  1. just called nvc, and was told different story, this time is they cannot find my police certificate, but i called several times last week, and they all told me they have a doubt on my overseas police certificate. one thing in commen is now my case is being reviewed by supervisor. i'm definitly sure that my attorney sent everything together in one package, how can they couldn't find it? this is really stress me out, you just don't know what should do next except endless waiting.

  2. i was told that my case has been transferred to supervisor due to they have a doubt on my overseas police certificate, and now is being reviewed by the supervisor, and i got checklist email on this. shall i just send the correction now or i better wait to see the result. because i am worried if my case got completed finally after supervisor's review, will it slow down the processing time if i send the correction now?

  3. called last wednesday just before thanksgiving and was told my docs was reviewed but they have a doubt on my overseas police certificate, so it has been transferred to supervisor to review, and i was also told there is a checklist email sent to me, but i still have not received that email yet, how long does it take normally to get a checklist emai? i tried to ask rep what information is missing on the certficate so i can send the checklist doc asap, i called 3 times and none of them can tell what specific information is missing. is this normal? if checklist email were already sent but the case is still being reviewed by supervisor, and reps do not know what information on the checklist email.

  4. Supervisor review means that they are verifying that the police certificate that you provided doesn't need the name or not - it's a good thing - Because it's basically challenging the checklist (which obviously takes 60 days) vs. a supervisor review (which can take up to 45 days). Keep on them to make sure - if the document is official and the only one you can get then keep challenging them on their decision.

what should i do to keep challenging them on their decision, shall i just keep calling them? another question is, if there is a checklist email on the way sending to me which i have not received yet, why when i ask rep and supervisor what specific information are missing, they both said cannot tell exactly what inforamtion are. even i ask malta police headquarter to issue me another updated one, i don't know what information should be added on. it seems what i can do is just wait for this bloody email.

just called and was told i will receive a checklist email, but my case is still being reviewed by supervisor and it could take another 42 business days to review it. so i'm really confused, if it has not been determined, why they send me a checklist email which i have not received yet.

  6. Pick Malta at the following link and you can know if you submitted the correct police certificate or not: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html

yes, i did looked at that. the problem is all those information (incl. parents names etc.) are required by malta police headquarter to obtain the police certificate, but nvc thinks it has to be all indicated on the certificate.

  7. Hey! Can anyone let confirm that on the police report the parents' names must be listed??? This is the first time I have seen this requirement. Thanks.

that's what i was told by rep, but it could be various depends on which country. but when i turned to malta police headquarter and asked to issue me another with parent's name on it, they told me the one they issued to me is the standard (with no parents' names), and now nvc cann't accept it, this is really stress me out. police record is just to prove the person is in good conduct, why should put parents names it is not a birth certificate. i don't know what to do with this, i can provide nvc another updated one but still the same template.

  8. I was told that this is not done for everyone. It is done case by case. For example, I can only be issued 2 checklists maximum. After that, I will be asked to bring the missing information to the interview. It would be best to ask a NVC rep.

thank you, this forum is really helpful and supportive.

  9. No it is not. They typically issue a total of 2 checklists and in some rare cases they have issued 3. Usually it is only a max of 2 and then the third time you can take the correction to the embassy.

thank you jcruzazucar. the problem is my police certificate is without my parents' name on it which is required by nvc, but malta police headquarter insists that is the standard tamplete they issued no need to put parents name. this is killing me, i really don't know how to do it know.

  10. i'm newbie here, and i'd like to get some advice from you. my scan date was on sep 23 and i just called nvc today, and very frustrated by what they told me. it seems i have some problem for my overseas police certificate. i was living in malta for a couple of years back to 20 years ago, and i provided malta police certificate along with the other docs. but now rep told me my docs has been transfered to supervisor because they have doubt on malta police certificate, but it was issued by malta police headquarter. if this is not proper template, i don't know where should i get it from. this is really ridiculous. could anyone here give me some advice on this? if i call nvc for the supervisor's contact no. will they give it to me? i want my attorney talk to the supervisor, or i just wait a few days to see if they finally can verify it?

  11. i mean try calling NVC .
