  1. Thank you NYCNY and Jimmy,

I will update my Global Entry profile soon (will go to SFO airport once I get my US passport).

    Hi, Bosco1 and Jimmy,

I've updated the Global Entry profile with my new US passport. No appointment needed. Just visit an enrollment center and indicate that you want to update information with your GOES account (on the sign-in sheet at the center or tell the officer you see). It takes only 3 minutes for the officer to input the US passport information into the system.

The PASS ID (Known Traveler Number) remains the same. You can pay $25 and request a new Global Entry card afterward on the GOES website.

See more information on the official FAQ: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1265/~/updating-passports-or-making-changes-to-your-goes-membership

  2. Hi JimmyHou,

Just curious if you passed through a GE office recently and if you asked them about the process of re-register with USA passport after naturalization?

    thank you.

I only had one interview; I use my green card for GE.

Perhaps you need to create a new account and start from scratch? Not sure.

Before I applied, I walked in and asked what I needed to do to apply. The officers at the airport were very helpful and gave me a pamphlet and explained the process. I might ask them next time I pass through in a few weeks.

  3. Thank you Jimmypesto,

I might do the same (to apply at the post office near where I live).

I scheduled an appointment with my post office that handles new passports near where i Live , I gave myself 4 hours for the ceremony and the appointment later in the day to give me enough time to enjoy the ceremony and then travel to apply for my passport.

I figured the line to apply at the ceremony would very long.

  4. Hi,

My interview on 5/5/2015 at SF office went well, and was recommended for approval.

On 5/8/2015, got text/email update, then on-line status shows" Oath Ceremony will be scheduled"

so far have not received the oath letter yet,

I wonder if I should call National Customer Service Center 1-800-375-5283 to find out if the oath letter has been mailed?

    thanks.

Wow that was quick. I hope I get my oath letter soon.

  5. Thank you Jimmy,

Yes, please if you pass through next time, could you ask If I just walk-in to re-register after naturalization (replace green card with U.S. passport).

    Thank you.

  6. Hi DC85,

I used it once last October entering into U.S. via San Francisco,

both Visitor and Citizen/Permanent residents lanes were rather long (at least 10 min wait), while there is NO wait at the GE,

I scanned by Green Card (my GE account registred with Green Card), answer a few questions (touch screen), ....

to me, I would like to keep GE (though $100 is not cheap, considering that I don't travel overseas all that much).

I don't want to hijack the thread. But is it really beneficial, the GE, specially with the Auto Kiosks that all major airports have ?

  7. Tom_Jim,

Did you just walk-in, and told CBP you needed to register your passport,

I have GE (currently registered with my green card). I would like to keep my GE even after I get U.S. citizenship.

    Thanks,

When I became a USC, I just registered my U.S. passport at EWR's GE office (no need for an appointment). They did not interview me. They just registered my passport. It took 5 minutes.

  8. Hi Jimmy,

Just curious how did you make an appointment if you are already a member of GE? (I am a member of GE, my on-line account doesn't have the option to change passport of orgin, or the option to make an appointment).

did you have to call the Enrollment Center?

Many of the Enrollment Centers don't like "Walk-ins" interviews.

    thank you.

    That's the "interview".
It only takes a few minutes and there's sn intro video they ask you to watch.
I did need an appointment at IAH in Houston, though.

  9. Any update on this?

I cannot find any info on CBP website, other than "name change- or status change to passport"

    https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1265/~/updating-passports-or-making-changes-to-your-goes-membership

    Thanks.

I've been registered with Global Entry for a few years now.

When I registered I was a green card holder. Now that I have a US passport, do I need to re-register, or is there a simple way to update details with them?

    Thanks
