  1. Now that I have read everything, I will share my status! Hoping that it helps

I check D-260 for both SSN and GC but hadn't received anything. Payed $165 on 11/5 and had POE 11/6

I got my IOE receipt number because I made a print screen of the confirmation of the payment, when I made my payment. It says USCIS Receipt Number

Been worried about not been able to check my status, and yes you do it at the regular USCIS check status link as apparently they have changed the ELIS system August 2015 so all the talk about tracking card by login in in ELIS doesn't work anymore.

Went to an SSN office last week and was told that I was issued a number on 11/10 but that they most have "forgotten " to send me the actual card :ranting: Anyhow the lady was really nice and issued me a replacement card. I'm awaiting that now. But at least I got my SSN number from the clerk, so would advice to go to your local SSN office if it's been a while since you payed and entered US.

Talked to USCIS today about the GC and it was useless! He pretty much just read a script that he had infront and repeated that I can call back when it's been 60 days on what ever question I had. Also I have read that the GC plastic card will take at least 30-60 days, not even those who had the old system got it until after waiting a month. The only shame is that you can't track the card in the check status link, at least I can't as it just says error. I guess I'll just have to wait and wait...

    Thanks for sharing your experience..!!!

  2. Is it just me or is there no way to track the GC. Everytime i log in to USCIS case status it says cannot be found. Meanwhile SSN card received in 1 week.

    Hey...

You received your SSN after visiting SSN office or did it came automatically after your POE?

FYI, i have not yet received for my SSN & GC both and below are the details:

    GC fees paid : 10/12/2015

    POE: 10/24/2015 in JFK

Called USCIS number also, they said i have to wait for 60 days to get my 'IOE' receipt number.

  3. All,

I raised a query last week in USCIS site for 'IOE' and below is the reply that i received:

" If you submitted payment for your Immigrant Fee after October 23, 2015, your receipt number was provided to you on the confirmation page. The Electronic Immigration System did not provide a receipt number upon payment of the USCIS Immigrant Fee between August 31, 2015 and October 22, 2015.You should receive your Permanent Resident Card within 60 days of your entry into the United States or within 60 days after your USCIS Immigrant Fee is received (whichever occurred later) "

I paid my fees on Oct 12th and have POE on Oct 24th and the wait is still on...!!!!

  4. Our case has priority date November 27th 2013 and we are still waiting for Welcome letter. It was approved on April 1st 2015 and then was put on CSPA review. it has been 7 months but Nobody knows how long it will take for case to move further. Called NVC multiple times and every time they said to wait for CSPA review. No guidelines or any info on this process. I hired stupid lawyer hoping to move case further. Guy took the money and said just wait for NVC to respond. This is like endless battle with NVC as there is no hope for anything. It is so unfair that other people get visa beyond our priority date and our case is not even being looked at. They keep giving same answer but nothing will ever happened for sure.

What is CSPA review and did you tried to find the reason why your case was transferred for such review?

  5. As rightly mentioned by Franklin, she has to carry the originals of Birth Certificate, Passport, PCC and Marriage certificate.

It is advisable to carry copies of your W2, 1040 and latest pay stubs. Again it is just an advice not mandatory docs. Also if i have understood you correctly you already have your 1040 with you hence you dont have to bother about the 'extension' term - you can ignore.it. :)

    All the best..!!!!

  6. my husband had his interview today and ceac status started showing issued.

His interview experience in Mumbai embassy.

He arrived 45 min early. He was asked to join a separate queue of immigrant-visa applicants.

Guard at the front verified his appointment letter and walked him to go in.

He was given a token number and a lady collected his papers and was asked to wait until his number is called.

When his number was called an American officer asked him to say an oath and he was asked to provide all his papers.

Then the officer verified all papers and asked him questions.

    Questions are ---

    How did you both meet?

Was it an arranged marriage or love marriage?

    What does she do?

    Where she is residing?

    What did you do before?

    Where did you worked before?

When did she go to U.S.?

Is your love for her true and is it going to be same even after you get there?

May be a couple more.this is all I remember from him explaining to me.

Then the officer said "ok you are approved.you will receive visa in hand between 3-5 business days.

When I checked the ceac status later it showed issued.

God Is good.good luck to all.cant wait to see my husband.

    Gob bless all.

    Congrats....!!!!!

  7. Hi everyone

    Our visa interview experience:

Arrived at the embassy around 7am and joined the queue. At 7.30 they started calling people with 8am appointments to form a separate queue.

A pre-screen officer checked passport And directed to go through security. After that, went in to the embassy and at reception handed in the interview letter and was given the number i-901. This number is the ticket number and will be called on a large screen. By this time a lot of people with other categories were also waiting and being seen. After about ten mins at 8.10 am I was called to the counter to submit all original docs to a pre-screener and get finger prints done. I also submitted two photos.

Then I was asked to wait again until my number was called.

After waiting for about 45 mins and at 9am I was called back to the counter and this time it was the CO. Everyone was very nice and courteous. The CO asked the following questions:

When and where did you meet?

When did you physically meet for the first time ?

Where is your spouse from originally?

How long has your spouse been in the states?

What university did your spouse attend in the states?

Where is your spouse currently living?

When do you intend to travel to the states?

That was it and then she said everything looks good and that the visa has been approved.

Thank you so much everyone for the support, the advice and encouragement for this past year and a half. I know I wouldn't have been able to maintain my sanity had it not been for this family. Thank you Habel, Sbai, hope wings, Sam, susdan and everyone else that has been with me or following this journey. Good luck to everyone who is getting through this journey and I hope our paths cross some time in the future.

    Congrats...Munafn....!!!!!

Really happy for you..... and thanks for sharing your experience..!!!!!!

  8. Congrats bro

Unfortunately for my wife ,she had her interview since August 5th,CO requested co-sponsor I864,status AP since august 9th the last time it was updated. I already hand in all requested document .I was hoping to see my wife and kids in September.I'm praying God to get this journey to his end I'm almost there.

    Hi Johnny,

Sad to hear this. But just to understand this better... why did the CO requested for co-sponsor? You as a petitioner don't meet the sponsorship criteria?

Didn't NVC requested you for co-sponsor documents at NVC stage itself?

  12. Hi Friends,

My PD 22NOV2013 and my case not completed yet. I am at canada since 2012.I completed DS260 and I sent all my documents to NVC . I already send my canadian pcc. But I got checklist for Indian PCC. To get Indian PCC its take 4 to 6 weeks in Canada. its too long for jst PCC.

What should I do? Please give me advise.

    Hi Bhumin,

Unfortunately, we have very little options when comes to the documentation process. We have to provide all the documents whatever they ask for. I suggest soon you apply for Indian PCC so that your process goes on.

    All the best..!!!!
