  1. Hello-

    Exciting progress!

I am really hoping you can answer a quick question as we are trying to send in our packet 3 on Monday! I am currently visiting my fiancé in Germany, and it has taken some time to get all of the info together, as he was working abroad for the past few months.

On the page 2 of the application checklist.....

it asks for the Document delivery Address: We filled this out online, but we never got a "registration confirmation" for the ustraveldocs site. The form says-

PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION PAGE WITH THE OTHER DOCUMENTS THAT YOU SEND TO THE CONSULATE BEFORE INTERVIEW.

Where did you receive a copy of the registration confirmation?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks- Susan

  2. Hi everyone- Tabeak- I enjoy following your timeline as I am right behind you at Frankfurt. USCIS says they sent our NOA2 to NVC on July 13th but no word yet.

I'm pretty sure the K-1 visa is considered non-immigrant. I know this makes no sense based on the wording, but I recall reading about it a few weeks ago. The terminology seems but after I thought about it for a while, I think the reason it is classified as nonimmigrant, is that the beneficiary is a nonimmigrant until they marry the US citizen and adjust their status. If they come and don't marry, they will remain nonimmigrant. Maybe this is their logic?

    from Wiki

"Although a K-1 visa is legally classified as a non-immigrant visa, it usually leads to important immigration benefits and is therefore often processed by the Immigrant Visa section of United States embassies and consulates worldwide. If a K-1 visa holder does not marry his or her U.S. citizen petitioner within 90 days of entry, then he or she must depart the United States within 30 days."

from the U.S. Department of State page titled. Nonimmigrant Visa for a Fiance(e) (K-1)

"The fiancé(e) K-1 nonimmigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) of a United States (U.S.) citizen. The K-1 visa permits the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) to travel to the United States and marry his or her U.S. citizen sponsor within 90 days of arrival. The foreign-citizen will then apply for adjustment of status to a permanent resident (LPR) with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Because a fiancé(e) visa permits the holder to immigrate to the U.S. and marry a U.S. citizen shortly after arrival in the United States, the fiancé(e) must meet some of the requirements of an immigrant visa....."

  3. Just want to thank all of you for keeping the questions and dialogue going- following along has helped me get an idea of what to expect as far as how long everything takes.

I finally got a message yesterday that our case is being sent to NVC! I hope things will move along now....

My fiancée is sailing across the Atlantic back to Europe--- keeping my fingers crossed that the Package 3 will be waiting for him!

  4. Hi everyone! I am SUPER excited we finally received our NOA2 last Saturday 6/27. I have been watching so many get through the first phase and finally we feel a bit of relief. I also posted this on the main page, but you all over here seem to know your stuff so I am hoping for a bit of advice.

It was especially wonderful that we got the news when we were together! My fiancee will leave the US next week, he is sailing across the Atlantic for work. He will then return to Germany the first few days of August. We are so ready to move forward once he arrives and I wonder what happens if the packet 3 arrives at his German home while he is out of touch? This may delay us a bit, but I just want to check if I need to be concerned. Does anyone know about the German consulate? Is it ok if it takes a little more time to return packet 3?

Also what should I be working on while he's gone. (Aside from the Affidavit of Support)

    Thank you!

  6. Congratulations TabeaK! This makes me hopeful! I have a German beneficiary as well ;)

I hope we hear something soon. The only challenge we have is that the 129-f may go through in July.... My fiancee with be sailing across the Atlantic on a private yacht for work, and he will be out of touch, so I hope that won't cause any delays if it goes through while he is traveling. He will be ready for the next steps hopefully in August. Fingers crossed!

  7. Hi everyone-

I've been working on the I-129f package and I pretty sure that I have almost everything together!

Just one question- may be basic- but I'm finding conflicting info.

As far as the mailing address. I planned to send the pkg express mail to the Texas lockbox.

When my fiancee wrote and signed his letter of intent (he gave it to me before he had to leave the country on my birthday :(

we used the Texas address on the letter.....

But.....given that I live in Maine, it looks like my petition will actually be process in Vermont.

May be obvious- but just want to double check- do I still send the package to Texas, is the Express mail address the best?

Also- Hopefully it's ok that he used the Texas address on his letter of intent? Should I use the same address or should I put in Vermont address

For example he used the Texas address ----- Is this ok!?

    Thanks for your help!
