  1. Thanks so much @dwheels. When I paid the immigrant fee, it changed to optimized immediately, this was before I flew into the states. My Elis status has been in optimized mode since the day I paid the $165 immigrant fee. Isn't this strange? I tried using my receipt number to check my status on uscis website but it says invalid and error messages. The dates on my Elis account have not changed either. Isnt this weird?

  2. I have a cr-1 visa, i arrived the states 3 weeks ago and I haven't gotten my SSN and GC even though I clicked YES on the ds-260 form online. I paid the $165 immigrant fee 2months before I flew into the states and my elis status has not changed since I paid the fee. How can I contact uscis about the elis problem? At the point of entry the immigration officer told me I would receive my GC in the mail within 3 weeks but this didn't happen and my elis status has not changed and the dates remained the same as when I paid the $165 immigrant fee. Please help me!

  3. The social security officer asked me if checked the box for SSN in my ds260 application. I told him I can't remember. He said he's gonna wait till 8th of July to see if my SSN will arrive but if it doesn't arrive it means I didn't check the SSN box in my ds260 application. He said if it doesn't arrive, he will file a new application for an SSN for me and he will send me the receipt in the mail.

  4. I arrived the states 3 days ago on a CR1...Everything has been cool so far. I was told at the point of entry in dubai that i would get my green card in the mail. But i dont know what next to do. Don't know how to get my social security number and any other stuffs that is required for me to do. Is there anyone who has gone through this or with an experience about this process? I need help on what to do next. I have been here in california only a few days and i have been staying at home all day.

  5. I have been scheduled for an interview at the lagos embassy. But I am having some issues. My wife visited me in lagos for the first time in 2013 and spent 6days with me, within this time we got married. She had to hurry back to the states cuz she was expected to resume work the following day. She has not been able to visit me again bcuz her work schedule is so busy. Now I am scheduled for interview and I don't know how to answer the CO if they ask me questions like how many times has your wife visited you in lagos or when was the last time you met your wife? I am very worried if this will be a red flag at my interview. What am I expected to do? Is it really important to ask my wife to fly in for the interview? If my wife is unable to come, how do I answer this question in my interview? I need advice.
