Yesterday along with 660 others in a ceremony at Peoria my journey was completed.
I paperfiled to Chicago last November 2017, biometrics November 28 2017, (St Louis) interview June 14th 2018 in Chicago and finally oath ceremony yesterday.

So, I got a call today from immigration to tell me that my oath ceremony for the 17th was cancelled bcos my address does not come up in the Chicago area jurisdiction. She said I will be notified of the new date in the ltr future. Was in class when same number called 20 min ltr, and the same lady informed me they rescheduled my ceremony for the 25th. 😀 the Peora mega ceremony.

My ceremony is on the 17th of this month in Chicago. I am really surprise as to why they scheduled mine in Chicago

So, oath document uploaded and I am sheduled for the September 17th ceremony in chicago. I live in central illinois. Is this a mistake or something?

Its actually my worse nightmare as the date I have been given is Peoria on September 25th. I am supposed to fly to England on 23rd. To change my flights to evening of 25th will cost an additional $650!! Plus of course I would take the risk that even though I will have my certificate of naturalization which according to the USCIS website can be used, the airline might not let me board coming back to the USA .....
my senates office is trying to help me get moved to the Friday ceremony but of course red tape....!!
Maybe your letter is coming... I didn’t interview until June.

many of my other Chicago fliers get their update today?!!
I am wondering why I can’t fly to England on my British passport and re enter the US with my naturalization certificate??!! It proves I’m a citizen??!!!

Not necessarily. I spoke with a clerk at the federal court in Urbana and she said sometimes people get sent to one of the other locations but she said they just do what Chicago tell then to do! So I am hoping not.... but at the same time I am thinking it will be likely to be next spring.
It will really suck if we have to wait until next spring which is like a 7 months wait

I agree, i bet those of us in central Illinois have to wait until next year....I was told at interview that I came under Urbana and they had jurisdiction ( the only place in central Illinois that has three ceremonies on the same day once a year - go figure the logic of that one).
Does that mean we that falls under urbana jurisdiction won’t have our oath anywhere else other than urbana which is in April next year?

Here’s an interview experience where the person was asked to go home and bring old passport. So, you will need to go with old & new passport!

Hi Peachling! I think seeing how long you have been in line is why now, I wish I reside in Chicago 😊considering how fast they get their oath date. I’ve only been placed in line since the 3rd of this month, so not expecting anything until next year, but I might just get lucky...Didn’t know the ceremony gets crowded like that. 700 people? Wow. With that number, one will expect to be there half the day, since most if not all, would want a pics with the judge as kdg as mentioned. I think you will get a date out of the 3 remaining ceremonies left

Yes, my field office is Chicago, filed online. Was surprised when I got my interview date after 2months of filing.

Ok, so, as some of you know, I had my interview the 24th of July, and passed but at the end the IO said decision cannot be made as he needed to have his supervisor review my application before any decision can be made. I didn't want to give an update of my interview because I didn't know what the outcome would be after the supervisor review. The IO said since I've some few criminal history, (A dismissed DV back in 2013 (wrongly accused), and was placed in removal because of it, but got terminated by immigration judge in 2013 & Driving on revoke registration, misdemeanor A in 2016). I explained what happened, as I just purchased the car and the seller allowed me drive off with the old license plate but then I got pulled over and was made aware of the issue by the officer. So, after almost 2 weeks August 3rd, my status updated to I attended my interview. Yesterday, I got a status update that says my application was approved on my uscis account. But when I track case status, it says I'm placed in line for oath ceremony.

Oh, you are just 30 min from me. To be honest, I was thinking I will be scheduled this year but reading your post, and seeing the how long you’ve been waiting, I guess I will set my mind for next year.

If you move it certainly changes jurisdiction but I don’t know how long the wait is in NY/NJ and if it is just as administrative ceremony there which of course makes the waiting time almost nothing. Worth investigating.
I live in Charleston about 50 min south of urbana, is there a possibility that we from around this area can be scheduled to take the oath is Rock Island? I have just been placed in line for oath taking?
