My fiancee has been trying to find info on where to stay while getting her medical exam. I know there are some seedy hotels close by but she doesn't want any of those. She would like to find one only a couple of minutes of walking to and from the clinic so she can be in line before the clinic opens because she is going for her medical earlier than her appointment. She would also like cost per night info and anyones comments on staying there.
try cherry blossoms, it is nice, beside the robinsons ermita, i stayed there a few time, the price inculdes a breakfast, (but she will be up too early for that, it is safe and clean.
they have a few different types of rooms the cheapest fill up fast so get reservations.
it is also on the same street as St.lukes, just about 2-3 blocks
the below info is from my guide book so it might be old
Cherry blossoms Hotel, 524-7631, 550 j. bocobo extension, ermita.
premium/deluxe P1250/1815
singles/doubles 2178/2541
also try
Citystate tower hotel 400-7351
I am sure the prices have gone up, but the location is great, and safe, nice staff, close to all transportation.
I checked Cherry Blossoms for this week but they were getting full and all I could get was their 2-level suite for P2350 (about $47). I figured for that price I would just go up a notch in price and get a little nicer place. If you reserve in advance you can probably get one of their cheaper rooms if price is a priority.
Yes do the 2-level suite at Cherry Blossoms are not that good

Hello,
My wife and I have applied for AOS and we have a date set for the biometrics. I am here on the K-3 Spouse Visa. I have some questions regarding the interview process.
- How long does it usually take to be given an interview date after the biometrics appointment?
-Are you given a choice of when you can have the interview date, like the biometrics appointment?
-And is it okay to travel outside of the US before the interview date?
Thanks.
As far as how long will it take for an interview, check out this website, and just put in the district office you are going thur, and it will give an est. of when to expect an interview, each district office has different waiting times.
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/ptim...id=dQOmghdMaWd4
and DO NOT travel out of the US unless you have advance parole.

My co-sponsor is retired and would like to know which supporting financial documents will be required with the I-134 for a retired person? He is not totally comfortable with surrendering all that is listed on the form. I know the more we can submit the better but I also understand his concern. Would he need to submit his 1040’s from the past 2 years? Also I am correct that I read somewhere you need to show only 100% over poverty for the I-134 and 125% for the I-864?
yes you need to the 1040's even retired you file taxes.
i have not heard that you only need 100% all that i have read was 125% for all

dont forget many pics of you two together so you can include in the application

It is best to just leave them & don't take any risk whatsoever. I had tons of them back home but I decided not to take the risk. Good luck!
they wont check if you just have a few but if you have alot they can check them to make sure they are legal

Northwest Airlines has cheap flights to Manila and you can get a seperate connection ticket once you get there or just get an eticket.
but i agree with everyone else, dont go there, of if you do dont stay long,
go there meet the family and then somewhere else and spend time with her away from that city.
many nice places in philippines but that is not one of them

Why does immigration need to know if you're bringing over 10k. Fiance will be bringing about $15k with him. He's afraid they'll wnat to tax him or something. Does anyone know why one needs to declare anything over 10k?
Can he buy some kind of check or money order that can be cashed here so he doesn't have to have to much cash on him? He might also transfer the money to my account to make it easier but he s coming this week and he says there is a bank holiday this weekend.
Anyone bring over a lot of money as well?
the $10,000 limit was set to catch drug dealers and such.
so if you bring it claim it no matter if you have cash or check.
if you dont claim it and they find it they can take all your money.
recomment bank transfer, but that will also raise a red flag that much, dont worry they are not looking for you just money laundering and drug dealers.

Hello everyone,
This is my first time here, and hopefully some of you can help me through the process I'm about to begin.
Here's my story, I have dual citizenship (mexican-canadian) and marrying a soon-to-be American Citizen (Venezuelan originally). Currently I'm in the US with no visa as Canadian citizens don't require visa to visit the US.
Jose and I have been advised to fill out applications I-765 (application for employment authorization), affidavit of support under section 213 A, biographic information, and I-130 Petition for alien relative. Are these all of the forms that are required?
Also I have a dilemma, I was previously in the US under a TD Visa (Trade Dependant) with my ex-husband. During that time as I was not allowed to work, I completed a master degree in a private university that didn't require me to obtain a student visa. However, I'm afraid that INS might see this as illegal. My school never gave me anything written stating that they didn't require a student visa. What should I do?
Thanks all for your input.
i dont think you can do the I-130 until he is a citizen, the rest? humm I dont think that the getting your masters would put you as illegal, you were here legal, you just went to school, i dont think they would care about the masters as long as you were here legal.

Thanks for the help!
each state has different requirements for residency requirements check with the school.
most are 1 year in the state no matter where you come from

I was told that because my Fiance has 2 kids that would make it harder for him to get approved for the K1 Fiance Visa. Because the consulate might ask him: Are you willing to leave your 2 kids (6 and 3 yrs of age) behind to move to the United States and Marry your Fiancee? I know we have to declare the kids on all the forms...but he would like to bring the kids to the USA once their old enough to make decisions. Can anyone relate to this situation or give me any advice?
he can try to bring them now (up to one year after his arrival) or bring them later after he is here but under different visa's, maybe after he becomes a citizen
-
you need a co sponsor for the K-3 after you are married

if possible try another office

Couples Who Met Online
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
Posted
Meeting online was not a problem, question might be asked about it, but only to extablish that you two have a relationship.
the only requirement is that you two meet once in the last two years (right?).
They dont care if you met online or how long you have known each other, some couples have know each other long time but dont communicate much, but many couples communicate thru emails chats, everyday.
prove that you two have meet, (lots of pics together). and that you two have an on going relationship.
