  1. If you are flying from Pearson in Toronto you will be doing your immigration in Toronto. The same place you did your customs is where they take care of the visa activation. My spouse had a 9am flight and arrived at airport at 6am but the wait time at the customs was very long she ended up missing her flight because it took the immigration people 50 mins to activate her visa and that was after he waiting in a long customs line. So avoid travelling early in morning and avoid Mondays was what the Immigration officer told my spouse. The process was easy just go up the to immigration officer tell them about your immigrating to the USA and they will do it right there or take you to secondary area to activate the visa. But be prepared by having your documents given to you with your passport and be prepared to wait and arrive early.

  2. Thank you everyone for all the help on this journey. We received email from the US consulate this morning saying the visa packet was available for pick up. And to Burlington we went and picked up the visa packet. So from Interview on 21st Oct to visa pick up on Oct 27th it has been a terrific week. For those who are still on this journey good luck to you and if you are having issues with the website i would recommend getting in touch with the consulate. We were told by the interviewer that our passport would be ready by Oct 23rd and it was. Now on to the POE which is going to be Toronto Pearson.

Good Luck to all and remember the key to this journey is having patience though it all.

  3. Hey guys i just realized that my spouses name had a mistake on it after registering with Loomis. Her middle name was written by mistake on the surname area instead of the given name area. Will this be and issue and if so how can we fix this?

    Thank you in advance.

  4. I have read that it is without fingerprints. I just got mine done today, and I had to go the Commissionaires as the local police departments don't do it anymore. Here at least in BC. It cost me $43, and they said it will be done before Monday. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the answer it clarifies it alot. :)

Where do you live? I lived in rural Alberta and went to the RCMP branch in my town. It was free, and only took 5 business days to get. Mine did not require fingerprints.

Thank you for your answer, I live in Toronto.

  5. Hello everyone, I am from Canada and wanted to ask if anyone could tell me how to get a police certificate and how long does it usually take? I was reading about it and am confused which the US Consulate requires the one with finger prints or the one without?

    Thank you in advance.
