  1. Hello there! St. Lukes already replied to my email saying that they already forwarded my husband's medical documents to USEM. I have a question regarding change in CEAC status. When your fiance's status changed from Refused to Ready, was that because USEM received the medical documents or was that because you were given an interview schedule?

Oh cool, congrats! The ceac status changes from Refused to Ready because the embassy removes the hold that is placed on our case as a result of slec reporting the positive tb to them. Ready happens after the embassy opens the sealed medical report and changes ceac to Ready.

My fiancée interviewed the day after her remedical, when ceac still said refused. It's no problem, the paperwork all catches up.

  2. Hi! My daughter just finished her 6mons treatment in st lukes but when i asked them if they were the one to call the us embassy to reschedule her supposed to be dec 2 interview, they told me that im the one who's goingto call the USEM and make an appointment, just wanna know if anyone had the same experience? Thank you!

Better if you are the one to call or go online to make the appointment. My fiancée (now wife) finished dot early December. In December we went online and scheduled her interview for January. After the last tablets, SLEC requires everyone to wait a month to make sure that final fourth sputum tests are negative. Then SLEC wants people to wait a week after that to remedical and then weeks after the remedical in order to get the paperwork.

If you have reasons that you can't wait all these administrative weeks, then talk with SLEC to make a plan to speed things up. You can see in our timeline that we did not wait the extra weeks after her final sputum was negative.

Good luck! And congrats to your daughter. My fiancée would sometimes help a young girl drink her dose in November when we would go to SLEC together. Maybe that's your daughter.

  3. Hi! My daughter just finished her 6 mons treatment in st lukes but when i asked them if they were the one to call the Us embassy for visa interview, they told me that i am the one to call and make an appointment. Just wanna know if anyone here do the same?? Did you make an online re schedulling or need to call the embassy?? Thanks in advance!

We made fiancee's USEM appointment online at the end of her dot. Then she was ready to interview after the one month final sputum wait.

  4. The embassy never responded to our properly formatted emails. We sent a few over several months. We only got answers on the phone (sometimes waiting long periods) or through the feedback link where we logged in to make the embassy appointments.

Be sure your email account that the embassy has on file through the embassy account registration website is checked for the 221g ... no brainer, I know.

  5. We bought a plastic envelope for fiancee's envelope. Put her envelope in that and packed it in a carryon backpack in Olongapo and didn't take it out until Chicago POE. Noone along the way asked for it.

That was after we got her CFO sticker. I have been reading some of your posts and I think your fiancée doesn't have the CFO sticker yet. In my humble opinion, better that she doesn't show the envelope to CFO. CFO could possibly try to make a mountain out of a mole hill. She just needs to show CFO her passport and CFO certificate to get the sticker. Oh, and she also had to fill out the registration info sheet all over again. Good if your fiancée has all of your USA phone numbers and address written down to carry; she'll also need that to fill out custom declarations at POE.

  6. Waste of money to send anything. The I-134 was the last remaining original required and the USEM is not asking everyone for that. I wouldn't waste the money it takes to send that via DHL, FedEx or others. I'd put a couple USPS global stamps on it and send it for less than $5. The new USEM letter dropped the wording about original signature being required on that also, so perhaps even a scan of that works.

Scan or attach anything to her in email that you think she needs or create a shared Dropbox so she can print on her end.

  7. Sounds like you are set on getting a repair rather than risk POE refusal by not getting it re-sealed.

Perhaps call the POE and ask them if they are not going to have a beef with the envelope as is so possibly no re-seal needed. If US CBP is ok with it then just get a name of the officer that might say it's ok as is or an email or something. Just a idea.

  8. DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE AN IDEA IF I (PETITIONER) CAN GO WITH MY FIANCE DURING THE INTERVIEW IN MANILA?

PLS SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE. THANK YOU.

Even if you do not have concrete marriage plans, ensure your fiancée has confident answers to what state the marriage will be in, if it will be in church or civil and when. Those were questions asked if my fiancée. I was at her interview, however the CO told me to have a seat in the general public while my fiancée was interviewed; the interview windows are walk-up and standing.

  9. Arent they supposed to call you and not text? I tried calling the number and it cant be reached. Its a regular number from Smart. Anyway, am just letting whatever need to happens.

Texting might be new process for notifying about positive sputum. My wife did dot and she said she never heard of anyone getting notified that way, phone only. She said SLEC uses text for other things, like telling people when they can re-medical after the dot is complete.

  10. hi i passed the interview march 23, 2015 im also waiting for my visa and passport most of the k visa applicant with the same date of interview got their visa already but mine i dont have any email about my visa. do i need to worry?

No one has got their visa from interviews 4 days ago. You should most likely get your visa from 2go within 2-3 weeks of the interview.
  11. FINALLY! After 8 months of delay due to DOT in St. Lukes + another 6 months of delay due to retrogression, my husband finally had his immunization and result (this is after almost 3 weeks from his repeat medical). He was advised by St. Lukes that we can contact (by ourselves) the US Embassy for interview schedule. I will do that once VB for May is out. Question is, St. Lukes informed him that they will forward the medical documents/results to US Embassy, do I need to give them (St. Lukes) a call to ask if they already forward it?

    Thank you!

Congrats. We did dot as well. SLEC told me they deliver the sealed medical reports to the embassy in the morning. So, they will most likely deliver Friday's envelopes on Monday morning to the embassy. I emailed SLEC a day or two after my fiancee's remedical and they replied promptly stating the day they sent the envelope over to the embassy, which was next day after remedical. So maybe email them Tuesday and most likely you'll get a reply like this:

    Mr. ....,

Based on our file, Ms. ............., medical report was forwarded to the US Embassy on January 14, 2015.

    Thank you.

St. Luke's Medical Center Extension Clinic

After that, your ceac status should change from Refused to Ready.

  12. I need some clarification here. I feel so down. Tonight 6pm, I got a text from someone claiming to be from Slec and that I shud go on march 31st for pulmo eval or call a number. It was my 4th week of sputum culture. I thought if its something positive, they will give u a call. I only got a text. Im so scared now. I dont have any symptoms nor histories so I was confident abt it. Now all hopes seem so far. My fiance is here and will leave on Sunday.

The down feeling will come to pass. We know exactly what you are saying as we just completed the dot in 2014. Read my VJ timeline. It details what is most likely ahead for you. It doesn't seem like it today, but everything is going to be ok.

  13. We're getting worried. Cause last March 23 he was informed that someone will call him afternoon of the 24th for the immunization and release date which most likely be on the 25th. However, noone called him. :(

SLEC will give you a more direct answer if you (the USC petitioner) calls them directly. Try calling them around 8am Manila time. It's possible he could get through the vaccinations today or tomorrow and be done.

  14. My fiancée did the DOT at SLEC as well. Here's how our re-medical played out. We lived in a condo in Ermita and then Olongapo for a couple months.

Her last sputum test was November 12, 2014.

Her last tablet was December 9, 2014.

We went to SLEC on January 9, 2015 to get the result of her final sputum, which was negative. We paid the additional 11,025 php and she re-medicaled the same day. That was a Friday.

We returned to SLEC the following Tuesday, January 13th to finish medical, get her CD and vaccination report.

Interviewed at the USEM Wednesday, January 14th and then visa in hand February 6th.

I as the USC Petitioner had to be very involved with SLEC in order to finish more timely than they normally do. My fiancée told me that if it was just her alone dealing with SLEC at the end of her DOT then it would have taken at least 3 weeks longer.
