  1. Basically my fiancee got her papers and such in the mail. And the packet that states "not to open" already had this tear in it. Less then a inch does anyone think it'll be a issue or should she return to the Embassy to have it resealed? She'd have to fly back there again for a 3rd time and rather avoid wasting more money unless needed. Thanks in advance everyone.

  2. Congrats! the A# (Alien number...usually A +9 digits) is going to be your file number that USCIS uses to identify you. You will mostly use the A# with most communications between you and USCIS!

    Congrats!

Congrats! Your approved case will be forwarded to your local US consulate (that you listed on your forms when you filed your petition) for interview processing! The approval and expiry dates are just a set time frame within which you should be processed/interviewed. Also note that the expiry date can be extended by the consulate if there is a delay in your processing! Good luck to you.

Ah understood and thank you very much!

  3. It means that the beneficiaries details have been input to the USCIS computer system and an Alien Registration Number (ARN) has been allocated to them. The beneficiary will use this number in most USCIS related matters until they gain citizenship. The online tracker message is unclear but it basically means the ARN changed from not having one to having one.

Does that mean the beneficiary will receive this ARN in the mail?
