  1. Hi everyone,

I had my interview today, it went perfect.

I went to interview with my husband, even though it was not required.

After giving my interview letter, I was called by IO for the interview.

He asked for my GC, Driver's Licence and Passport. While I was giving them, I handed out my husband's passport as well.

He said, "well, since you have his passport, I already convinced that you really are married."

He asked me how we met, if we have kids.

I had bunch of documents, tax papers, marriage certificate, bank statements etc etc...

He didn't ask any of the documents. None!

He formally asked questions from the N-400.

And then asked 4-5 questions from the book, made me read 'who can vote?' Made me write 'Citizens can vote'

    Finished... Literally 5-10 min.

Then he approved it and then gave me the date for the oath ceremony

My date is October 23rd, on Friday.

Thank you for the support during the journey. I wish the best of luck to everyone!

  2. it has been almost 1 month since i did my biometric but I still have not yet received an email saying i am in line. Is it normal? i heard it only takes a couple of days for them to do background check and name check and i should be expecting an email after after they finish checking. I live in Los Angeles and sent my file to Phoenix, AZ.

I've read that they are considering 3 year anniversary of your GC.

    My case ;

I have my GC since 10/11/2012

So that I sent my application in the beginning of 90 days 07/14/2015

I had my bio in August but they can't set up an interview because I still didn't have my 3rd year anniversary of my GC.

The rule is you can't have oath ceremony unless you have fulfilled 3 years of your GC

So don't worry at all. I am in the same boat.

    Cheers

If you applied 5 year rule, then you have to fullfill 5 years with your GC

  3. Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if eveything is okay with my case...

I've done the biometrics last Monday on the 10th of August...

But when I check my status update, the message is the same, "We got your file on July 16th blah blah, not even mentioning bio"

I am out of town and I never asked my husband if there is any mail on my name from Uscis, but I was thinking that they will change on the status on the website anyway...

Is eveything ok not to hear from Uscis at all after the bio?

    Thanks in advance...

  4. Library is also a good option, I filled out my forms there... Cheaper than Fedex, considering you need to print out 21 pages...

    Goodluck to everyone..

    Thanks so much for replying!

My windows laptop is soooo slow and outdated that I would rather go to FedEx and rent their computer to print the forms. I just hope that i can finally see the 2D barcode when i use their computer.

I have a Mac but I couldn't find a reliable source to install the latest version of IE. So I guess everybody in this group used the one with 2D barcode, right?

If you have other suggestions, I'm all ears. :-) Thanks a lot again!

  5. Hi Kash2011

Thank you again being so kind taking your time to open the page, and to make sure to do all the updates...

I was just looking at the list, Cowboy Swetheart's GC date is wrong I assume... Otherwise he/she wouldn't be eligible to send it early, looks like same as mine... I guess he/she has GC since April 2012 or so...

    Cheers,

CowboySwetheart's info added! Good luck :)

  6. I was thinking of sending the evidence on the document checklist only..

But then when I was looking for a sample letter for the cover page, I realized people are sending everything again...

I decided it wouldn't hurt some documentation..

So I am sending our joint bank statements, driver's licence-showing the same address, utility bill, dental bill, health and car insurance along with IRS Tax Return Transcripts... That took my 5 minutes to get photocopied anyway...

    Good luck to everone...

Hello and good luck to all July filers. I will also be filling in July, can you please add me? My green card date is 10/15/2012. My field office is Kansas City. I am filling under the three year rule, so here comes the question, how much evidence to send in? I have read multiple threads on this topic, and people have all kinds of different opinions, so would someone on here would like to offer theirs? Thank you.

  7. Thanks for the reply...

But i already answered him/her by saying, I will simply click 'No', and won't submit anything...

But if he finds out and brings up the citation, I will just say, that is less than 500 $ and not alcohol or drug related, so My understanding was not to mention about it... That will be my approach...

Because I read that if you say Yes, they expect something bigger case...

    Thanks for the reply again...

With the above being said, if you ticked "yes", you better attach a copy of the citation you received in order to avoid any possible delay of your case.

  8. Thanks JimmyHou...

No worries, I got my answer from that link, question/answer number 7, last sentence make it clear that "Unless a traffic incident was alcohol and drug related (mine was not), you do NOT need to submit documentation for traffic incidents that did not involve an actual arrest (no arrest in my case) if the only penalty was a fine less than $500 and/or points on your driver's licence" (mine was only $238).

So clearly I don't need to mention anything...

But thank you for your reply anyway...

Are you talking about a passport application or a naturalization application? I'm asking because you're posting on the passport tracker thread. If you're talking about passport applications, please ignore this.

On the naturalization application, YES, you do have to mention it. It asks you to list all times you were cited and you were cited. It's very simple. There's NOTHING at all anywhere on any guideline or instruction sheet that says that you don't have to mention it if it's under $500 for an N400 application.

Please re-read the link that you posted: the question that you quoted (question 7) DOES NOT say that you don't need to mention it. It says that you do not have to submit documentation for offences under $500.

If you received a citation and you say that you did not receive a citation, then you are clearly providing false information.

"Even if you have committed a minor crime, USCIS may deny your application if you do not tell the USCIS officer about the incident. Note that unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, you do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine less than $500 and/or points on your drivers license"

There's a good chance that your interviewer won't care, but I advice you to follow the instructions.
