any proof I have that my medical took place in November 2015. I've photocopied the receipt, the ds3025, the CD xray, the xray report.... Unfortunately my doctor never gave me the i693. It feels like we should be allowed to keep a copy for our records. Did anyone get a copy of theirs in their home country?

  15. I did not submit my husband's proof of citizenship, however, if you feel nervous about it and it's easy enough to include, I would just include a photocopy of his biographic page. But I believe they do not ask for it from your spouse. If you have a joint sponsor, definitely include the joint sponsor's proof. I used my aunt as a joint sponsor and sent a copy of her naturalization certificate as well as passport biographic page.

  16. Guys I need help!!!

First off, MASH congrats!!! I've been hoping you would hear something soon and so glad you got your approval. After hearing about your good news as well as others in the thread, I checked my mailbox and saw a USCIS letter. Very excited, I opened it up and it was a blue letter that said:

Your Medical Examination of Aliens seeking Adjustment of Status Form I-693 is expired. Please resubmit a new Medical.

My Medical was on November 17, 2015

My POE was December 23, 2015

    My NOA 1 was February 23, 2016

As far as I understand, medicals expire a year after they are either performed or submitted. I will call USCIS tomorrow but would love any thoughts. Mildly freaking out. Already had one RFE and thankfully received my EAD but the stress of more immigration back and forth is too much.
