  1. Just a little update since my interview and oath on March 13th(same day).

i applied for my U.S. passport at a U.S.P.S. on Tuesday March 17th and selected regular service which takes about 4-6 weeks. i received my passport today(3 weeks/15 business days) later.

the reason i am stating the above is because i just checked my case status on uscis.gov(just for the heck of it) and it STILL says "interview scheduled March 4th, you'll receive a letter with the date of the interview....."etc. clearly, they aren't very quick with updating online case status.

  2. at my interview, i wasn't asked to recite the star spangled banner or the pleadge of allegaince. at my oath, which was the same day, the star spangled banner was shown to us in a short video on their tv there. As for the pledge of allegiance, the immigration officer asked us to repeat after him. so he said the pledge of allegiance and we just repeated what he said.

  3. I'm a U.S. citizen! had my interview today at Mt.Laurel. The process couldn't have been easier!

my interview was at 1pm, i showed up early at 12:45pm. went through security. the people were very sweet and kind. went inside the waiting room, handed my interview letter to the "check-in" window. Got called inside at 1:10pm for interview. the lady was extremely sweet. she put me under oath and then quickly went through the application i had submitted just to make sure everything was correct. she noticed that i had filed based on my marriage even though i was eligible to file under "greencard for 5 yrs" rule. so she changed my application to that because it required much less paperwork and didn't ask for ANY extra paper work that i had brought with me. she ONLY asked to see my passport, U.S. i.d.(my drivers license) and my green card. then she told me she'll ask me 10 questions and i just have to get 6 right. i got the first 6 right so she didn't ask anymore(i don't remember what questions she asked because i was in such a daze). asked me to read one line and then write the answer she told me. then asked me if i wanted to come back for oath at 2:30pm(we have same-day oaths). i agreed. when i walked out of her room i realized it was only 1:21pm which meant the interview lasted about 10 minutes. i waited in the waiting room, went in for oath, the oath process lasted about an hour and they handed us our certificate!

i would really like to thank our little family here at visajourney who have been more than supportive and have done their best to helpout and answer our questions to the best of their knowldge. GOOD LUCK everyone!

  4. i don't believe this!!!!! my interview got rescheduled AGAIN because of the weather!!!!! :ranting::ranting::ranting: i had an interview on january 27th, got a call that because of weather it's being rescheduled to march 5th(tomorrow). just got a call saying that it's rescheduled to next week friday march 13th!!!!!! this is ridiculous!!!! UGH!i honestly thought i would be all done with this january 27th.:cry::cry:

  5. @iGalin CONGRATULATIONS!!! and thankyou for sharing your experience. i have the same center and have also filed under the marriage rule(have been married 10 yrs now, hvae had green card for 5yrs) good to know it's a simple process. i have a question though, i was asked to bring our tax returns as i didn't submit them with the application. were you asked to bring anything to the interview?

  6. @VJVasi i opened the book for the first time yesterday they gave me at the biometrics. i had my husband test me without studying and honestly, most of it seems to be general knowledge. the history part of it espeically. i do have to say that the current events(name of house reperesentative etc) i need to brush on :/

i do have a question. i was asked to bring my joint tax returns with my husband. i just simply went on the irs website and had them mail the transcripts to me, is that good enough or do i have to take the huge stack of tax papers to show our joint filing?

  7. mine actually states "On December 18, 2014, we scheduled an interview for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION"........"We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by January 17, 2015, please go to...." so i'm assuming they already scheduled an interview for me. i could be wrong and maybe it just means that i am in-line.
